Said the Treffie to the Rat, you look strange today dear Sir
Said the Rat to his dear friend yes I\'m head to foot in fur
But have you seen your face today you\'re hardly a blooming rose
Well when I say a face, I mean those teeth and that big nose
Said the Treffie to the Rat, no I look just as the same
No you don\'t the rat exclaimed take a look and don\'t defame
So on they went, this way and that until the moon was bright
Disagreeing how each other looked, they did seem such a fright
When morning came, they still were there, and neither would agree
That both of them looked not at all like they would like to be
So off they went their separate ways back to their daily lives
The Treffie and the rat, but they really weren\'t that wise
Look at the date someone did say, it\'s all been one big joke
Said the Treffie I don\'t smile when I look like an artichoke
So let this be a lesson to those who are bothered how they look
Beauty is on the inside, let this now be a closed book
