Quid Pro Quo
« on: May 08, 2005, 12:24:12 pm »
Four friends they meet, to drink until, they can no longer stand
They all tell tales of long ago, when life was oh so grand
But now they\'re poor, and do not have, a Tria to their name
What happened to their dreams of old, their fortune and their fame?

The Dwarf his name was SnuffleCrab, he couldn\'t care one bit!
Straight to the point his friends would say but never without wit
The Kran his name was Craydonkrow and quite the silent type
You never heard him disagree, you never heard him gripe

Then there was Don-Purrdow, a proud feline was he
He would never settle down, never get down on one knee
Last not least was Rufas Snare a human through and through
Not so bright, but as you\'ll see, the leader of this crew

\"I have a plan\" said Rufas Snare \"I swear it is my best,
We will go and beg tonight, pray listen to my quest
We each must have a story, that the crowds they will believe
To be very rich and famous, we really must deceive\"

The friends agreed, this was indeed, a clever little thought
So off they went with such great speed, the tallest and the short
The first to reach the Plaza was the Dwarf name SnuffleCrab
And so he told his tale of woe, and similar lines of gab

The cat did hop, around the square, and cried \"I\'ve lost a limb,
A Tefusang... he bit it off....\" but all they did was grin
So Rufas Snare tried next and said \"I\'ve 15 brats at home.
The wife is up the duff again, I can no longer roam\"

The hours they passed, to no avail, so they gave up their plan
Without some Trias - no ale tonight - but what about the Kran?
\"You\'re quiet tonight\" Rufas exclaimed \"more than you usually are\"
Craydonkrow took a deep breathe in \"I\'ll race you to the bar\"!

It seems that Craydonkrow was the cleverest of them all
Whilst the others looked like clowns, they failed to enthral
\"I just stood there silently, with a sadness on my face,
(I\'m not a cuddly person so no-one would embrace)\"

\"They gave me coins and lots of them, it made them feel so good
They could see that I was down, they really understood\"
\"One day\" he said \"I will repay, their kindness through and through\"
So off they went - ran to the bar - without further ado

The morel of this story - there really is no doubt
When you are down on your luck, please don\'t scream and shout
Don\'t scam your friends, it really is, the lowest you can go
Tell them you need a little help, remember \'Quid Pro Quo\'
