Simple, read the title. It's short.
Basics
/sit = «character» takes a seat. (also restores stats faster)
/stand = «character» stands up.
/greet = «character» greets everyone. When targeting a player/NPC = «character» greets «target»
/salute = «character» snaps to attention and salutes. When targeting = «character» salutes «target» respectfully. (or something like that :sweatdrop:)
/bow = «character» makes a bow. When targeting = «character» makes a bow to «target»
/wave = «character» waves. When targeting = «character» waves to «target»
Respects and Interactions
/thank = «character» thanks everyone! When targeting = «character» thanks «target»!
/sorry = «character» apologizes to everyone. Sorry! When targeting = «character» apologizes to «target». Sorry!
/nod = «character» nods in agreement. When targeting = «character» nods in agreement with «target»
/kiss = «character» blows a kiss to everyone. When targeting = «character» blows a kiss at «target».
/poke = «character» pokes everyone nearby. When targeting = «character» pokes «target».
/point = «character» raises an arm and points. When targeting = «character» raises an arm and points towards «target»
Abstracts and Feelings
/laugh = «character» lets out a hearty laugh! When targeting = «character» laughs heartily at «target»
/cry = «character» bursts into tears. When targeting = «character» bursts into tears on «target»'s shoulder. (dead romantic)
/sleep = «character» appears to have fallen asleep! When targeting = «character» falls asleep beside «target»
/sigh = «character» sighs dramatically. When targeting = «character» sighs dramatically at «target»

Handier or just even more annoying as everytime some one walks into the tavern and uses their /greet $target shortcut for eveyone present?

This looks much easier

so all emotes will have supported actions it wont stop chat being filled with
X Greets A
X Greets B
X Greets C
X Greets D
A Greets X
B Greets X
C Greets X
D Greets X
Now if only the person targeted received the greet but all could see the animation it would be fine.
Sorry to hijack your thread but this is a long time gripe of mine going back a few years and its similar to the X sits/X stands messages, we have an animation for that so why the need for a system message to tell you? especially as it can be seen through walls etc. stuff you would know unless you could see it

Ah I'll give it a try. I looked in the in-game help but did not see anything.

Indeed it is /listemotes. I was confused since other commands like "/morph list" and "/set list" are used in that way.
