if i remember correctly there will not be horses in ps, but other riding animals.

A betting syndicate would be a nice touch I think.
No harmless gambling ever ruined a game.

I might even offer my services as a bookie one day..
So horses no, Pterosaurs yes, or even those M thingos that are bat like.

it should be a rich game where only the noble families participate and have the best rider from each family, ride for them. The common folk can of course one day be a rider or just earn a few trias on the race.

I know, a lot of MMORPG game\'s failed because if no or  improper transportation. I think races would be great and a great innovation. I don\'t know any other game who has massive multiplayer racing built in. But i also think even the poorer people should have transport. Let\'s say pony like for \"fast\" travel and donkey like for heavy transport stuff.

No, the poorer ones should walk, like they did in medieval times, no mounts for them.

I want Pterosaur racing dammit, or maybe the ground mounts, whatever they may be.

racing would be very hard to program (unless NPC racing) because you would have to build a special course, different variables and stats between each animal, I mean shouldnt all animals idealy have equal stats, unless you can train them; and there, there is little point in racing if there is one really good trainer that will inevitably win every race. racing would make things way too complicated. a good alternative to player racing would be scavenger hunts all across the PS world, and you have to get some items and bring em back... many twists can be added to scavenger hunts wheras in racing there couldnt be.

It wouldn\'t matter if the animals were all the same, so maybe they could be...
Though there are animal trainer occupations, so who knows... Racing would be cool still.

Nah, even if all animals had equal stats (which they probably should), I\'d say that the player would need to ride and control them. This way, the player would be the one who will bring in the variety. Consider yourself in a racing car. Even if the car would be absolutely identical to all others, you\'ll make mistakes and whatnot, so this shouldn\'t be a problem. After all, every single racing game works this way (i.e., all cars / whatevers are identical (if you wish), and the player\'s skill and luck determines the outcome).
So yes, I\'d love racing as well. Maybe we could also have normal races (i.e. without mounts). I\'ve proposed some additions for fleeing that could also be used in races like adrenaline rushes and forcing oneself beyond the usual limits, with appropriate after-effects.
