By order of the Octarch, a house in Gugrontid will be put up for auction.

[A auction podium will be placed in front of the door leading up the the auction. The house will be open for inspection before the auction. The house will come with then Gug house map]

Auction Guidelines
   â€¢   Houses may only be sold to guilds, not individuals
   â€¢   No guild may own more than one house in Yliakum
   â€¢   At each auction, one person from each interested guild will be designated to bid
   â€¢   The bidder must have sufficient funds on his/her/kra's person to meet every bid, and will be required to prove same
   â€¢   Full payment is due immediately upon conclusion of an auction
   â€¢    Keys  will be provided to the winning bidder immediately upon conclusion of an auction

Reserve Price for this auction is 1 million trias

Additional Information
   â€¢   There are dozens of valid reasons for guild splits and alliances, thus enforecement of any policy restricting such arrangements would be purely arbitrary and circumstancial, and would place an enormous burden on project staff with little chance of a positive outcome.
   â€¢   Secret guilds should announce themselves at the auction as "Representing a private entity", however the guild to which the representative belongs will be the owner of record should they be the winner
   â€¢   If a guild that owns a house is disbanded the lock will be changed and the house will be shuttered as abandoned, reclaimed by the Octarchy, and resold at a future auction

We hope, with this advance notice, you all can work out who can represent your guilds during the times indicated above.  You should plan for an individual auction to take from 60-90 minutes.

The GM team is made up of people from all over the world who have come together to make this game more enjoyable, and are responsible for helping players with their in-game issues. The GM team strives to help keep the game free of bugs, exploitation, abuse, and harassment. With large numbers of people online, such problems arise now and again, and the Game Masters intervene when necessary.

Below you can find the names of current Game Masters on the team, so that players are aware of who they can turn to for help and who they should definitely listen to if approached.  Please do not try to engage the GMs with idle chatter, as they are often dealing with issues that need their full attention - only send them messages if you truly need help with a problem. They are closely monitored for their actions and at many times are very busy with player requests. When contacting a GM keep this in mind: A GM should not be constantly paged by a player asking for something - we consider this GM Harassment. If the Game Master has not answered you, please assume they are busy and contact them later. Usually a few minutes should do.  You may also alternatively file an in game petition about your issue, and the moment a free GM becomes available, they will look into it.

Q: What actions does the GM Team perform?

Ensure that the Player code of Conduct and game rules are enforced and take appropriate action against players that disregard these rules.
Assist in keeping the player free from unwanted harassment.
Assist in reporting bugs found in the game.
Assist in providing feedback for new game functions or modifications to existing functions to the development team.
Relocate players who are stuck in the game geography due to a bug with that portion of the game world.
Assist in other problems that are not otherwise covered by the Game FAQ
Assist with the /help channel.
Checking for frequently hit bugs, errors, or misleading game functions.
 
            ** NOTE: Reporting bugs, problems and possible enhancement of the game is a critical part of the GM Team's duties.

Encourage roleplay and other initiatives players may have, like creation of new guilds, roleplaying certain situations or characters, provide wedding services, etc., that have been deemed allowable by the settings development department.
Create and run dynamic quests and events in the game that have been approved by the settings development department.



Q: What actions does the GM Team not perform?

It is the goal of the GM team to help a player with any possible situation as long as:


It does not involve giving "spoiler" information, such as detailed directions, quest information, or information on creatures, armor and weapons.

            ** Knowledge of these subjects is considered part of the "mystery" of the game. It is part of the game to adventure and learn the wonders of the world of Yliakum through your own means of discovery.

It does not create an exploitable situation.

            ** An example of this would be teleporting characters due to an unverifiable bug. GMs will not teleport players to a location, except in the case where there is a definite bug involved.

It would not constitute favoritism or compete with activities conducted by players in the game.

            ** For example, GMs will not give out items unless part of an officially sanctioned RP quest or event. We cannot give items upon request for every player in the game, so it is unfair to do it for a few. This would also interfere with player economy and the worth of items.  GMs do occasionally hold events in which characters may come and have their items renamed to one of their choosing, so long as it fits in with the settings of the game.


Q: How can I become a Game Master?

So you are considering applying to the GM team? You will want to check this thread to ensure that the GM team is currently recruiting new members.  If they are, then please proceed below to see if you meet the following qualifications.

First, you must be over 21 and have been playing for a minimum of 3 months
Before you do anything, talk to some GMs either in IRC via irc.freenode.net #planeshift-gmtalk, or PM's via the forum, or if the GM isn't busy and only if the first two options are unavailable ask via /tell in game if the GM has time to talk and help you, to decide whether you really want to apply.

If you decide to apply, approach any GM and inform them that you would like to join the team. That GM will start a thread on the GM forum, and the same GM will then monitor and manage your application.

The GM managing your application will search through the report logs and Player history etc and post the results.

You will also be asked to submit a short written application detailing your Planeshift history, how long playing, number of characters etc. your age, real name, time zone, and a brief explanation of why you wish to become a GM. This will be posted in your application thread.

In the next step at least 3 GM's will interview you in group to assess whether you will fit into the team, reasons for joining, level of English and any other relevant information. The logs of this discussion will also be posted in this thread.

Once all the information is collected, the GM team will comment until a consensus is formed and the applicant is either denied or if successful the application will be forwarded to Sarva and a suitable time will be negotiated to perform the final interview. The assessment of the interview will be discussed with Talad.

Weltall had an issue where he was at the meeting but couldn't set himself to visible so players couldn't see or hear him so I relayed his answers forpeople wondeirng why I'm posting and seemed to be running the meeting

And I can be sure because I loot them on a regular basis. Some named weapons are just named weapons, nothing else.

Octarch Housing Auction

By order of the Octarch, three houses will be put up for Auction. One house each day [ Auction dates are Jan 7th, 11th and 12th at 2100GMT.]

One house will be sold in each of the following districts, one house sold per day.

[Friday Jan 7th]
   â€¢   Gugrontid Lower Village [@ 21:00 GMT]
     
[Tuesday January 11th ]
   â€¢   Ojaveda [@ 21:00 GMT]

[Wednesday  January 12th ]
   â€¢   Hydlaa Winch Terrace [@ 21:00 GMT]
   

[All houses up for auction may be found in the above districts.  You will find an Auctiion Podium at each one.]

Auction Guidelines
   â€¢   Houses may only be sold to guilds, not individuals
   â€¢   No guild may own more than one house in Yliakum
   â€¢   At each auction, one person from each interested guild will be designated to bid
   â€¢   The bidder must have sufficient funds on his/her/kra's person to meet every bid, and will be required to prove same
   â€¢   Full payment is due immediately upon conclusion of an auction
   â€¢   Master keys and copies will be provided to the winning bidder immediately upon conclusion of an auction

Reserve Prices per house
   â€¢   Gugrontid Lower Village: 1 Million
   â€¢   Hydlaa Winch Terrace: 1 Million
   â€¢   Ojaveda: 1 Million

Additional Information
   â€¢   There are dozens of valid reasons for guild splits and alliances, thus enforecement of any policy restricting such arrangements would be purely arbitrary and circumstancial, and would place an enormous burden on project staff with little chance of a positive outcome.
   â€¢   Secret guilds should announce themselves at the auction as "Representing a private entity", however the guild to which the representative belongs will be the owner of record should they be the winner
   â€¢   There is only one master key per house.  Only the master key holder may request copies, and must be a member of the guild owning the house to which the master key belongs.
   â€¢   If a guild that owns a house is disbanded the lock will be changed and the house will be shuttered as abandoned, reclaimed by the Octarchy, and resold at a future auction

We hope, with this advance notice, you all can work out who can represent your guilds during the times indicated above.  You should plan for an individual auction to take from 60-90 minutes.

The two caravans to Dsar Akkio had worn Mr. Hambaro out, but had also pleased his old friend Jirosh Mikana. Which was all he really cared about.

During the second trip Jirosh has completely taken Mr. Hambaro by surprise by announcing 'I have spoken to my brother, Phanejor, and has been able to arrange something special for you my old friend.......He has a vacant house in the Winch that he'll give you the keys, for you to use while you are in town.' Once of the first things Mr. Hambaro had planned to do next was to find somewhere suitable to store his items, and run his business from. But with this generous gift, a weight had been lifted and he needn't worry.

Passing Percival Mr. Hambaro and Miss Berinat entered into the winch district of Hydlaa. Phanejor Mikana wasn't far from the winch gates, and the two heard him before they saw him. He was shouting orders and organising a hand full of people, sorting out goodness knows what to go to goodness knows where. Mr. Hambaro and Phanejor Mikana had known each other from before Mr. Hambaro had departed for the lower levels.

With an out stretched hand and "Mr. Mikana." Mr. Hambaro introduced himself. There was a brief conversation which ended with a couple of keys and directs to a house on one of the lower levels of the winch.

The house, stale and quiet, had been used for storage for as long as either of the two could work out. Walking in Mr. Hambaro clasp his hand together and smiles "Perfect, Miss Berinat welcome to our new residence. I would like to set up and start having meetings with the local crafters as soon as possible." the polite response came "Yes, Mr. Hambaro."

So the two began the organisation of the house, tables, chairs, rugs, desks, storage, books, all was put in its place.

Once organised, just how Mr. Hambaro wanted it, he sent Miss Berinat out with a message.

Mr. Hambro is interested in meeting with those people who have rare and unique items to to sell as well as crafters who can provide the highest quality items in larger quantities. All meetings will take place at the office Mr. Hambro has established in the Winch section of Hydlaa.  Please contact Diunti Berinat to schedule a time to meet with Mr. Hambaro.
