I agree with Taya about the chat thing. I do a lot of RP with new players, when I spot them. Afterwards I often try to thank them for the RP in /tell, but I rarely get a reply...... But really, I know that you guys have a lot to do, but isn't it possible to change the chat settings to show at least all the most relevant tabs from the start? (I would say main, system, help, whisper and gossip)

In regards to the chat tabs I do remember speaking with Talad about such important tabs not showing as default and I was sure he adjusted the default tabs that show. I have just tested the latest full install (0.9.5.1) and I have main/tell/system/help tabs showing. So this means players can easily see new tells. Having gossip there would mean talking to people in game while going through the tutorial and early game would be much easier and would probably help people who are stuck who then stick about and not give up. I personally think all chat tabs should be there as logically its easier to look to find a way to remove a tab that you can see, than to try and decide to see if there are tabs missing when you have no idea that they are missing. The same is true for the option bar at the top of the screen, the default view of that should be with all 15 icons you have.

In regards to being more visible we could do with someone joining the team whose sole job is in PR to go around all the forums and chase people like those at MMORPG to make sure all of our game information is up to date. This like so many things isn't done... mainly due to the fact we don't have someone responsible for it and everyone else is too busy.

We have however just got hold of PS' twitter account https://twitter.com/planeshift which all the Devs have decided to try our best to keep up to date with all the things we are making/testing/trying/adjusting/bending/folding/cooking...etc So once we have decided exactly how we will do this (directly tweet on one account or each dev tweet their own stuff and have it retweeted on the main one) we now hope that this will make what we are doing much more visible.

I had a great time RPing IC and chatting OOC with Karlyle both as players and both of us as GMs. Lots of good memories. I had been hoping the note in game wasn't accurate but it seems it was. Like Dannae said we chatted during his brief return, and seeing him about recently I'd hoped he would make a strong return which i was looking forward too. He was the kind of guy that will be missed by all, and certainly by me.

Probably, but obviously not without someone coding a system.

This is similar to having all the different Qs in the crafting containers but without the 'take and stack all button'. Some sort of user defined stacking brackets would be nice to have, or, as you suggested with the fixed 50 Q brackets. So 'no stacking', 'stack all' and 'bracket stacking' options in the settings somewhere.

Are the ground score units going to remain there to pick up and be a standard quality?

If you pick a flower they will, at the moment be Q50. The update only changes mined/harvested materials.

Will the npc merchants pay a per quality rate for ores, because I wouldn't unless the quality of the metal made a difference to the quality of a finished product.

Everything has a price scale dependent on Q. A higher Q ore will (technically, but probably not everytime due to the random factor) make a better Q finished product.

Will the merchants that sell products that cannot be acquired elsewhere, milk or whatever, at several different qualities or will those items remain q50 or become available from free sources?

At the moment they are all just Q50.

To expand on what weltall just said. If you go to you PlaneShift installation directiry all of the spell efects and sound folders are there.

If you either rename or delete the spell effects folder you will stop all the spelleffects when casting.

There is also a bug with magic sounds and you can stop all magic sounds by renaming or deleting the magic sounds folder.

Well, to Illysia and Aiwendil I was more than happy to help set up the event /and/ clean up after you. But I am also rather disappointed that I was unable to attend as a player or GM (you've no idea), I would have loved to have been able to add to the event in either/both aspects.

I heard only good things about the whole thing, congratulations to both of you and to everyone who came and took part.

This is a limatation with the engine. You could walk about as you play, but the music can't follow you. As the point you are at when you click play is where the music emits from, and it isn't currently possible to have it move. So to get round having random music playing but the player moving off the player is forced to sit when they start and stand when they stop. But play+move will happen..... Eventually.

I've just been though the quest script and there are no problems with it in regards to the 'Thanks' option not showing. One thing I did test was with a default GUI and in that case you only get the first two response lines from the NPC being shown in the window. Could it be that you were getting the response but you just needed to either make the 'Quest response' window larger, or scroll down?

FYI I'm reading through all the pages and editing them, they should be much better (though I cant promise mistake free) once I'm done and then Talad said he would update the website. Only to races left too do.

I'd suggest adding the lifespan info available in-game to the blurbs.
This is already available in-game, check out the sanatorium in Hydlaa.

Hey, if the resolution you want to play at is full screen you can launch PSLaunch and in settings chose full screen and it should be fine. If you need to specifically set the resolution then you can quickly manually change the resolution of both the PSLaunch and PSClient, this is for if you are on windows it may be slightly different for linux or mac. You need to find a file called psclient.cfg. There should be two on your computer, one in the installation directory C:\programfiles\planeshift (or where ever you installed it) and on in the user directory which should be either

for XP - c:\Document and Setting\<username>\Application Data\PlaneShift
or
for W7 - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Planeshift

You might need to show hidden files to see all the folders.

So once you have found the psclient.cfg file you can open them and change the following lines
Video.ScreenWidth = 1024
Video.ScreenHeight = 768

Just put the high and width that you want your game to play at and then save the file and load the game. If you have windows 7 you will need to open notepad as an administrator and then 'open' the psclient.cfg file and then edit and save it. It also advisable if you haven't in a while to update your graphic card drives.

Hello possible BlackFlame follower, you may not have noticed but in the important topics in this board is a thread with some basic details for the BF Some BlackFlame guidelines from the Settings Team

If you have any specific questions about playing a follower you can ask me either on IRC or via forum PM. But as mentioned a good way to see if you fit will be to try the in game quests, but it’s easier to get the right result if you have a prior understanding of just what being a BF follower entails.
