EDIT:  re-installed in default directory and client launched successfully, had previously installed on secondary hard drive.

Well.. we got past the launcher now it crashes as character enters the world will be digging through forums for a solution.

You might want to try out different settings in the launcher, the client is a bit fickle like that. Note that lower settings might not actually be better in some cases.
