So yeah, I mostly did it for myself in fact, but I had no reason to keep it for myself and I thought it might be useful to many people around. So here it is : a calendar for you to easily convert RL days into Yliakum days and vice-versa. I hope you guys will like it. ~

Fan Art / Aeghiss' attempts at 3D art

So yeah, I've been willing to try making some 3D for quite some time now... So as I'm in holidays ( \\o// ) with Aeghiss stuck at the hospital, not much to do and as there's no way I go back to work before having spent two-three real free days, I started tinkering a bit with Blender and... Here's the current state of my first try.

Hey there !

Some people here may be aware that I always have many many sacks projects. Including lots of projects for PlaneShift.
Yet I have some issues with one of those, so I came here to ask for your participation. I won't tell you why exactly - it's a surprise ! Plus it is linked to several projects which haven't been approved by the devs yet - well, it won't be lost in any case, it may be used for general RP matters afterwards.

So, here is the question : How do you imagine the tastes of the different plants of Yliakum ? (raw and/or cooked)
Just give any idea you have, be it simple adjectives or extremely precise descriptions : everything you'll propose will be of help.
For some plants there are clues, but for most I have none and wouldn't feel legitimate to decide on everything on my own - moreover that's quite a list and I don't think I'd be able to imagine so many different tastes alone.

General Discussion / [ABC License] Comments, flaws, questionings...

As I've been thinking about a project for PlaneShift (don't ask, you'll know things in due course - it should be a surprise even for the Devs team :D ), I was also led to wonder about PS content license. And then to wonder about some of its points... That's why I decided to open a topic to discuss it (and I said discuss, not complain nor criticize).

First of all : about artists giving up the rights on their work to Atomic Blue. The reasons why are well explained and I have nothing to oppose... Except for a slight thing :

Shouldn't the work become AB's property only once the team decide to use it ?
Let's say I drew a wonderful concept art for a creature to be added to PlaneShift. According to the situation, once I submit it to the devs I have no rights on it anymore... Which means, even if PlaneShift don't use it I can't get it back to use it for anything else, and thus the artwork is lost.

Second point : what about player character names and history ? What I mean is, as long as we create a character and make his/her/kra story public, it is somehow submited to AB and a part of PlaneShift universe, especially if the character is famous. Thus :
1) Every player mess with the ABC Licence when he/she plays his/her character(s)... That's nonsense.
2) Any player who leave for years, may come back to see his/her character has been deleted and put into a NPC and got his/her/kra story changed... I doubt AB would ever do that, but still, as it is a legal text, the ABC License should be flawless, and I consider that point a flaw.
3) Last but not least. Aeghiss is the name of my main character. Thus, I have no right anymore to use it as a pseudo nor to name any of my characters. Aeghiss has been my pseudo for everything for years and is a part of my identity, so you can easily understand that I feel it unbearable... I may be the only one in that case, but I doubt it.

Wish list / Items gathering Jobs

After a talk with Nedloh, I decided to open a thread about that.

Well, I suppose each player of PS who deals with crafting, mining or harvesting agrees on that - and for sure, each of the ones I already talked about it with : the current gathering of materials is a pain.
Currently I know no full-time hunters, harvesters or miners. Crafters often dig or harvest themselves because that's the easiest way, even when like they hate doing it. That's just too long and boring.

So, what Nedloh and I suggest is to make experience increase productivity. One possibility is to get a random number from 0 to n, with probabilities which depend of the level of the corresponding job. That way, a great miner would not only get better ores, but also more easily and quickly.
In the best case, it would help pro materials gatherers to appear. In the worst, at least it would be less annoying for crafters.

Another point is : if we do that with Harvesting and Mining, why not applying that to Hunting? Why not make hunting a job which would train through looting beasts and which would get more parts/hides and of better quality with training ?
That would make hunting more pleasant (remember that topic about looting), and it would also benefit to alchemists, leather-workers and bowyers.

Last point : to make harvesting and mining more exciting, another possibility would be to have very low chances to get rare items in areas which usually do not contain it, or to get a lot more items than usual. A kind of "critical hit" that would be as pleasant as rare.

Well, I finished my explanations. Now it's your turn to react !

General Discussion / Leathers Color

Okay. Yesterday, I was working on my char description, and since I use lots of leather pieces for my several clothings, I thought I should add precisions about the kinds of leather (tefusangling, velnishi, ulbernaut...) and the colours. And then I realised, I know no model linking those two. And since I thought it was something interesting for RP matters, I started making one, following my feelings about it. ^^"

So, here is what I already made, trying to get rather distinct colours between different leathers.

General Discussion / Crystal Way members

Hello there.

Perhaps you already met me IG. If yes, maybe you know I'm an apprentice of the Crystal Way.
But the fact is, there is no real place IG for us to meet ourselves, and I know none of you, except for - really slightly - Docur.

So I guess - I hope! - that creating this topic will allow us to meet, to speak about our beloved way and perhaps to organize some IG events.


So, let's begin with me. Who am I [ICly] ?
I am Aeghiss Rubinhertz, a Knowledge Seeker, an all-rounder crafter, and a crystal way apprentice enchanter. I reached the Fourth Realm, and I'm going to reach the Fifth soon.
