Alright. I blame Mishka for this... well it's kinda his fault anyway. He started this new around of 3D arting. While I should be spending November writing, I couldn't help but sneak back to my Maya tutorials. Once I did that, I couldn't help but play around beyond the tutorials. This is what I made today:





It's just a simple plate with an Ojaveda border, but it's a start. This was my texturing practice, I even faded some of the details. It needs is a normal map for that center part and more texture to it, but oh well. Time for sleep.

You are welcome Ven, but where's my picture of an oversized Plate of DOOM(tm)? I'm just glad the export worked. Even I wasn't sure all the files would work. You know, anyone can try their hand at retexturing the plate if you give them the uv map to work from.

Getting items fully loaded into the client with textures and all is a bit of a pain due to how I have to edit all the files to match a current art files name. So im not doing that. Once Talad has issued a full art dev update for me I will take screenies of all the new stuff to be released in the update.

Admittedly they need more details on the top and bottom to represent the inner folds but that is just beyond my skill right now. Maybe I'm just tired though. A lot of effort went to fighting the UVs and figuring out why they kept moving themselves around. >.>
