Solution to crash when looking at inventory/item descriptions/buy-sellwindow with Nvidia 4000/5000 cards.

1) Go to \PlaneShift Steel Blue\data\config\ and open the file gldrivers.xml
2) Add a new rule, it does not matter where, just place it between the <rules> and </rules> tags and outside of the tags of an existing rule:

<usecfg>disableRECTTextures</usecfg>
</applicable>
</rule>

Alternatively, delete the entire contents of the file and replace them with the contents of this file:

If there is anyone with an Nvidia 4000/5000 card for which this fix does not work, please report. If there is anyone with another Nvidia card who also experiences the crash and for whom the fix also works, please report.

followed the instructions in bug tracker

added reply in bug tracker

although, i also added some other things to the psclient.cfg itself

Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_EXT_texture_rectangle = false
Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_texture_rectangle = false
Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_NV_texture_rectangle = false

so im not really sure which works better or which solves the crash
but im leaving them there

Just like to throw in my 2 cents that it worked perfectly for me as well.

Same card as Rizin (5200, PCI, 256MB), on Kubuntu 7.10.

I actually just replaced the whole file with the one provided at the link above, worked like a charm.  Thanks for that!

I don't know if this is what you're talking about but in the tutorial when I try to trade with Neave Bsetun, the entire game crashes!I can't even finish the tutorial ONCE!
