Indeed LigH ! And Illysia, this sound like a great idea overall to me.
I don't know how it will work concretly on the long run, but nice  Let's go to Gug !

However, i have some "technical" question for you : Say, i spot 20 iron ingot and i would like them, can i give 20 charmflower in exchange to the apothecary stall ? Or do i need to give something related to the item i took, example 20 copper ores.
Maybe a kind of "exchange rule" or pattern should be fixed to give a sort of guidance ? Or is it completly free to choose what i take/give ?

Indeed LigH. But isn't wragberry more like an orange ?

And I might be wrong but I recall in the "basic" kitchen book something like : "Heating 4 Scoop of Lards into Hot Cooking Oil using Pot". So the "cooking oil" is craftable already. You could just add a step 4 scoop of lard > Cooking Oil.

For the lettuce, the "big" plants like "Clackerweed" or "Kingsfoil leaf" could be considered as salad, aswell.

I agree with you, it's a good idea to have a "taste" of local happenings and such. But those kind of information fit better in a Newspaper then a setting book which is a kind of "permanent" information gathering. Example : a book about the bestiary of Yliakum opposed to a book about the ongoing strike of the miners in Gugontrid.

In the other hand, if we had a kind of "kiosk" in game, where we could go and read the "latest news", not on books but on note like format, it would make more sense. Somewhere like on the plaza or on the grass next to Harnquist. This "kiosk" could he hosted by Settings as for the check in on the texts, and dedicated to local news and not on "background" or "lore" knowledge. Maybe.

For the MAC users : there is a fine little plugin that permit us to open and view the .dds files : XnViewMp. It's free and small. My links are in french but you can find it easily just typing "XnViewMP MAC" on google.

Complaint Department / Re: Commmunity involvement
« on: September 28, 2014, 02:49:27 am »
If we can't discusss without beeing called "bashers", we wont go far... But i think THERE is the main problem no ? You can't take critiscism without a spoon of sugar? Com'on.

NO ONE of the tasks asked to either Devs, prospects or GMs are easy. It's never something like : "Hey here is my work ! Thanks, wonderful *implemented*" :D. There is always 67 steps before the work is even tested.
There is always something that is to take into account and which, in the end, ask to rework the submitted work : lore not fitting, impossible to do engine wise because totaly crazy, too long for a quest, etc... And EVEN DEVS has to abandon some ideas because of those reason.

In the other hand, it's not easy for a new prospect to enter a team that work together since years. It's true, not easy. But maybe it's due to the number of people coming and going too. Still it's possible and trust me, some are extremly welcoming and do all to help you feel listenned and supported. But in the other hand if you can't take criticism such as : " We can't do this." than you are just not made to work in team. That is all. Nobody is perfect, i know no team where there is no problem at some point. It's HUMAN !  ::|

And i still, i really still prefer to have a "NO, YOUR ARE SILLY" kind of answer then no answer at all, it's the worse thing possible to do to a possible prospect.

All in all, either you feel like working in for the game (motivation reason is enterly up to you), either you don't. I don't think there is a middle ground here.

Side note : We should avoid going personnal, it's all except a personnal affair. Honestly thought, i don't see the problem with Taya's first post o.O' I re-read it several time and still don't see where is the problem ? As i understand it, she was just trying to make the balance, it's not all on the Dev shoulders...

To the Project Dev Topic now
TUATHANACH ASKED :
1: Are people interested in contributing to either a: a project lead by me or b: the game in general?
2: Do people have ideas to increase/encourage community involvement in game development?

1/a. Should be hell of a fun !
2. I think despite the tone of the post, TheAuthor gave some ideas to improve the involvement. Dev should atleast ANSWER to the prospect, give a feedback beeing negative or not. In the other hand prospect should be ready to take criticism and ready to rework several time on their stuff. It's no BIG DEAL! Doesn't mean the work is bad, it's just normal. To give an image to this : You have to make a square fit in a circle. Yes it ask several work around :D

The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: People Saying They Suck At RP
« on: September 08, 2014, 04:11:39 am »
That is an intresting thread !

I had no idea of what was Rp-ing before entering PS. All i had was beeing a true fan of Theater and that's where my "style" come from (if we can call it a style :p ). Therefor i tend to emote a lot less and "give the message" throught dialogue. With the time spend on the game, i learned to "emote" a bit more, to adap to PS way to do. I don't know if it was someone style but i clearly noticed that "emoting" was part of it. What i mean by emoting is "describing my char action/mood as he talk".
We have not much way to learn "how to RP" then to observe people and take a bit of their "way to do"  and integrate it in ours. I have no idea if i "suck" or not, all i do is go for it and indeed have fun in the improvisation.

I loved Rigwyn way to RP because it sounded extremly theatrical / dramatic to me. So i would probably learn from him if i had to choose a "model" because it fit with my love of Theater. I would say the same of others char that i learned from, just reading them or interacting with them. I mean when you never Rp-ed before, you obviously need a "support" to start from anyways, i guess.

PS : Mariana ! I love reading your stories on the forum, don't you dare stop writing :(

In-Game Roleplay Events / Re: On events
« on: August 30, 2014, 04:31:18 am »
Pierre, like Taya said : " Sadly pleasing every single player who attends is almost certain to be impossible "

They do reward tria most of the time to everyone.  And why not worrying about powerlevelers ? Aren't they part of the game too ?
The point of an event isn't to analyse each player needs and act accordingly. Point of event is to have FUN. Enjoying a giant "all together" RP. Nothing less and nothing more. An event is made for that. It's nothing linked to developping a char, training stats or helping a "newb".

@Volki : Yes intressting remark. Can you propose something else then ?
And obviously you will most likely RP with friends on a daily basis, even if trying to involve any people you see in your RP.

@Donari : No comments.  ???
