Looking into installing drivers since I have decided to use the BF's linux Laptop to play games :)
I'm pretty sure that's what the problem is  ;D
He had only used the laptop for work before giving it to me, although he should have known me well enough to know I would start trying to game on this thing  :whistling:

Well, made a brief visit but missing something on the laptop. I felt like i was in some Tron-like futuristic city- checkboards of Reds, greens and blues heh. If I can figure out how to fix it on a linux system laptop, i will be back to visit more often  ;D

There weren't many places to go but we did have fun with the places we had :)
I need to drop in and see all the new changes!

Anfa, what version of the client are  you running?
I believe it is 5.2.1? the newest available because I just downloaded it with utorrent.
update- with the updated drivers I did manage to get into the game by bypassing the launcher and just using the client. managed to stay in for about 5 mins before the client crashed :)
Had to leave for work [because I was running late] so no details on what caused the crash.
I will try again to see if I can stay ingame for more then 5 mins when I get the chance

Cheers and thank you for the help

\\o// Anfa coming back!

- Those error messages are "normal" and unrelated to the crash...
- CPU, RAM and GPU are fine; chances are that Windows 7 (64 bit) may give some issues, though.
- It is highly recommended to download and install nVidia graphic card drivers from nvidia.com (or maybe omegadrivers.net), do not rely on Microsoft shipped drivers!
- When a crash dialog with the crash ID appears, try to press Ctrl+C, it might work to paste its content into a textfield with Ctrl+V afterwards.

but there is no crash dialog, the window disappears and the launcher window reappears over and over and if I skip the launcher and just use the client, the window opens, looks like it's loading normally [except the totally white window] then it just shuts down *poof*
downloading new drivers now but pretty sure my techie bf who built this for me did NOT depend on Microsoft shipped drivers lol. Think he would fall over if anyone even suggested it!

Hugs to you LigH, happy to see at least one name I recognized :)

Well I would like to come back to visit but can't seem to get the game to work :(

So I can see the laucher window, I go to play, a window opens up [all white] with a toolbar at the bottom I watch move all the way to the right and then the window closes and I find myself back at the launcher window.

error log states-

General Discussion / Re: Introductions
« on: March 03, 2008, 07:16:52 am »
I have to say I really like the beginnings this displays. I think it's wonderful that if you want to "know" someone you actually need to take time to introduce yourself. Not five minutes into the new world and I made two new friends whom I probably would not have made if one nice fellow hadn't introduced himself, therefore getting my attention. It was only natural that I introduce myself back and that led to a conversation! Think it has great rp potential, especially when sitting at the bar and "someone" is telling secrets  :whistling:
and for those who don't want to be known, it's wonderful!

General Discussion / Re: Character Description
« on: January 08, 2008, 02:03:13 pm »
Cute. But one shouldn't make the mistake of thinking of their characters as real. That's one of the worst things a writer can do.

Is your character not as real as the world your character lives in? Separating your life and world from your characters life and world is what you need to do, but Anfa has a life of her own separate from me, and in Yialkum she is as real as Yialkum itself is, and her reactions and decisions are based on the actions of her world.

For sentimental reasons I still keep some OCC stuff in my description, put for the most part I try to stick with only what you would see with a brief look. Anyone who wishes to know more, need only introduce themselves, Anfa is usually quite friendly.  ;D

Cheers

Agreed Sangwa, and good to see you are still around as well!!
But..until this watcher gets a feel for the Yialkum that is, rather than the one I remember, I'm going to hold off on updating the RP/IG aspect.

Thanks for the imput!

Not the leader [that would be Sreamah] only the mouth piece  ;D

Still trying to talk the leader back but the lag I've noticed ingame would drive Sreamah crazy!

Hoping to see Maulus [ *looks under the closest rock ] So where is he hiding lately?

Almost a year later and we walk the streets of Hydlaa once more. I am tired of my wanderings and have returned home with some of my fellow Scions. Feel free to say hello, if I haven't had a chance to meet you. We are a friendly sort and I have a lot to catch up on.

It is good to be back in Yialkum!
