General Discussion / Can we talked about the weekly market a bit

So i was just thinking how to generate more RP recently and i was immedlietly thinking about the hydlaa weekly market, There was something that has been bothered me for a while about it.
 
First of we have to rewind time by a couple of years. When we didn't have the weekly markets. It was never a regular thing. People hold their own bazaars, markets, whatsoever. There was still calendered markets for each month during 2012-2013 (and sometime onwards hard to recall past). The markets usually had lots of people attending, people would be fairly stocked up.
The Hydlaa weekly market began as an effort to bring consistent weekly trading and RP. And it worked, it was great and it did what is was supposed to (thanks Mariana!)

That was all way back to 2015 and it's lords year 2019 now. And i think for the current activity it's more harmful than helpful. Don't take me wrong, i love markets. We used to run multiple ones frequently and always found time to come to all. But not recently, which speaks for the issue itself. Because the market is weekly now, it has lost all it's speciality now. Why bother to attend when there will be one just next week? On the other hand, someone new might come to try sell things and might give up when nobody is around. If we, for example went back a bit and changed that markets would be only monthly instead of weekly. Do you think it would make each market more significant and more people would attend? Because i think it would. I really apreciate those who have put effort and went to markets each week and would like to hear your opinions and views and experiences aswell.

General Discussion / Entering the Death Realm

One thing i have been wondering is entering the death realm. Obvious way to accomplish this is to, well, kill yourself obviously. But when thinking about it, killing oneself is really demanding task and not everyone can accomplish that. But there's numerous reasons folks might want to enter DR (both IC and OOC), so i was left wondering if there's a way to enter the realm of death without actually dying or killing themselves? Like, creating magical portal to get there or something. I can't remember details of the lore enough and too lazy to check so i'm not sure if lore answered this question or not.

I don't have much intrest or time to actively play anymore so i thought it's more simple to just ask if anyone is intrested than hunting for hours to get a little RP. I'm open to pretty much any RP topic. So anyway if you have any intrest, you can message here, either on this topic or PM, what is more confortable for you. So the game has a ingame time. However, as you might have noticed, there is not a proper nor easily accessible in game time calendar and clock (and the time is stalled in the same year, too.) how about putting something like, a time converter and calendar in the main page or something?

The Hydlaa Plaza / SMF membergroup rights

So the Simple Machines Forums which the planeshift forums uses can have membergroups and different rights per membergroup. Hydlaa plaza has membergroups that are set according to level. I was wondering if there is a list of membergroups, how many post it needs and what rights they have.

Complaint Department / Death has no impact

yesterday, again, like countless other times, someone died. And after dying, the victim pretty much casually walked back from death ( or atleast it seemed like so). This pretty much makes the impact of death 0. True death has some impact, yes, as it is permannent, but normal death? Nobody seemed to care anymore. Honesty after seeing countless deaths, slash from a sword or taking arrow to a knee seems to be more injuring and having more impact, wherein death seems like good way to heal injuries. So i would apreciate if normal death could be made more severe.

First of, i know this has been discussed many times before and that the Death Realm isn't supposed to be a nice place that gives people stuff, but like, maybe adding some more pwerfull and horrifying monsters there? The current mobs over there feel a bit lame.

Wish list / Regonizing new players

 One thing crossed my mind when someone posted youtube review of PS in forums: How about making a label in online list that tells who are the newest players? This way, it's easier for older players to see who are new and who might need help to be introducted to the world of PS. I have seen same feature in other RP game and i think it works well.
