i was supposed to give the guard 3 items in the tutorial. after i did hegave instructions like every other teacher but then he acted as if i had just said hi. then he says i need to give him the 3 items again. obviously i dont have them. i didnt receive a quest from him either. it its posible could i just be droped into the real game world by someone? i know how to play the game so i whouldnt be runing around lost. thx

try seeing if you can get one the game masters to help you out in game, or you can hop on the irc channel and see if one there could lend you a hand.
