Great work, that really looks very good!  8)
So if you carry a torch, would other players see the lighting effects in the same way?

I am saddened by this.

I will miss deleting all those duplicate threads about 'torches' or other movable light sources people always make in the wishlist section.

:P

Does this mean you can make places dark and spooky again and we can just tell the complainers to get a torch?

This is an un-educated guess, but it should.  I believe this to be part of the migration to the new version of Crystal Space engine, which utilizes a new lighting system.

Neither Windows Media Player nor Quick Time will play the AVI.  They both seem to complain of a missing codec, so what codec is needed?

videolan chokes on matroska files for me in linux (.mkv), I suppose it depends on what particular codecs are encapsulated mplayer plays them so I'm not sure what the problem is.
