Testing team is recruiting

First of all we would like to thank everyone who has taken part so far in the bug drive and donated time to help us getting rid of many more bugs.
We are now in need of testers on Mac OS X PowerPC and are recruiting. Windows, Linux and Mac OS X x86 testers are welcome as well, but we are looking in priority for Mac OS X PowerPC testers.

Your main tasks as a tester will be to verify and collect informations on bugs in order to help devs fix them, to pinpoint build issues, and to test fixes, new features and new art.

In order to be considered, you need to be able to build planeshift from source on your machine and to be able to donate an average of 4 hours a week to the testing team. If you have not built planeshift from source but would like to try, you can join #planeshift-build on freenode [irc] and ask for some help.

If you are interested in joining the team and help buid a better game, if you enjoy testing, contact Lanarel (head of the testing team), Peeg, Vornne, ThomPhoenix, Mrokii, f-rd, Weltall or Ligh on irc or pm them on here on the forum.

Those who have helped the most with the bug drive as players should consider applying as testers.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but PowerPC Macs aren't even made anymore and by the time PS is finished there most likely won't be any in circulation.

You don't have to be 18 to be a tester.

All that is required is maturity, time to give, and the ability to build most recent PS.

That's good to hear, perhaps the first post could be edited as it says "In order to be considered, you need to be 18+...."

And I have just finished reading Caarie's guide on compiling the source so I'll be doing that soon.

Ah good point, did not see that in the first post. I will ask f-rd to remove that.
Use http://planeshift.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/planeshift/trunk/docs/compiling.html as most up-to-date build guide, and come to irc (#planeshift-build) for help when you get stuck (for example with art).

Its been 5 months... Does this offer still stand? I'd be happy to test, but I'm running Planeshift on an intel-based MacBook,
if you still want a tester, i've started playing Planeshift again and i'd be more than happy to help.
