you forgot batty as a belfrey <_<
Would describe it as more of a garden-hose type, rather than a simple faucet...
And that would be why Tesh is such a content lady

oh cool! Voron reminds me of an elfish Nicholas Cage! I love how you did his hair just peeking out the back.

Ooooh! Sacho is handsome! [is he still single?]
You're NOT supposed to use the mouse...?You can use anything you want, but I prefer eating my cereal with a spoon rather than a fork. ;)
/me wonders if she could figure out how to make a flash game where you can dress Caraick up in pretty clothes...
Lazarene ... a female version of Lazarus (the resurrected)? — Sometimes I have to stumble even more than twice over the same obstacle before I see it.
I don't know much about cats, but I believe their whiskers are supposed to be long enough so that if they try to crawl through a narrow opening, their whiskers will help them feel if they can squeeze through. So, if that is the purpose on an enkidukai, I would imagine they need to be long enough to reach the width of their shoulders. Unless of course they are only vestigial sensory hairs now.
Hm...who's next...

What about me!!Same place my heart is, a jar in my closet.
Where is the love for Ikon these days?

lovable :) it seems to catch Voron soul :D
no you are betraying your menki again
Well, a good base. Few more defined dreads will make it. Just each second one, you know.
The face is really unique. Especially the mouth area reminds me ... ah, heck ... on whom?! A black musician or actor, I believe?!
At school we get a lot of exercises like: Make 5 sketches each week of the people you see around you for 4 years, each sketch taking no longer than 5 to 10 min. Use pen or markers. Also, make around 40 self portraits each 6 months, using a mirror. And then there's 3 hours a week of model drawing in class :)
Wulfar (face)I LOVE IT!
Not sure I'm entirely satisfied with it, I plan to make it less of a disembodied head and fully shade it later.
Nice rendition of Wulfar, Mari :thumbup:I am pretty great to rendify ;D
This male clamod Enkidukai appears to be about 23-25 cycles of age, and very lithe. He is a bit smaller than the average Menki. He smells of wildgrass, musk, and something else, not unpleasant.
[Currently: Both hands are wrapped in strips of leather, that if untied, reveal blotched and bruised skin beneath matted, sticky fur.]
On Wulfar's right hand, his index finger, is wedged a golden ring with a ruby in it. The ring is large, beautiful yet unmarked. The Cabachon ruby flickers in the light, and inscribed on the edge of the ring is the word "Adani".
Wulfar's face is somewhat noble looking. his ears, both right and left, have small pieces missing. They are a pure, velvety black, with a bit of a silver lining inside them. HIs cheekbones, like the rest of his face, are feline, yet high, framing his orange-amber eyes, which are emotionless at most times, save when provoked. His muzzle is lightly scarred, with thin silvery lines running through it and marring his otherwise soft, black nose. HIs whiskers are a pure black and seem a bit dainty in comparison with the rest of him.
His neck is unscarred, and connects to broad, sinewy shoulders. His body, although small for a menki, is muscled as well and shows years of hard labour. He seems flexible and his natural posture is relaxed. his arms have light silver scars on them as well, and his back is criss-crossed with the wicked lines. These lines appear deep, and there are literally hundreds of them latticed deep into his almost-furless back. They are jagged, and appear inflicted as if to cause extreme amounts of pain.
His tail is typical clamod, with a white meandering line wandering across the tip and midsection. His hindlegs and quarters are equally as sinewy and muscled as the rest of him, ending in heavily calloused footpads. He does not appear to have worn shoes in his life, save the leather boots he wears now. His claws, when unsheathed are worn, yet gleam dully.
His clothing is exceptional, crafted from leather. He wears a full leather ensemble, all mostly new and allowing movement. He wears a leather strap of a necklace, with a gold coin around the v of his neck.
He has a superbly well-crafted saber hanging at his right side, not appearing to be used often. On the left hangs a simple skin, barely filled with any tria. In the tria pouch is a simple clay figurine in his likeness, fist extended on a circular plate of clay.
thanks for the tips, ya'll. I thoroughly enjoyed this whole close-up idear, so if anyone has a character drawing request for me, I'd be happy to do it. Aka, I'll take requests!
Marscapone
Dunno if you ever finished that rendition of Marscapone. :whistling:
I have tooo many requests :p
/add to request counter.

I'd enjoy seeing how you envision Timil. :D Or perhaps Raila/Paulandra. :whistling:
So, in asking order: Sacho, Jilata, (maybe Wulfar,) and Caraick's Marsuveus. ;D

Uhh... Did my request not make the queue? :'( :innocent:
Look at page ten, dork. Though I could do him again...
Hey look kids, it'sthe antichristMarsuveus!
What? Doesn't he just look huggable? Aw, c'mon, give him a hug.

Psh. It's so obvious I'd do your request that I didn't even have to state it. Duh. ;D (Nah, nah, I'ma draw Timil. Cuz he's my favorite teddybeah.)
We all know Timil may be called many things, but he is first and foremost a teddy beah.
Timil is EVERYONE's favorite.
Timil is EVERYONE's favorite.
ehem... jealous?
Looks much better, especially the eyes \\o//
Maybe the distortion can be adjusted with some post processing, unless it is your artistic intention.
If you mean adjustment via some computer program, sadly I don't have one. It's just pencil and paper for me.
That is a truly awesome picture Mari. Seriously, I love how detailed you get with the fur, especially. Wow. You are seriously talented.
The image quality makes me want to weep bitter tears of bitterness, but before I shade it in I wanted to ask around and see if I wasn't the only one who felt like klyrans look better when they're more "reptillian." I don't really like the human faces, I think it looks kinda odd and disjunct. When I think klyros I think like Argonians from the elder scrolls games, just as a reference:
[...]
I wonder if that had been the reason why I haven't drawn a klyros yet. Somehow I never got to be pleased with my few attempts I did...
Mari, I heartily agree. The klyros' humanoid facial features always seemed out of keeping with the rest of their reptilian bodies.
\\o// Great stuff Mari
I positively adore how you did the claws and headfin. Evi's such an awesome character, and this sketch is so very good!
The round face thing is how I did Rathark's head description. (secretly stealing from argonians and The LIzard in spiderman. >.>)

Not her spear and magic helmet? :woot:
I quite love this pose. Very nicely done. It's probably my favorite of all the ones you've done, and I look forwards to the shaded version!
\\o//
She can gargoyle, but can she do the batman?
(its a trick question, there is only one batman)
:woot: Awesome ! Can't wait for the shaded version \\o// Wtg Mari
Love everything about it except whats with the nose?
Silly, silly humans.
Mariana, congrats. You now have a credible face.
A really good drawing. Only, I wonder if Klyros have such human-like lips. I would imagine them more or less without.
white eyes are mostly unfathomables, isn't it? Nice drawing!
@ Tessra:
It was just this kind of "Shut up!" attitude even against Esanor, the mute dwarf; just being present in the tavern seemed to be too loud of him for her state of that moment. Esanor avoids un-cheerful people. They tend to miss his easy point of view.
Have I told you lately how much I LOVE the way you've been doing the scales, Mari? Cause I do. Putting just a few here and there on the picture does wonders for giving it the impression of scaling, without having to "clutter" the whole body with them. I might just have to try it myself! :flowers:
and its funneh to watch her flail with teh menfolk hit on her
Also "I have a scanner now."
And regarding the colors ... ehm ... are Klyros ... "in season", sometimes? Probably. Birds and reptiles colorize too.
Knowing the OP's inflated ego, I bet it is Evirea he drew. Which again might have been obvious to everyone else.
Well, these things look like drawings of a nine year old. But apart from that... oh wait.. it's still awful.
Jealousy detected. As well as severe inability to read, as the uncolored one said who it was. And you want to be a guild leader? You don't start by going after one of the most respected and well liked roleplayers on the server. Don't know what the DE guys are thinking if they put you in charge. It'd be pitiful if I didn't hate idiots.
Now I can imagine that Felines Lair might have been a bit too ... conservative for her.
KITTIE LOVE!
Ah, I thought that might have been Evirea but at the same time I was thinking she might not wear an outfit like that. The things you learn. ::|
Nice fenki outfit though. As elvi has proven fenkis can sometimes use a little more covering up. But kieve was having fun when he redid the enki textures. :whistling:
Well, you don't see the rings in the screenshot. And the ... hmmm ... "gipsy" or "latina" outfit? Not sure, don't ask me about mode. But certainly not the most honest and virtuous. :innocent:
Mage's robes, now in bellydancer cut. FEEL THE MAGIC FLOW THROUGH YOU. (especially your hips.)
And I'm on tonight
You know my hips don't lie
And I'm starting to feel it's right
All the attraction, the tension
Don't you see baby, this is perfection
I remember a statement like: "Talad has them. Ask him to implement them." -- Was it in his deviantArt thread?
...But kieve was having fun when he redid the enki textures. :whistling:I may have gone slightly overboard on the Akkaio's attire (or lack thereof). I regret nothing.
I remember a statement like: "Talad has them. Ask him to implement them." -- Was it in his deviantArt thread?I've said it numerous times over the years. There are any number of reasons why he hasn't seen fit to use them.
If this Kieve fellow already has a lot of pre-made skins for fenkis and menkis...Misconception. I started revising fenki skins as a hobby project, but it'd be incorrect to say I have a lot. One outfit/skin for each - and the nice thing about photoshop layers (and working from the same UVW map) is it's a snap to mix and match. Base skin (/fur) + clothing layers (+optional recolor), I could have Rabani wearing Clamod outfits in about two minutes or less. That's not to say there's a wealth of stuff sitting on my drive, just that it's all easily interchangeable.
Why can't we just use them and implement them as, say, mage's robes?
Tell Kieve i say Hai! :offtopic:Hai. *waves paw and vanishes*
The breasts are lacking shades. Unless it is supposed to be a Klyros. Then you definitly need to add more boobs than just two.
Personally, I love pencil drawing techniques where the blending is done with textures instead. It can give a drawing much more character. Still, it's good to experiment with all techniques.
Now we'll add a tiny happy tree in here, and we'll surround it with some friends so it doesn't feel so lonely. And here we have this happy accident, but we'll just turn it into a little bird, because it's our painting.
Could you clarify what you mean by this?
On the topic of shading, I was wondering if any of you had any hints? As to how to make it look smoother and more blended as it were. I suck at shadery, and I'm trying to apply it to this drawing:
I suck at shaderyNo, you don't. Actually, this scribble looks pretty good. The proportions and shading of the face seem much better than in any of your drawings i have seen. Did you scan this one? It is a bit blurred. Also, since you mentioned you have a scanner, maybe you want to experiment with digital shading and colorization (also: Deforming and retouching can be helpful). Another good point is that you can experiment and undo things at will.
Originally I scanned it, but my scanner is such crap that it literally whited out almost all of the shading that was done.Adjusting the contrast and brightness after scanning the image might still look better, maybe it is worth a try.
Hmm... I can finally connect a face with the elusive character...
Looks great :)
Well, you didn't crack the lens. That says something :)
Dear overzealous moderator: [...]
P.S. Dear overzealous moderator, feel free to ban me if Mariana complains.
Art Request: Damola and Yenida, rough lineart. Will be painting.
Damola and Yenida as requested (dissatisfied with the lineart, I changed it. Hope you like it!)
Kinda looks like a rendered image :O
Damola and Yenida as requested (...)
*Boeven's jaw dropped. He never saw a ksibmil like this beauty. The perfect form of her auditory canals alone made his headfin raising completely, instantly whitening the usually greysh crest.
If you heart candy so much, you'd draw him boobz. >:(
NU U! U!
Draw Lilura!
The solid red was less overpowering with?outthe eyes.
asthmo
All these drawings and yet you still wouldn't draw Mishka...
All these drawings and yet you still wouldn't draw Mishka...
I'll add her to the list!
Admittedly this one is at least partially a gag. Gova kept mentioning his character in a loincloth, so I decided to draw it. :P
Please please draw Sarras wearing none of the clothes in her description.
(Goes down on his knees.)
Please, i humbly ask you too draw mine too (with his new robe). It would be an honour too be in your art collection and i do admit that me asking now is partly because dem also got one too. That and that i for some reason like looking at my characters drawn.
Now then, i shall humbly wait in the corner. (Gets up, walks into the corner and starts setting up a tent in preparations for what is too come.)
(http://i.imgur.com/gADszIj.jpg)This is far out of proportions. The face is too big in relation to the rest of the body, the face itself looks weirdly skewed, the eyes are too wide and he looks like he has a hunchback. All in all, you should really study some anatomy.

Sorta the point of speed sketching all these characters, Donari. :P That's how you get better.Strange. And I thought getting better involved drawing better things.
Strange. And I thought being a part of a community meant being supportive or at least helpful.D'aw. You're right, I'm sorry. I actually love Evirea's art, I'm just jealous I can't draw like she can.
