Sudden malfunction of mouse and camera IG

Okay, so... Here's the thing.
I tried to play PS, and everything was reset. My screen resolution was wrong, ect. ect.
That was just the beginning.
After that, when I fixed the screen resolution and such, I got in game and EVERYTHING WAS WRONG.
Everything.
I started out in first person, which I rarely ever play in, and I know I didn't play in it last. When I switched to third person follow, it lagged a lot, and when I turned, it was almost like I was using free rotation. I could actually see the front of my character. That's not supposed to happen.
Another thing.
I tried to read the description of my character, but the only thing my mouse could click on effectively was the HUD. Also annoying. Now, I like PlaneShift, I really do. So could someone please help me fix it?
I don't think it is in a 'playable' situation right now.   
If you need a better description to help me, I'll do my best.

Go through the launcher settings and make sure everything is set to your liking. Go through the game options too.

You can switch camera modes with the M buttom (defualt). There are 3 different 3rd person view modes so you have to toggle until you feel it works for you.

What exactly happens when you try to click on your character?

Maybe your config files got reset / deleted.
Try to restore previous versions, from a time when everything was working to your liking.
Under Windows, right-click the file(s), select "Restore previous versions", follow the on-screen instructions.

Sorry, I cannot tell you the name of the file(s) like this, and I cannot check right now... Still, maybe this helps. Good luck.

What exactly happens when you try to click on your character?

Nothing happens. Nothing at all. It fails to respond in any way, shape, or form. It doesn't bring up the normal menu, nor does it even show the character name in the information section. It doesn't even select my character.

Also, if I can't restore a previous version, what else could I do to try and fix it?

By the way, I've managed to mostly get my third person follow camera mode working again, after monkeying with the IG options for a while.   
Unfortunately I still can't read descriptions, select characters/npcs/items, or even see the names that should be floating above the heads of every living creature.

By selecting the options setting that makes it so that I always see the names that float above people and objects, I've managed to get it so I can read their names. However I still can't select the little pop-up menu that would allow me to, say, talk with and NPC, trade with a character, or read the description of a number of things, including myself.

My problems occur both in fullscreen and in windowed mode.

Also, can I just maybe suggest a command to add?
One so that you can type it in and it, say, opens up the menu that would pop up if you clicked on an npc, item, or player. If there is already one, please tell me what it is.

Luckily there are lots of other commands already in existence that allow you to buy, sell, select, and check storage.
As far as I can tell there aren't any that allow you to open up the description of an item, or view the inside of the container, though, which is what I'm suggesting here.

Edit: Also, maybe one so that you can select doors...
Also, maybe not one to read descriptions, but something like '/opencontainer' to open a container, like, say, a picnic basket?
I realize there is a '/targetinfo' which can be used to read and write descriptions.

/targetcontext Very useful, also to read books etc. As you probably know, you can use target commands instead of left click to select entities.

/target prev/next  item/npc/playerAlso, if you toggle mouselook (i.e. rotating the camera with the mouse, default key: Tab), left click will select nearby entities, even though no mouse pointer is visible. Maybe this is related to the issues you observe, and toggling mouelook might even fix that.
