[Here is the thread for putting IC signatures for attendees of the Ball (http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=40434.0). I'd like to keep a record of everyone who came, especially since many haven't been seen for awhile. I'd prefer to do this in game but none of the in game options seemed viable for this.]
*You see an open book sitting on the table. It contains fine lined paper. At the top of each pages is the writing "Name:" and below it are many lines.*
-
There are publicly editable books; but they have to be picked up to be edited. Too dangerous with catch-as-catch-can noobs...

An Enkidukai in a grinning mask with strings of bones over fur dyed black with warmly-colored stripes approaches the book and looks side to side, making sure that no one is around.
She writes "Fyrre Tygyrr Tijorra", and draws the ugly face of a widely smiling striped fenki with big eyes beside it.
More quickly, she adds "Burrt Panterru," also sketching a portrait of a handsome menki with the shape of a bird on his face, and runs off.
-
A Ylian, clothed in layers of gauzy lilac chiffon drifts silently through the crowd to the book. She wears a mask with the [slightly sacrilegious] effigy of Dakkru crowned with crystals. She flips through the book, noting who has been signing it, smiling at some names, smirking at others. After a time, she begins looking about for a quill. Seeing none, and certainly not having one stored in her skirts, she calls up a bit of magic, forming a perfect ice-crystal quill between her fingers. She pricks it into the skin of her forearm, and using the small welling of blood, writes in an firm, upright hand:
Tesh.
She frowns to herself, and after a moments hesitation scratches it out, and replaces it with a decidedly more elegant:
~Teshia Dastrid~
-
A female diaboli, missing one of her horns and wearing a dress adorned with fire carcass feathers walks up to the guestbook and enters in a clean handwriting:
Telena Rakn
-
"Stellan Aristo" fills up most of one page. Underneath in the same handwriting: "Compliments to the organizers."
-
A little Ylian child of around 6-7 cycles enters the masquerade, plays a bit with the smoke coming from a vase and falls asleep somewhere there, not noticing the guest book.
-
A slight klyros moves towards the book, clothed from head to toe in a violet, flowing gown. Her finely detailed and decorated wings splay outwards as she begins flipping through it, taking careful observation of the names, confident in the anonymity that her smiling, impish mask grants her. Bright eyes flick upwards towards the milling crowd, and she taps the book with her quill for a moment, considering, weighing different possibilities and problems that signing the thing may generate. Finally, she merely sticks her blue-steel carakas quill back into the pack hidden beneath her sash and turns away, resuming an owlish vigil of the milling audience.
-
Green-blue webbed fingers close around the provided quill, cheeks dimple with delight as she contemplates the miniature artwork painted ever so delicately on sky blue polished nails. How Detiey would have adored this simple elegant display of femininity, if only she were here the nolthrir thought. She next meticulously scribes each letter of the name she's gone by and grown to accept as the lone link to her past. She sets the quill aside and starts to leave, then reconsiders as a thought comes and turns back. Plucking then pressing a few smaller starphire petals against the parchment, she fosters a concentration of red way heat under her palm. Following slight wisps of escaping smoke, then bending to puff away the now withered petals, she admires a darkened aura left behind around the edge where the petals had been, now intermingled with the letters, defining their form forever in the parchment.
