Post by: Venalan on January 26, 2017, 05:14:46 pm
Some things I've been working on for you to check out.

Some lighting effects.

And a new wall so you can see over the plaza from the platform with the tavern.

Suddenly the prices for torches rise ... a little bit more ambient lighting would be appreciated in the night. :D

The temple lights look divine. However, will there be such pitch-black darkness on the Dome?

That was my point. I hope we don't have to carry them with us all night to find the roads.

The ambient light shown in the pictures is not a representation of what the game will look like. It's me turn off all the light to see the extent of the lighting influence from the effects... And to take some cool pics.

I would nevertheless really appreciate both night and day to be a bit darker than atm, because now it seems like all the races have night vision. And the Crystal light during the day still burns my Lemur eyes out.

Stop focusing on the lighting so much! Or....... ELSE!

Can we see something with a moonlight-like ambient lighting, as well as any items giving off light?

Less focus on light, more focus on ... shadows? Hard and sharp. And more realistic than pre-baked and wrongly assigned lightmaps.

The two images displaying a lantern and fire are dynamically giving off light, is that what you meant as items giving off light or more carrying a torch and walking about?

The unreal engine has beautiful lighting. It will be interesting to see how the transition to a new engine looks in it's final form.

What I mean is that I want to see more lighting situations: crepuscular, night time, "solar" eclipse (should still have a low level of light), and night time with lamps and/or torches. If it's not much to ask.
