Complaint Department / Re: no longer a noob - this is my experience of PS
« on: January 13, 2009, 10:10:40 am »
This was a very well written post and the view that teh RP vs PL debate is strongest on the forums is very accurate. I have found that the Powerlevelers will glady play along and chat in character when you talk to them in their enviroment, e.g. the PLatinum Mine, keep it in character and coax it along. I have said previously in the forums that I am a Player turned RPer, I never forget my roots, I use mechanics as was said by one person to grow my character through the course of time, But I prefer to talk and interact with those around me.

Zahii Thank you for being qbjective and very clear in your post.

Development Team Blog / Re: Description Expansion
« on: January 08, 2009, 11:12:56 am »
The only problem I am goin to mention about the default description is the amount of information there that the other players wouldn't know upon meeting you, as well the spell mights tell you what faction they are more sympathetic towards but it shouldn't really tell them that they were born during a raid, had an incident with the wrong twin, just the results from those experiences that are selected could be possible.

The descriptions tab gets modified because when a person reads it it is a snapshot of what the person looks like now. Not goin to argue about the use for backstory and what not. Just that the Nature intuition should give the same sort of current snapshot, albiet more in depth to the person psychology and some of their preferred past times, factions and gods, not an entire print out of a persons past, I would see that as a new skill that would be developed as a seer [probably a spell to with it] but not the current spell of Nature intuition as I understand it.

Thanks for listening.

In-Game Roleplay Events / Re: [Event] Blessings of the Goddess
« on: January 02, 2009, 07:35:58 pm »
Hrothbert walks slowly back to his Guilds house, other event that he must attend this day, But still his mind wanders to the events of the last few hours:

Was he truly wishing to follow the Goddess or just receive further blessing??
If it were the latter would this be the reason he was deceived??
Had he spoken up when the thought came to him would things have turned out different??
What must he do now to earn back the respect he has lost from Xiosia??
Was this one step the start of a slippery slide into the pit of darkness where who knows what fate awaits him??

These questions and many others cloud his mind as he turns the key to the guildhouse.

"Surprise!" He is startled; but more from being brought back to reality than the excited shouts of his friends.

'Hrothbert Come stand by me' Daniequy says, Hrothbert does so putting a smile on his face for all his friends.

'Today we have a promotion......' Daniequy continues talking, Hrothbert only half listens to know where his cue will be, His mind ever falling back to think about and ponder this emptiness that is inside him, and what must he do now to fill that void once again.

General Discussion / Re: When did we decide the game was too easy?
« on: December 26, 2008, 12:00:43 pm »
Amdemir I understand staying on the dome level because it has yet another set of Bronze doors near by, as well as the other two and the only entrances to the stone Labrynths are on the first level that does make sense, Gugrontrid can fit an stay well on the first level being that the first level is the largest and in no need of more space, It was just an observation that it may be moved from its current location. As far as far reaches of the Dome level it would depend on which side of center you are on that would be considered the far reaches, if everything is judged from hydlaa then anything on the other side of center near to the the edge of the dome would be considered far reaches. So for any future cities that are on the dome we may start seeing them being set where they belong and are going to stay, especially those tied to the Bronze doors Fortresses.

General Discussion / Re: Merry Xiosiamas
« on: December 26, 2008, 11:50:55 am »
Ok for Xiosia she has a habit of showing up 'in the flesh' She did so a few times during the riverling storyline.

For the RPness of said event I agree with the last post on a couple of points:

1] Xiosia is considered a minor God, at least by what I have read in the books , So to do all this giving and blessing in the plaza instead of in the secret garden is a bit odd, especially near the Statue and temple of Laanx.

2] Xiosia appears to be attempting to collect more followers, and unless Laanx blesses her subjects in a similar way, which I doubt she will it is not in Laanxs character for this kind of gifting, It appears Xiosia may gain those followers.

3] Seeing some sort of recourse from Talad or Laanx would be nice, either by their Avatars showing up or through a new storyline of cryer reports in the Plaza or what not, Would make this event to be more palatable to the RPers.

4] Giving of talents was a nice effect being that the Goddess now appears to favour certain people, Being the pantheology that Yliakum has this is all within context and very fitting, and would cause certain ramifications.

Well theres my take and thanks for listening to those that do.

I want to echo the thanks of Arerano and Mythryndel, The GM and the DEV put alot of time and effort into the game as a whole and to take the break that they did to give the guilds houses as requested on these forums put some other items on the back burner for a month or so.

Again thanks and as Vonor said Please do learn from this experience, all of us.

Ok I am goin to interject here with a little bit of research I did though I know it may be a little OOC for me.

I took an alotment of time, i.e the time it to to collect as much loot as my main character could carry from trepors, And then spent the same amount of time at the mines here is what I received for my efforts.

1: from the trepor loot I collect just over 10k in tria, completely cashed out tria in hand

2: From the mining for the same amount of time I collected 7 platinum ores, not smelted or cast or sold just the ores,

Now even at the price the refined platinum sells at 7x1280+8960 tria, but that would have taken more time to melt and cast which in hunting could have had another load or half a load to sell again.

So I apologize if now I am creating a whole lot of hunters to go out there and wipe every creature off the map over and over again but like OtM said mining works, so does smelting, and casting and selling, platinum ingots, Running around the maps trying to find somethign to fight and loot on the other hand might cause a different lag on the system trying to calculate that many creature spawns or magic effects or weapon strikes, and would create more of a chance for RP in a different way, creatig hunting parties that actually hunt.

Well just some thoughts from someone who 'tested' a theory.

I am a fighter and I hate the mines so finding a different source of funds was necessary, but the training I receive is more incidental now than powerlevelling because doin the same thing over and over again makes my brains ooze out my ears and I don't feel like playing the game anymore.

post count +1??? Hmm thats different mathamatics, So if I post count to say 20 add 1 then post again the next time I would have to count the posts in between my last two posts in order to find out how many more I have to add or just add 1 to the amount of posts in between my last two posts? Sounds to complicated I will just interject as I see fit and have a decent silly response to the topic at hand.

Some of the DR material contradictory as well, and also one of the science books were very primitive and somewhat disturbing.

Now lets not get childish about the silliness, Lets all act like the mature people we are and be silly in an appropriate manner and at the appropriate time, Silly does not have to be insulting, but it also doesn't have to be on topic either,

So everyone grow up and be silly properly.

I will NEVER travel to Saturn now...

Like it was really an option before.... But ya the multiple thousands of debris floating around the planet create alot of different magnetic disturbances and thus a very 'eerie' sounding 'recording'

He is right this was simply a promotional thread, just information for the masses not a question to be debated over, But if he didn't want discussion or debates one would wonder why it wasn't locked right of the start so that no one could debate the topic, Hmm what a paradox.
