As you can see below, I tend not to listen to music until I've connected it to something else, or perhaps I just don't go on vague quests for "music in general".

  • Heroes of Might and Magic - If you have the game cd and cd player, it gets all the dog-pitch sounds right. Something I haven't encountered with only one other music:
  • Might and Magic VI - Got the high pitches right.
  • Heroes of Might and Magic II - The sounds tend to be very harsh, but composed well like its predecessor.
  • Heroes of Might and Magic III - Better sound, and composed very well.
  • Might and Magic VIII - Unlike the previous MM and HoMM music, it adds a rhythm and a beat. Not any worse for wear because of it.
  • Jeremy Soule's music for Oblivion - Some of them are good, but I found them to be empty after multiple hearings.
  • Age of Mythology (by an unknown band) - They make very good ambiance.
  • The Mind's Eye series - I found myself coming back to Afternoon Adventure, Magic Theatre, Moon Base, and a few others.
  • Cowboy Bebop - Only Bindy, Stella by Moor, The Egg and I, Memory, and occasionally Green Bird. They tend to invoke good emotions and half images in me.
  • Almost everything by The Video Game pianist. He is a great player, and composer.
  • Fur Elise played by Valentina Lisitsa - A classic that I apparently woke up to as a toddler.
  • The Elder Scrolls played by Paskal van Stekelenburg - It rises well.
  • Morrowind - A few pieces.
  • Starcraft - The main three Terran pieces. They make me think of the Awesome residing in humanity.
  • Shadow of the Colossus - Almost all of it; beautifully composed and perfectly fitting.
  • Myst.
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee - Fountain of Dreams and Mother 2 are the best, a few others are good. They tend to take the game involved and embellish it.
  • Super Smash Bros. (N64) - Kirby's music, and the unlockable Mario map music.
  • Portal - The calming puzzle music pieces are decent, but what I really enjoyed was the radio, oddly enough.
  • Infinity; The Quest for Earth - This game's still in development, but that meant some pieces were posted in threads and the like. The ones in the game are best, Yu Chen, Mirrored, and Koji are good too.
  • One of the old Kirby games - The Yogurt Forest!
  • A Fifth of Beethoven by Walter Murphy.
  • Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - The entire game has very imprinting music, I like twinarova, the soul shop, Kepora Gebora, the Windmill, the Temple of Time, the Market, the forest temple, the forest...
  • Dwarf Fortress - Tarn Adams on the six-string guitar is extremely hypnotic.
  • The Flight to Neverland by John Williams.
  • The Raider's March by John Williams.

Listen to the two Plane Shift pieces in the "main" folder at the same time. It is good.

Heh, the xkcd guy only listens to music in Guitar Hero games, and he is fairly awesome.

Don't let this thread die, people! After all, it's Kiern/Waterman's third greatest contribution to Planeshift (after getting banned and starting the "It's Planeshift....guys." thread)!

Anyway,
Lyle Workman - Superwhat? Bootsy <3 <3
Slynk - Jackson Jump Reconstruction V2
A Skillz & Nick Thayer - Yap That Fool
Public Enemy - Harder Than You Think
DJ M@r - My Strength Is Breakdance
George Clinton - Paint The White House Black
Dan Hartman - Relight My Fire

and of course

The Lonely Island - Jizz In My Pants
AKA Skald

Yup, this thread is almost as great as annah's thread. Also, I think we can safely say Draklar's taste has just taken a plummet since he's been away.

For me:
Tegan and Sara
Royksopp
Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack

I don't know about sc1, but the terran themes in sc2 remind me a lot of Firefly... This is a good thing.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place
