If they were seperate, advisors would have a tough time advising.

Platinum isn't near the winch. Ask someone in game, they'll tell you.

That would work out. The actual guild is more meant to be for full-timers. I'll also do events and things in the guild. But the organization would be good for freelancers and people that just like to play music in the tavern and similar things like that. I'm willing to discuss this with you, and lead both projects with somewhat different goals if that would work out with you.

;) It does. I play at least every other day for at least an hour, although at unusal times. I've been setting up booths at the plaza, which has attracted some attention as well. If you are willing to join, contact Serq in game, and we'll work it out. I'm afraid we don't have a swarming guild population, but I plan out little events and gigs, so there's often something to do.

Oh, and ask about my books. I have a lot for sale now!  :P I have no books and everyone wants them, now I have them and nobody asks...

Does this idea still exist?

I'm not sure if Sangwa is still running this; the Bard specific Guilds seem to have disappeared (apologies to anyone if this is not the case). You might want to consider either running one yourself or speaking to the Imperial Scholars, whose Arts Path offers the following: "The embodiment of imagination and self expression, directly linked to cultural development. Concerned topics: Painting, acting, singing, literature, etc."

There is a guild based on the same topic. Right here. I play at weird times and in odd locations, which is maybe why you haven't seen me, although recently I've been setting up booths in the plaza.

Although I do think the organization is a good idea. I've found recruiting for the guild challenging because nearly everyone is happily guilded. I could try this organization as well, maybe lead it, and keep certain differences between the two, with your permission Sangwa.

Ask Serq Feht if he would plan another singles event for during that time.  ;D

 :P

I think the winch being opened for a day would be a good idea. I've never been there. How's the lag?

The idea of a market selling some of the new products is good. I could sell some books, now that they're workable.

I think it's a good idea. Don't take this the wrong way. But I'm really not expecting a large turnout from your target audience. You'll still have a great festival, but few, if any lost oldbies may appear. But I hope there's good turnout.

Forum and Website Discussions / On Preventing Repeats
« on: July 23, 2008, 01:18:39 am »
On the recent rash of "let's be nice on the forums" threads, I've made an observation. Many of the offending mosts are done to people who utterly failed to do a search. Perhaps, by lessening the load of 'mobs imperv' threads, a lot of the 'people are nasty' problems will be gone. So, this is my suggestion:

There is a system that prevents people from PMing until they make 10 non-spam posts. Well, what if, following this vein, every time someone with under 10 posts tries to write something, the page redirects. It redirects to a page that asks if the person making the post used the search engine for posts on the same topic, and maybe contains a link to the advanced search page. Then, the poster has to enter their password, at which point the post is posted. It won't eliminate all of them, but it will reduce a fair amount of repeats.

General Discussion / Re: Maces
« on: July 22, 2008, 03:09:15 pm »
I haven't yet seen maces in game.

But Bragan, a morning star type mace would have sharp parts.

I agree that training should be cheaper and faster. It takes a lot of work to get amazing with a sword in real life. But anyone can swing around a hunk of metal. Of course it would still take a load of time and money to get up high, but it shouldn't cost as much as bladed weapons.

I think that light armor would be more weak against bladed weapons than blunt ones. But heavy armor should be weak against maces and the like.

General Discussion / Re: How did you find planeshift?
« on: July 10, 2008, 11:22:14 am »
I was bored, so I googled free mmorpg, and the second page was the Wikipedia page for Planeshift. I read it, and the thing that got me was how the death realm was handled.
