I don't think there should be any separation, and it would be a lot of effort to do so, I am sure. If someone is inviting a friend or relative to experience the game, it could be crucial to them.
And that's the best point of all. I was brought into PS by a dear friend of mine [Edig looks at the way back machine] and I was unable to ask him questions at the time I first entered the game.
I do like that I was forced to learn it on my own so I had a sense of accomplishment, but it would have been nice to have an old friend at my side in case my character needed to have an rp emotional breakdown, but otherwise, I HAD to learn how to play the game and interact with the NPC's and how to smelt, fight (you tricky people... there goes my not wanting to fight theory) and even talk to the npc's.
There is argument for both sides, but one must also ask, what is the purpose of the Tut? If you don't like it, always make sure you have a char in your account so you don't have to keep going through it. If you're new, your not really going to know the difference unless in the above scenerio.
* Edig shrugs and thinks there are better things to worry about.
