From what I've seen Shaiya has some nice environments. I've managed to get it to work under linux with wine (though I had to get some stuff via winetricks (IIRC DirectX9 and probably Mono/VCR stuffs as well) to keep it from crashing too frequently)
Edit: Ah yeah, right. I forgot to mention the game's anti cheating protection is pretty much a root kit (Check GameGuard on Wikipedia to get more info about that)

WoW, AO, PE - none about RPing so why RP there?
Well you would have the option of playing ain a WoW RP realm, ..., but noone, really does.

I've been playing WoW for quite some time, and I must say that I just didn't RP there because the game mechanics made for a better experience than some half-assed pseudo storywriting, which it would have probably turnt into if I had tried to force RP into WoW.
Needless to say that I never RPed in Counter Strike for obvious reasons.

The one thing that really keeps me away from RPing or PS in general is that the community seems to have a mySpace-ish over-estimation of their online presence (Characters in this case...). Everyone's taking it too damn serious. I mean seriously, is it so terrible when another character has a problem with your character that you oughta have a personal problem with that character's player?

Seriously, I am kinda unsettled by the OOC part, either you are dragging RP stuff into OOC, or your dragging your own issues in, and both is something I am not really content with. I hate to play the dumbass bouncer, but keep your issues outside.
