I still don't think that's a bad thing. Besides if you made the best ones extremely rare drop. maybe 1 in 200. you still wouldn't have that much stock.

Wish list / useful glyph drops from bosses
« on: August 05, 2017, 08:41:50 pm »
I noticed that xalpalok drops an armor glyph. This is not particularly useful as by the time someone can face xalpa if they are a mage they will have certainly bought it from levrus. Then I thought about the market the other day with a glyph auction. I propose making other unpurchasable glyphs drop from boss monsters. xalpalock marangma one claw etc. a glyph in their bodies would help explain why they are more powerful too. Normal variation doesn't tend to produce one monster ten times as strong as all others of its race after all. Since it takes beating a boss and could be a rare drop it would still encourage low level players to quest for glyphs without making quests the only realistic way to acquire glyphs besides the 6 purchasable ones at levrus.

your right about that, they basically want puppets that move on command rather than people with a will of their own. much easier to do whatever they want that way.

I recommend against this, carelessly using any sort of magic ritual can come with frightening consequences. Demons don't like being messed with and tend to pay it back in kind. In addition an amateur probably can't tell the difference between a demon and another type of spirit. At the very least limit it to a seance, and preferable cleanse the place with holy water afterwards.

i'll try in a sec what you mentioned, as for targeting neither commands nor mouse works and i can't even right click anything except the doors. i apologize for the misspeaking as i do call up the menu not target them. I have checked my mouse settings and even reset them but everything looks right. I think it may be my open gl thing and will have to double check it somehow.

as the topic says i can't target things, the only exception so far is doors, this means no players no furniture no any of that. I have tried a full reinstall, deleting options.cfg and more. The only thing that i can think of that changed is i set some aliases for the first time yesterday in the buddy list. I deleted the file holding them but still no luck. any ideas? I even tried un and reinstalling planeshift and tried a 32 bit version. Hoping you have some ideas cause otherwise i'm gonna be unable to play planeshift.

Wish list / shadowcaster enchant zone
« on: September 24, 2015, 04:39:04 pm »
remember how the ruins from that event had both types of enchanter in them? I'm wondering if there could be some sort of event where it become available for shadow casters to use. This would allow shadow casters to enchant things without having to walk into what is essentially a circle stronghold they might have been banned from rp wise. It would also be capable of allowing all types of enchanting which only a shadow caster could need. Access after the event itself would require at minimum acquiring the two enchanting books somehow and having sufficient skill to use them for at least rubies. This would help enchanters who don't get along with the circles due to their restrictions on magic continue to practice their arts without such a strange situation rp wise. I am also thinking that there could be some sort of approval system to be a shadowcaster in a group similar to the circles but sort of rival.

Wish list / Re: Recycling Loot
« on: September 24, 2015, 03:43:28 pm »
I'm opposed to it being an npc thing, i think craftsmen who can create something should be able to break it down. there is a way to recycle the parts in smithing at least, just add dismantle of a full weapon with a suitable ql penalty, and if its a ql 50 or so item a chance of outright disintegrating. its low quality to begin with so there's no guarantees it will succeed. If it does give the appropriate pieces, if not lets say half the stocks that would go into it rounded up or in the case of knives and dagger just toss them 2 ingots. the enchant stuff would be nice to have a salvageable gem that could be set in another item but that could be a lot more complex and a bit excessive. and the socket would be lost, lets face it, its trash compared to the enchantment its holding.

Wish list / Re: Make Alloys with Molten Metal

how about just using the ingots? you do that with platinum steel alloying anyway so theoretically it should be possible unless its a problem with multiple recipes giving the same result, in the first place i think forcing you to purify the metal into an ingot is a good thing, who wants to use a sword that still has rock in it ?

Complaint Department / heavy armor training overnerfed
« on: September 24, 2015, 03:22:54 pm »
its actually reached the point where i have to attack wait and run to get any pp in heavy armor and it barely moves after 3 repeats. My heavy armor is 128 and the only enemy that can train it that i know of is the bandits in outlaw camp. and it barely moves. i get that you had a problem with people afk armor training but i think if your going to make it necessary to fight such powerful enemies you should at least increase the gains for doing so. part of the reason people afked in the first place is because it was boring. If you want to fix this problem at the root, you need to make it more interesting, naturally that's a challenge so until an idea emerges, please increase the pp growth of armor training. I used to train honorably some times in the arena but now even the things that can kill me while i'm watching there don't train it. The one way i know would take hours to even gain a couple skill points. That means for a noticeable improvement in my defenses i might have to train a solid day. This is unbearable, and unless something is done i simply won't be improving my defense period. I'm not even a combat lover in the first place but im ok with enemies i can actually defeat, i cant even beat elite gladiators in the arena and they don't help train.
