Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Unable to start PS
« on: July 14, 2007, 09:38:55 pm »
Making new threads about the same problem(s) won't make it go any faster. For updated information on the mac client check this out. Whenever the problem's solved, that's where it'll be announced, and you might see it first in any of the other threads discussing this particular topic. Having multiple threads only makes the information harder to find.

General Discussion / Re: Fighting on Plaza ALWAYS OOC???
« on: July 09, 2007, 05:33:25 pm »
As a GM, I'm all for supporting evildoers do their IC bad deeds all over the stalactite. Feel free to PM me or contact me on IRC if you have a plot in the making and need some advice or clearance to make sure you are not breaking any rules or to prevent potential OOC conflicts. I do not have all the answers but I can certainly ask around for you and let the team know what you are planning so your RP can unfold with good results.

This means you might need to compromise certain aspects of your RP in order to fit game settings/game rules and whatnot but, having experienced this before becoming a GM, I find that all player events that are run through GMs/Devs find better outcomes and less unnecessary OOC discussions. Note that not all Devs. or GMs may be able to help you due to other responsibilities they may have but I will do my best to help out, so feel free to try me first.

Same applies with goodie-goodies who want to have a goodie-goodie player event, btw.

Bastel arrives at the tavern and makes himself comfortable in a room. He unpacks a few things, dusting the drawers with his gloves. He grabs a piece of paper and draws what seems to be a chart of some sort:

He puts the quill down and smiles to himself. "Let's see what Chuar and Pirill come up with now".

In-Game Roleplay Events / [Event] Bastel's Gambling House

A middle aged merchant bumps into two dwarfs outside the tavern:

- Oh! you scared me there, brother.- Bastel says, making a bow right after recognizing one of the dwarfs.

- Oh sorry brother!- Cuhar says.

- How are you today?- the merchant asks.

Pirill coughs "I don't think we've met yet...", he mutters.

- Fine, thanks brother... ah sorry, this is my guild brother and good friend Pirill.- Cuhar adds, turning to his friend.

Bastel smiles "Me name's Bastel Daen, entrepreneur. At your service"

- Pleased to meet you Bastel, Cuhar speaks highly of you...he says you have great plans for us dwarfs

- Come brother, let's have an ale- Cuhar suggests.

- Oh, ale, that's right!- Bastel says, looking into his pack- Have a taste, me friends- he says, pulling out an unmarked bottle.

- Thank you but I still have a bit myself- says Pirill.

- Oh, but you've never tasted anything like this. Thanks to me friend here, I could get all I needed. This is Golden Hammer.

Pirill takes a sip of the ale with caution that turns into surprise.

- Mmm...this is very good!

Bastel looks around and then whispers: "Interested in some more work, me friends?"

- Of course brother, it's always good to make business with you- Cuhar replies.

Bastel smiles: "Then follow me, this is a job for just a few trusted ones". After saying this, he leads the dwarfs into an alley where he can go into details without prying eyes.

- Well, as you know -he starts explaining- I needed to gather ingredients to make my Golden Hammer a few weeks ago. Now that I have them and my brew is ready, I have been looking for a great location for my Gambling House. And well, I have found a great spot. So everything is starting to come together.

- That's great news brother. A dwarf tavern is what we need here.- Cuhar says.

- Aye, and it is time to start hiring now. But I can only hire people worth of my trust.

Both dwarfs nod at Bastel's words.

- I shall do what is needed to earn your trust,brother...- Pirill adds.

- I do not know this town very well since I tavel so much... So that's where I need your help and your discretion -he pauses for a few seconds- ...I need you to be my headhunters and find the best staff to work in me gambling house.

- Hmm...that's not going to be easy... - Pirill observes.

- You are to find suitable prospects to take care of the patrons: entertain them, wait on them, serve them drinks, and so on. I cannot open the gambling house until I find them. I know it can take a while, but that's not a problem. And if you find the right prospects I will hire you as the gambling house heads of staff.

- That would be a honour for us brother!- Cuhar says.

- Me and Cuhar will do our best to find good staff!- Pirill adds excited.

- Excellent! Here's what I need: two bards, two bartenders, two female dancers, four waiters or waitresses and one main entertainer. The waiters and waitresses must have experience and know how to handle a drunken crowd. The bartenders must be good adding tabs and never mess up the orders. The dancers need to be attractive and skilled. And the main entertainer must know excellent dice games and how to entertain a crowd. You are to find canditates and have them come for an interview with me. I would like to hire a varied crowd: Klyros, Ynwnn, Xacha, Enkis, anything goes.

- We shall try finding them as quick as possible- Pirill says.

- I have to go out of town for a week but I'll be back in a few days. I'll be staying at Kada-El's. I'll send word to you as soon as I get back into town. Here's a little expense money should you need to do any traveling -Bastel says, handing Cuhar a small pouch of trias- Buy yerselves some drinks once you find the candidates. I'm trusting you, friends, don't let me down.

- We will do our best to find all the staff so fast as possible- Cuhar promises- You can trust on us brother!

Bastel smiles.

- Excellent! Now I should get going. I can't wait to see who you find!

- Ok brother have a nice trip!- Cuhar adds.

- Thanks. Farewell me friends!

Bastel picks up his pack and takes a bow, walking off.

As he disappears from their sight after turning around in a corner, Pirill puts his gloves back on and turns to Cuhar:

- Well mate looks like we've got a new adventure.

Complaint Department / Re: Where are the GM events?
« on: June 02, 2007, 01:10:32 pm »
And remember that not all of them are one-day events and there are those that require a couple of weeks or more to fully unfold. Keep an eye on the forums to find out about those and you might be able to join even if you missed the first part.
