The Era of the Warden
As you walk through the streets of Hydlaa, you may happen to find an old and withered letter, yet the writing on it still seems to be well readable.
Dear friend,
as to your inquest concerning the Empire, I have asked a few questions (I was careful not to be too inquisitive as you requested) as well as obtained some literature from the library which might help you in your investigation.
An exerpt from "Imperial History (Revised Edition)":
The absence of the Emperor, whom many Imperials at that time had never seen, did in no conceivable way contribute to the reversing of the decline that had started with Roberet Goldsmith replacing our beloved chancellor Parallo Dorage.
After a dreadful period of inactivity in which the Empire's name was but mentioned in tales to frighten the innocent, the Inner Circle, always keeping a watchful eye on the Imperial Cause from lands far away and uncharted, decreed that her highness Seria de Belores, the first Imperial Warden, assume power in place of the Emperor in his absence.
She arrived finding nothing but an abandoned and looted headquarters, but with the infinite resources and deep pockets of the Inner Circle, order was swiftly restored.
A quick investigation in certain establishments, which should be avoided by the faint hearted and married, yielded that the late Roberet Goldsmith pawned all of the Empire's possessions to finance perversions too twisted to be written down. Our Warden, forgiving and just, decreed the House of Goldsmith to be stripped of all its honours and titles but the one it most treasured, the one of court jesters, so that Roberet and his children may amuse the Warden and her council into all eternity.
The Council then decided to revoke the erroneous decrees of the last Emperor, restoring the religious neutrality of the Empire and reestablishing the four forces.
With the Imperial Order thus restored, the Empire was again ready to pursue the Imperial Cause.
The Dark Empire and its structure as laid down by Imperial Structure Decree
As decreed by the Warden and her Inner Council, the Empire has four fundamental branches that manage its affairs:
- The Imperial Trades, whose task it is to manage the Emprie's economy and finances
- The Arcane Force, which deals with all the matters of the mind
- The Shadow Force that keeps an eye on the Empire's enemies
- The Steel Force that defends and fights in the name of the Empire
The Empire itself is ruled by the Inner Council, which consists of its most honoured members as well as the Warden and the Overlords of the four forces, two members of which I was able to identify. Jilata Rerek, Overlord of the Imperial Trades, and Seria de Belores, the Warden.
The Empire maintains a strict hierarchical order, the Warden oversees the Empire's activities and determines how to best advance the Imperial Cause, whereas the four Overlords govern their forces with largely autonomously.
I have considered joining their ranks to obtain a complete list of those on the Inner Council for you, I shall approach either Seria, the Warden, or Jilata directly, maybe even leave a note for them on their doorstep.

First entry
The Dark Empire. As of today, the name once again shall be said with pride by those that belong to it, amazement by those that know it, and fear by those that are against it.
When I was first tasked with managing the Empire, I could hardly believe I would ever be up to the task. Now, I feel more confident than ever. The Inner Council has advised me wisely. It was not easy to restore order after the reign of the Houses of Greenmoon and Goldsmith had left our Empire filled with corruption and inefficiency. It was a hard, laborous task to remove the festerous limbs from our body, but nonetheless, we finally stand healthy again.
Our ranks are full of talent once more, not void husks that leech off our wealth and reputation. Captain Suno Regin of the Imperial Guard, Overlord of the Steel Force. Recently returned from a long assigment and quite experienced and skilled. Primatus of House Galeranson, Overlord of the Arcane Force, a most promising young mage. Jilate Rerek, Overlord of the Shadow Force, rarely seen, but quite often not by her absence. And myself as Warden and temporary Overlord of the Imperial Trades. We are truly set for whatever we might face,
Second entry
In recognition of our superiority, the Rangers of Yliakum have decided to bow to our might and assimilate into our ranks. Their members shall serve the Empire and their assets shall become ours.
I would surely say this is a good omen to finally announce my upcoming coronation as Empress.

The Emperor's chamber is dimly lit by a single candle in the dark of the night. In the shine of the table sits Donari, studying a sheet of paper with great thought. She folds it together and sighs, more out of relief than worry. Up until now, she was not certain whether ascending the throne was the right decision, but hard seating of the throne was feeling ever more comfortable. In her mind, she recalls the events of recent.
House DeFaye - Just this very day, Lord Jocas has signed the treaty to submit, amicably, to Imperial Law. From this day on, the fates of the guilds would be closely entwined. And perhaps he would prove a valuable ally in the days to come.
Two new, very promising recruits had joined the Empire, freshening their ranks. The halls of the Empire once again were full of merry chatter.
Jilerel had finally made it to a full Imperial. He was proving a good Imperial, clever and loyal to the Imperial Cause.
Kaerli, her old friend, had accepted the position of Chancellor, relieving her of the pressure of solely determining the path of the Empire.
The future does not seem too clear to her, but she is feeling confident that the Empire will be up to the task. She blows out the candle, then heads for the comfort of her bed.

In the last Inner Council meeting, the Inner Council has unanimously decided to introduce Imperial time as the official timekeeping standard of the Empire, in contrast to the Yliakum year.
Henceforth, the time passing shall be recorded as such: The largest unit of time is the Imperial cycle, subdivided into six years. [1 Imperial cycle = 1 RL year]. Each Imperial year has 365 Yliakum days with 24 hours each. Due to the nature of time measurement recently improved by the Arcane Force, it occurs as a more natural way to keep track of time. Cycles after the passing of the timekeeping act will be known abbreviated as "AT", or after timekeeping, those before with "BT". The date 0 (hours).1 (st day).1 (st year).0 (th cycle) AT corresponds to the Yliakum date of [21.3.2015 0:00 UTC].
Imperial time shall henceforth be the only time used on Imperial documents and records.
P.S. The next guild dinner will be held at 9.47.1.0 AT.
[A little OOC note: Right now, it is hard to write IC history documents, since the time in PS is always stuck at 750AY. To remedy this, we will be using our own time that, in the timescales of days, corresponds to PS time, however, has a neat longest unit of time that corresponds to exactly a RL year, hence building a bridge between the two times. If the PS clock ever starts moving, we then simply need to set a refernce point of Imperial time to Yliakum time to fix our records.
To determine time more easily, I have written a converter RL time <-> Imperial time. It is an .exe file and thus should work only on windows. If someone wants to compile for mac/linux, let me know. The link (http://www.filedropper.com/imperialtimeconverter_1). Also, the converter should automatically output your own timezone, so no more confusion about that ;D.]

First and foremost, this is beautiful. The fact that the scales are black just makes sense. And you cannot see them clearly at first. Lovely, murky, appropriate.
I think she forgot the letter "A" in the middle word though. But that's a quibble and easily fixed I guess.

And you think that took effort? It took as long as it took to type it. And it made me laugh. And I would have liked to make him laugh too. Could have been Donari or any other fool with an emblem that had a possible misinterpretation which lent itself to a truth told in a funny way (tons of vain creatures in the Dark Empire :) ).

To be fair, your four years previous to your last "rough" four, years in which you were putatively "in charge" of Empire, were also replete with your trademark incompetence. At least you are consistent.
A mark of how useless you are is that I am forced to admit that Donari - yes Donari - has managed to clean your mess and forge ahead. Whelp.

The current goal, since it often changed throughout the rulers, context etc... Is to unite everyone and help achieving peace in the Dome.

The session's first goal was to prove the legitimacy of the regency and to discuss internal matters.
Lord DeFaye was allowed to attend with a silent witness.

It was not relevant anymore and i thought rather than dissapointing people i should make it clear it's not relevant. Should have propably made another post or strikethroughed it. Honestly didn't think too much about it, been a bit too busy over here.

Self consciousness or humility? ;D Anyway, lacking the context, I may have misjudged the intentions, I still however find judging someone by the quality of their English usage in the current setting inappropriate.

Jilerel can be seen in the Empire's warehouses. Holding a notepad and a quill, he directs a couple of recruits around.
"Where should this crate be placed?" a recruit asks.
Jilerel checks his notes. "There's red tape on it. It's perishables. There should be a couple hundred more of that sort."
Lots of movements can be seen in and out of the Imperial Hydlaaian Headquarters.
Jilerel briefly goes outside to meet with a visitor. The visitor bears the Imperial crest on his chest.
JIlerel acknowledges them. "Any news on the warrior alliance?"
"I'm afraid you do not have the support of their hierarchy, chancellor. Please accept my apologies." the visitor then bows.
"Right. You are dismissed. Thanks for your services."
The chancellor comes to his office and starts writing a letter.
Greetings, [EXPUNGED], leader of [EXPUNGED].
I would like to meet with you, in the Hydlaaian Headquarters of the Empire.
This concerns the matter our diplomat has discussed with your organization in the past few days.
Respectfully, Jilerel, Imperial Chancellor.
The letter is then sealed with Jilerel's mark and sent to his personal groffel.
Later, the same day, a helmet-wearing figure arrives, riding a rivnak. The door opens.
"I didn't expect you to come that soon. I appreciate your diligence."
"It's an honor and my pleasure, you are most welcome to invite me." the figure answers.
The two step inside the headquarters and enter the chancellor's office.
After three hours of negociation, the door opens again and the figure departs.
Jilerel smiles in his office. "Traitors. I see. We shall do without them."
