An excerpt from the Warden's Journal

First entry

The Dark Empire. As of today, the name once again shall be said with pride by those that belong to it, amazement by those that know it, and fear by those that are against it.

When I was first tasked with managing the Empire, I could hardly believe I would ever be up to the task. Now, I feel more confident than ever. The Inner Council has advised me wisely. It was not easy to restore order after the reign of the Houses of Greenmoon and Goldsmith had left our Empire filled with corruption and inefficiency. It was a hard, laborous task to remove the festerous limbs from our body, but nonetheless, we finally stand healthy again.

Our ranks are full of talent once more, not void husks that leech off our wealth and reputation. Captain Suno Regin of the Imperial Guard, Overlord of the Steel Force. Recently returned from a long assigment and quite experienced and skilled. Primatus of House Galeranson, Overlord of the Arcane Force, a most promising young mage. Jilate Rerek, Overlord of the Shadow Force, rarely seen, but quite often not by her absence. And myself as Warden and temporary Overlord of the Imperial Trades. We are truly set for whatever we might face,

Second entry

In recognition of our superiority, the Rangers of Yliakum have decided to bow to our might and assimilate into our ranks. Their members shall serve the Empire and their assets shall become ours.

I would surely say this is a good omen to finally announce my upcoming coronation as Empress.

Wow, way to be dismissive.  Believe me, it was no mean feat to create so much corruption.  I demand recognition for my incredible efforts in corrupting everything I touched!

I've a sneaky feeling that me coming back would result in only one story line:

Jilata reluctantly ( I hope ) killing an old Nurahk after being ordered to do so.

Coming back may spur on a lot of things... certainly not just one storyline. Let it ride out, really... it'd be a blast to have some old faces return. We're embarking on some really huge stuff.

Adopted doesn't count Besides, the Empire is in a very forgiving mood unless you're a Goldsmith. If Nurahk was adopted by House Goldsmith. Well. He really deserves a dagger to his back.

Psh, adopted is the only thing that counts.  That's a choice, you can't choose what you're kid is like if you have it naturally.  And he was the last Greenmoon Emperor, he wouldn't want to be Emperor but wouldn't his validity make him a threat?

A threat? The Empire is all about backstabbing and goat blood. Also it'd be fun how things turn out if an actual heir to the throne returns. There's so many possibilities....

Besides. You're on the list of people I miss. So you have to return.

It's tempting but I kind of feel my last couple attempts at returning did more bad than good.  Just don't have the ability to dedicate that much time to it unfortunately.  Maybe I'll visit some time though and... who knows?
