I'd think WoW would have something like:

Accounts: 10,000,000
Active Accounts: 6,000,000
Total online: 3,000,000

For a free game like ours, people can easily make an account to see what PS is like, then stop playing. It's not so easy to do that for a commercial game so the gap between online players and total accounts will be much much less.

Let's see... PS has been going on for a long time, and in that time, many people have come and gone. Mainly due to: Not enough time, people pulling them away IRL, people pushing them away IG (not as often, but it happens), boredom, annoyance, or, like Xordan said, there were people that just came in, checked it out, and never came back... Probably a lot of those. Plus the server sometimes reaches up to about 200 players.

But how many people are really gonna sit there and play two accounts simultaneously? I don't deny that there are certain moronic weirdos who would, but surely they're an insignificant minority?

Yes surly a majority that do it for events or rp purpose it's something people commonly do.
Maybe like 30 accounts created for that, maximum.

It might be a big gap but i'm sure that more people will start playing online in the future instead of orphaning accounts
