Having read all the posts on this thread:

The idea of donations is a good one, but should not be mandatory. Those like myself who could afford a small donation will do so gladly. It should not be like other games out there asking for, "Donations", on a monthly basis etc. Lets make this clear.
Also remember Fragnetics offer the server AND the pipe, (connection), that we all connect to for FREE. This mighty generous of them & I for one thank them for it. Ok its a tad unstable & down sometimes. But its free.

I, for one, love all the posts in the thread.  If we cannot be crabby here, along with the perpetually cheery and admonishing posts (who are those people???), where can we do it???  I mean, my friends have no sympathy for me in my Yliakum banishment.  So, keep it coming, I say.  It would be really nice to have an update from the fraggy people though.  Or someone who has a clue.  Just so I know if I should make actual plans for the weekend, with actual real life people.

Anyway.  I'll take some cookies now and be quiet.

Yes, the devs are in contact with Fragnetics.

No, there is nothing the devs can do at this time other than wait along side you all for our server to be available.

We are currently waiting on Fragnetics to finish diagnosing hardware issues. Please no more posts bashing the devs or our hosting service.  We will pass along any information as we learn new things, and all we currently know is that it is a hardware issue.

I come to read the forums to stay in touch with the community, and I have been very displeased with some of the things I have read. Please remember we are all in the same situation. A very nice thanks though, to all of you who have been patient and supportive. I miss the server as well, and I eagerly await its return.

We are pleased to say that Laanx is now up (for the time being). There may be some instability yet. Thank you for your patience and devotion to PlaneShift. What was/is the exact problem with the server?

From what I've heard in the community it was a physical problem with the server.

There was a problem with overheating. One of the server's CPUs burned up. The server has been up for one hour now.

Apparently whatever is used to verify new accounts still isn't working.

Anyone know when that will be working, or if an admin can manually verify accounts in the meantime?

site is working here, it just might take a little while for things like dns to update if the ip address changed in anyway.

actually, a bug I found with the account verification system, it refuses to send verifications to certain email systems. I dont know if this is true for everyone, but it wouldn't send the email to my comcast account, but it worked with my gmail account within minutes. My friend has msn mail, it works for him as well. so try with a different account, if you havent already
