What happens if you grind up a character to max and then allow other characters to beat it in regularly exchange for tria?

Well... doesn't that work IRL for bragging rights?

AFK training with the dummies` HP atm? Are you frigging serious? So that the player won`t have any fun whatsoever and would just stare at the dummy for like 1 minute and then go to another? I don`t even know how baked one should be to behave like that in game (not to mention, to like that GM approach). Yeah right, that`s the spirit that will definitely attract new players.
If you want justice, pull out the logs and reduce skills of those who clearly have botted for many hours constantly (like going to sleep OOCly while hitting the dummy). Calculate the amount of levels gained by botting only and reduce just it.
P.S. As a person who did some HEMA-esque fencing, I say the dummies don`t die that fast, especially if you train with a dull sword. Trust me.
