Title: The Wandering Tavern
Post by: Kada-El on August 30, 2004, 03:29:38 am
After recent host problems and down time the tavern has at last moved to it?s shiny new location. So once again the ale barrels are full, the wine is flowing and the doors are open!

The new direct URL is http://tavern.blueglyph.net/, please update your links and bookmarks (http://www.thebbb.tk/ will also still work - thanks to Nilaya for helping us solve a problem we had with that). Sorry for all the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

A huge thank you to Cad for working so hard to secure this for us and for a great job transferring the forum intact to it\'s new home. Thanks also to all those kind offers of hosting from members of the PS community.

The vote to decide the next guilds to be added to the list is on once again. Unfortunately some information was lost towards the end, so if you voted or registered just before the site went down you may have to re-submit that information.

An option to include alliance information has now been included, let me know if I?m missing any information or have anything there in error.
There is also now a rollover feature for each of the guilds, so if any guild leader wants to see a summary of their guild appear, then please either email or PM me a short summary and I will include it on the site.

*crawls back into his niche*

Good to have the tavern back! :D

A link to your tavern at your tavern?  Excellant! I\'m going to go click it.

Unfortunately not sorry :( It\'s not an error, it\'s just the point at which the database has been restored. Since the site has been back up there have been more votes for the Champions, that\'s all.
The people that placed the votes you think you have lost will have to re-submit their vote.

As a gesture of goodwill you may have my vote.

But both the Knights and the Champions seem to be well organised and have members loyal to their cause so I\'m sure both will end up on the list very soon :)

If you did this before the move, it makes sense - jus repair the links with the new host. Otherwise exactly what error was it?

Errr... What else could it mean? It means that someone with the name you wanted to use, is already using it.

There is no agreement to sign up, the first page is for your user name, email and password, the second page will send you an email after confirmation, to activate the account (and that to limit somewhat the fake accounts we got previously during the poll  ;) ).

Edo* is not taken, what name have you chosen?

When you receive the activation email, the safest is to copy/paste the link to a new brower page, because the site contains a code to get out of any top frame (which you can have with some webmails like Hotmail for instance). We had to do this because of the nasty system .tk is using. I suspect it could interfere with the activation mechanism but I haven\'t had the time to check.

Edooo, try the other register links as one of them always says your name is taken without you even doing anything, cant remember which link it is though

I wonder what link you\'re talking about, if you find it back, please tell me and I\'ll remove it  ;)

The registration link is the following one: Register (http://tavern.blueglyph.net/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=new_user)

Haha, now I see. This PHP-Nuke package sure is full of surprises. Sorry, I fixed that nasty link they forgot to change.

Thanks for reporting that!

Altharion, and others who have this problem. Some mail boxes as Hotmail or Yahoo rudely put emails coming from this host in the bulk/spam folder (I yet have to discover why, probably because the domain of the email server doesn\'t match the one of the email address).

If you don\'t activate your account within 24 hours (lost email, ...), it will be removed from the temporary list, and you can try again.

You\'re not the only one with that problem.  It stinks having to go activate a lot of users by hand... damn spam catchers, this isn\'t even spam!!

Let me know when you find the solution to that, I\'d be very grateful :).

What\'s wrong, people? The posting at the tavern is too low! C\'mon, join the drunken-ness! (And many interesting conversations as well)

Nothing is wrong, Empanado, we just prefer quality over quantity in this quiet place, we don\'t see the point in spamming for the sake of it  ;)
