Title: Mp5 or Uzi?
Post by: Kuiper7986 on September 09, 2004, 04:21:21 am
(http://www.hkpro.com/image/mp5-1.jpg) (http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/small_arms/uzi/uzismg_b.jpg)

Hk Mp5-
Caliber: 9x19mm NATO
Weight: 2.54 kg
Length: 680mm
Barrel length: 225mm
Rate of fire: 800 rpm
Magazines: 30 rounds
Effective Range: 100m

IMI Uzi-
Caliber: 9x19mm Luger/Para
Weight: 3.7 kg
Length (stock closed / open): 470mm / 650mm
Barrel length:  400mm
Rate of fire: 600 rpm
Magazine capacity, rounds 25 , 32  20, 25, 32 20
Effective Range: 200m

Hmm it depends. Do I want something \"technologically\" better at 100m or something a bit more simplistic but at 200m. The thing is at first glance the MP5 really beats the Uzi but the range I believe really lowers it a lot.

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot, some people say that the Mp5 is the standard in which all others are judged. Than there are others that say the Uzi is the standard in which all others are judged...

MP5, definitely... Why? Because it\'s in Counter-Strike. =D

P.S. Just curious, but are you actually buying one of those? Or just asking which is better?

id get the Mp5 if my country allowed guns :D

The mp5 is lighter than the uzi something you will remember when your carrying the weapon :D range ? 100 meters is preety far chances are that you would rarely face anyone ( who wants to kill you) further than 100 meters.

but what do you need a Smg for ? hunting ?

I\'m just wondering that\'s all. I mean you have two firearms that are both saying that they\'re in which the standards are being made. But if your a buyer like the military or law enforcement, which one do you buy? Which one do you think is cost efficient and stuff?

Also I like firearms and learning about the evolution of firearms and I\'ve just always been curious on this kind of stuff.

And you go ask a gamig community?!

From these 2 models here, the mp5 is a better choice from the little specs you showed. More compact and lighter, says a JA veteran :)
The ranges are just funny.

MP5 definantly, its lighter, less kick back, and attach a silencer and a scope and nothing can stop you :)
MP5 is my all round favourite gun

have you played CS?

If you have youd notice the terrorist SMG, mac 10 is very much like the Uzi its uncany

Some would say its just enough different so they wont get sued....

Go for the MP5 every time tho because unless your shootin somet at point blank its scatters and you spray - making it good for driveby\'s :)

Naah. I prefer something more classic ^^

Suomi SMG

Caliber: 9x19mm Luger/Para
Weight: 4.6 kg
Lenght: 870 mm
Barrel lenght: 314 mm
Rate of fire: 900 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 20, 50 or 70 rounds
Effective range: 200 meters

This is a gun we used in ww2
Its manufacturing ceased in 1944 and it was good enough to be used to 1990s but then was replaced by assault rifles -_-

It\'s kinda wrong that you go and ask wich is better, because there are many types of Uzis and you mentioned only one of them.

IIRC, there are 5 diffrent types of Uzis, each suiting for a diffrent purpose.

MP5 is a weapon designed for tactical operations in closed places. The Uzi you showed, however, is for semi-closed places (i.e. not open fields and such, where M16s are used, but suits for urban areas). With it\'s small length and superior range of fire, this specific Uzi is better than an MP5. However, in corridors and small rooms where range is not a problem, MP5 is better than this Uzi as there\'s a higher chance of hitting the target with it\'s higher rpm and accuaracy before it hides behind the wall.

And better in what way? In the desert? Both will be as useless as using your fists. In inter-galactic warfare perhaps?
Or what is cooler to hand on your wall? In this case I\'ll say Uzi, but that might just be a sudden patriotic burst.

Even if you\'re asking \'just generally\', you have to tell us in what category, or we might think you want us to tell you wich is better as a gardening tool (MP5), or wich is better for using to crack a rock (and then you have to say what kind of rock (this Uzi is better at breaking a flint, but MP5 is better at breaking a limestone). You should also show two items that are as similar as possible, and considering that there are various types of Uzis, you should choose the one that is the most similar to MP5.

The MP5 is a excellent choise.
The absolut greatest thing with it is it\'s recovery, you can actually aim it a lotsa thing during a burst, while other SMG\'s would lose controll.

Also it is relativly quite, but sound depressor should not be used on this model becouse it decreases the damage just a bit too much.

The Uzi is not my style, but yeah obviously blazing double uzi\'s through a crowd of ppl could make some harm  8)
