Sorry if I\'m changing the begining but I want to make it clear that Dream of the Sarukai has started! :D (despite my previous worries about not having enough time, I\'m sure that I can find the time if I really want to :))
Dream of the Sarukai
Through the endless ages of time there was a powerful voice that could have said anything, but chose to say nothing, for he would rather dream. (Not quite sure why I wrote that, but I think it sort of sounds profound in a sort of crazy way ;))
about us:
We are a good chaotic guild: while doing basically whatever we want to do, we also try to make hydlaa a better place.
We travel the world in search of knowledge, adventure, wealth and fun.
We will only fight should we judge that our guild or the good of the world threatened.
All guild members are equal and for big guild decisions we vote.
For the moment we will only have a few rules:
1) follow the planeshift rules (no swearing, cheating,...)
2) be polite and try to help other guild members
3) try to be active
4) to have money for parties and equipment: everyone has to make donations but they can choose how much they want to give
- the amounts should be kept on a website, and it should be a sort of status thing to give lots of money to the guild :)
- all guild members vote on what the money should be used for
Making such a guild work will need some organizing (jobs):
The guild should vote for big decisions (guild priorities, laws, peace, war...)
Most guild work should be done be voluntaries.
But there should be at least one organizer (needs a better name maybe: Lord Chronicler, Master of Thoughts) that works out details, asks people if they wouldn\'t mind doing something for the guild, encourages members and basically keeps the guild from freezing.
And maybe another guild member(s) that decides on guild activities and meetings. (Adept of Entertainment)
Possibly other guild members that work as politicians: keep in touch with other guilds. (Guild Representative)
Maybe also strategists: that say what they think the guild should do (of course all members can as well) but strategists should try to have a fairly good idea of what is going on in planeshift. (Master of minds)
Possibly artists and writers: that if they wanted to could donate art and stories to the guild. (Enlightened Creator)
ranks: as ranks don\'t exist in our guild members can call themselves anything that isn\'t rude or too strange. If possible it should sound medieval. If other members don\'t like a name: they can suggest alternatives.

Hey, atleast you have a back story, for a guild that might not even exist yet, that\'s good progress!

Wow a chaotic guild that actually is chaotic! Amazing! But the game has 9 ranks, and one has to be the rank 9 who can kick people out and add new members. And everyone will expect to se different names, so I\'d suggest something that has little meaning, like directions of the compass.

??? Where does this post come from? He said he wanted to get the thoughts of the community on some of his ideas before he makes, if he makes...how do you see this as pointless? I think its a very good idea to have some comments from people on a new guild, to lead him on the right path.

thanks FESFES and Zabeal for saying it was original and for the suggestion. The meaningless ranks is a good idea but I think I might want something abit more creative than simple directions. Maybe something with natural elements in it: (water fire earth air poison nexus nether...) I\'ll have to think about that.
I\'ve decided that I\'ll start the guild if I can find people willing to join.

Cool! The basic idea is like Mirth, but its chaotic. I love it! :)
As Zabeal said, it really is refreshing to have a chaotic guild that is truly, er, chaotic. :D

Why I decided to make this guild:
A while ago I decided that I wanted to join a guild so I took a look at most of the guild sites, but I couldn\'t find one that seemed right. So then I started thinking about making a guild. I doubt that I took anything from Mirth as I don\'t know what their guild was like in the past. But if I took anything from Mirth or any other guilds it wasn\'t intentional. :)
The guild is going to start tomorrow! :D

Can anyone see a blue picture on the home page? This is the first web-page that I make and I\'m not sure if I uploaded it right.

First of all if I wanted to be in an evil guild I wouldn\'t be starting a good one, lol. Anyway I think the sort of guild I\'m planning wouldn\'t work as well as an evil guild. Also, I believe in working to make the world a better place for good people :)

This definitely looks like something I would like to join :) I will be getting back to you for sure when CB is finally released ;D Since I am utterly unable to run MB on my machine (for some obscure reason, a bug that\'s been reported a multitude of times but never seems to have been solved), I can\'t really join you now, but be certain that I will be back to join :D
The whole concept of chaotic good seems rather like me... which is kinda fun ;)

a cabal guild with the same basics but different intentions. cabal=world destruction (red button type), yours=betterment of all living kind.

lol, thanks for the advice Xordan, but I believe that violence should be avoided when possible. Also, I want other guild members to have a say on who get\'s put on our enemy list. So it might be a while before we make one.

thanks and it\'s nice of you to mention such a deal, but I hope not to need it as I think violence should only be used as a last resort.
And I don\'t really like the if they die you get your money back bit as it seems morally wrong to me. Life is your most precious gift and shouldn\'t be thought of as only money.
I guess that\'s where our guild belives are different. But I understand that mercs guilds are neccessary and evil could totally destroy good if good refuses to have help in battle. Also the Sect seems fairly reasonable for being made up of mercs. :) I don\'t want to make you angry, and at some point I might even have to hire your mercs. I\'m just pointing out that our guilds are very different morally, so probably won\'t ever be very close.

ok, snow-RAveN I\'m glad to hear that. But I think we have different ideas about what a chaotic good guild is. How can a guild be good and kill everyone that disagrees with them? (lol, that sounds like something an evil guild would do.)

As for being a dancer that sounds cool and it\'s exactly the sort of job that fits with being in a good chaotic guild. :)
People with any job can join our guild, but there are a few jobs that seem particularly adepted towards our guild. For example I don\'t think you\'ll find many dancers in lawful-evil guilds :P

As you can see elsewhere (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=10234&boardid=13&styleid=3&sid=1de6f78e16e94b3ae2dea91d081411ac), I\'ve started thinking about a re-design of the website, but have run into some potential problems with licensing :) Nothing serious in any way, just the idea I\'ve got in my head needs that problem resolved ;) If all goes to plan, I will be scribbling on some paper in class tomorrow, we shall see what I end up with :)

I realize that this thread has sort of turned into a private conversation.
To try and get more people talking I wrote a short story.
I was going to post it here but as it turned out much longer than I had expected I put it on http://www.freewebs.com/dreamsarukai under the link story.
If anyone reads it I\'d like to know what they think about it. :D
If anyone finds it way too weird remind me not to write things right after having a philosophy lesson at school, lol.

The layout for the new website, looks cool, interesting and like it has a very high potenial for chaos.
Unfortunatly I can\'t figure out how to put an image in my signature :(
Can anyone tell me how to use an image that\'s on the web as a signature?
When I tried to copy and paste it on, it says that the image contained errors.

To add a picture to your signature you first have to upload the picture somewhere. http://www.photobucket.com can help out here.
The next thing you have to do is put the web adress (including the \".jpg\" or an other graphical extention) between the [img] and [ /img] tags in your signature.
Good luck with your guild, it sounds quite good so far!
Oh and, there might be people around here who don\'t like to see you tripple posting. (mods or people who just want to nag)

FESFES, no offense meant, but I was just thinking that it might help your guild if you considered changing your name. People put a lot of importance in names, maybe more than they should, but my point is that, if you want to be great you should try and have a great name ;). If you really like and only want to the letters \"F\", \"E\" and \"S\" in your name maybe you could go for something like Sef. Otherwise you could choose something like Galar, Skif, Deran, Rolan, Taral, Gilnar... There are nearly infinite possibilities :D.

Lavana: The one you got in your sig now is my on my machine, and unless that\'s on (which is most of the time) people won\'t be able to see it ;) Point it at http://www.leinir.dk/dots/banners/dots-banner-sig.jpg in stead. Try that a few times during today, as it should be up a bit later :) Just need to chat with Lavana about the end product :)

We will only hire mercs if we feel that we are forced to do so, to try and save the good of the whole world and only then as a last solution. But should we truly need the kind of service your guild offers, we will consider your guild as an option.

Why? Well, let\'s say it wasn\'t very pleasent to be allied with a guild that is run by seperot, so sorry yar (the web site is under construction, and it WILL BE finished, also I will do other things I\'ve promised for the guild, that will keep supporting). Icefalcon: I\'m glad you like the background :) Something I noticed about all the desktop pictures (http://www.planeshift.it/download_goodies.html) to be found on the Planeshift homepage is that they\'re very dark. So I thought, would you like for me to make this picture as a desktop size background picture? I imagine 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 would do? :)

I was afraid that the leprechaun story might have been a bit too harsh towards some types of guilds so I took it down. However, if ppl liked it I could try putting it back up.
The other things that were on our site and that you can\'t see now, are all on Leinir\'s computer http://leinir.homeip.net/~leinir/dots/. They are being worked on, and will be upload once they are finished (or at least a little more finished ;))
And Seperot why don\'t you just go fly a kite (to not say something ruder) and leave Annah alone. :)

Well, we\'re still working on the content for the site, but it\'s up and running :) http://www.leinir.dk/dots/ is where you find the end product, and the one linked from an earlier post on my machine (http://leinir.homeip.net/~leinir/dots/) is our playground, where we play around with content :) Nothing\'s been uploaded this week gone, because of me not being here to do so ;) But it\'s coming along nicely :)

Well, with regards to presents, I think that your attitude towards something that can\'t be counted in money value or held in your hands tells rather more about you than Annah, I should say :)

Meeting the Entity
It was a cold misty night, a girl, named Lavanah lay asleep in her hut. The silence of the night was suddenly disturbed by the sound of arrows and fire crackling. She ran out of her hut barely getting away from the invasion that had been brought down on her village. The girl ran and ran till her feet could not walk farther and her eyes could no longer guide her. Finally she found safety and some comfort in a small cave far from her village.
There she dreamed the most magnificent dream that a person could ever hope to have. In her dream she met a strange entity but she didn\'t know what to say to it and her face had always been towards the white floor of a white room. Lavanah realized that she liked this dream even though she felt scared. Then she heard a voice that no one had ever heard before, and this is what it said: \"Young one, that was not planed by me, please forgive me for what has happened to your family and friends. I want you to start a group of friends called Dream of the Sarukai, you will help those who need helping, those who are in trouble, you will have to fight, I am sorry to say, but evil is growing and I need you\".
Lavanah woke up screaming, shivering and cold with sweat dripping down her hair on to her face. The next day she traveled to a town that she had heard about, this town was across the forest that surrounded what was left of her village. When she got there she met a very nice guy named Leinir, and they started talking. By the end of the night Lavanah had explained everything to him and he wanted to join this band of friends, called Dream of Sarukai. While she was explaining this, an aspirant thief, known as Isolis, who happened to be listening, decided that he wanted in as well. So he put away the thief life he had wanted, and walked up to Lavanah and asked her if he could join. She was more than happy to let him. The next day when they were talking, they met Annah who after hearing everything decided to join. And that was the beginning of Dream of the Sarukai.

Of course we\'ll hold out against the evil guilds, they have no chance against us, as the fluffy pink rabbits with purple spots are on our side j/k. (People tend not to think that such rabbits are dangerous but that is probably just because they hide their power by looking like well... fluffy pink rabbits with purple spots XD.)
However, should all the good guilds really be threatend, these guilds hopefully will be able to put any dispute they have among themselves aside and try to get rid of such a threat together ;)

Lets just hope that the fact of some being True others Chaotic and others Lawful makes alliances impossible (or harder) between good guilds :P.
Like being as impossible as an alliance between the Cabal and a prestigious Lawful Evil guild :P.

Aww, you see me normally :) I\'ve just not been online so much over the last twelve days on account of visiting my bf in the UK :) Now, though, I am going back to Denmark, so things should be back to a relatively normal state by tomorrow ;)
Also, on a related note, I now have iBookey goodness, so now I will be neglecting my school duties a bit more and be online while at school as well *giggles* Have to love schools that provide network access :) (I will of course be following the tutoring and such, I just won\'t be falling asleep like I did before, on account of already knowing most of what they teach ;) And no, I\'m afraid that\'s the truth; only taking the course to get a piece of paper saying that I can do what I alreay can ;) )

Well what sangwa says is true, but I still think (hope) that good guilds might have a little less trouble allying than evil ones, just because of their good nature if nothing else ;)
Depthblade, maybe someday we will have the honor of fighting along with the Reborn. Even though we plan on being a relativly peaceful guild, fighting might become necesary on some ocasions. However our guild will make all such important decisions by vote. Btw, we actually think that we should do what we want to do ;)
Isolis: I\'ve been a bit busy with school and I\'ve had some trouble with planeshift, but hopefully those problems will dispear.

Yup, it would definitely be easier for us to team up with a good guild than an evil one *giggles* Not so much, I would think, because we wouldn\'t want to, because by default everybody is a friend to us, but probably more because we\'d be inclined to help the poor buggers understand the problems that their view on life would bring and thus possibly annoy them :) But yes, it would definitely be easier to team up with a good guild :)
Fighting is of course always the final option, but should we need it yeah, I would much rather fight alongside those that agree with our views than those that are diametrically opposed to them :)

Two leaders in one day. Its just crazy. Why are the prominent leaving their guilds? Just have to figure out whos next.

Sorry to see you go Lavana and DotS crumble. I hope Lenir decides to take up the challenge of rebuilding what did have a lot of promise.

If Leinir wants to rebuild Dots, I\'ll certainly give him a hand by being the first new member ;). It\'s not so much that I wanted to leave DotS, it\'s more that I just didn\'t want to be in charge of it anymore. I must have just gotten too lazy, or something. ;)

Lavana: I am really sad to see you step down, but I will definitely do my best to keep up what good work you started. I am honoured that you offer me the cloak of leadership, though it shall not be Leinir taking it, but in stead Nunguraii, who is the character I am currently playing in game, while we wait for the Klyros to be implemented. We need to find you a house to lead or something ;)

Leinir, I really am glad that you are taking over the guild and I\'m sure that you\'ll do a great job with it :). I\'m sorry to say this, especially after saying that I was returning but I\'m having a difficult time in rl and my parents really don\'t want me to role play anymore, so I have to go. Good luck with the guild Nunguraii.
And Annah maybe I was too hard on you, people do have the right to dream of being the way they\'d like to be :).
