Characters will be almost infinitely modifiable in the final game.  I wrote the modification engine personally and it is done, awaiting only artwork.

So, would it be possible to make custom skins for the character models and add even complete new models to expand the variety of races? I mean if I did a new skin on a Dwarf for instance, would I be able to add it to the game like is possible in games like Quake and Unreal or is it only possible to modify characters by using pre-designed elements?

If it will be possible to add skins and models in the final release of the game, will other people be able to see them when you play with them or are they just seeing the default model?

Like to pull up old threads? :P

I doubt you can add models, too much loading to do then

Personally, I would love to allow privately made mods to textures and new models to be added to the game and auto-propagated to everyone else, but I don\'t know if it is practical.

a) Obscene or copyrighted content shared inappropriately
b) It\'s harder than it looks to make anything decent.

We\'ll see what happens.

Yeah, I guess you\'re right about the practical side. Along with good skins and models there will be a lot of trash too. Just wondered how modifiable you meant. :)

You can add custom skins to the game, that\'s what I did for some of the Atomic Blue screenshots on my site, but of course, anyone else looking at my character would only see the default character.

If you fancy skinning, why not have a go and send the results to the devs, I\'m sure they could always use any extra quality material :)
