A long, long time ago, I can still remember how the forums used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance, I would spam and flame and dance and maybe they would hate me for a while.
But September made me shiver, with each flame war I\'d deliver, mods were at the doorstep. I can\'t take one more step.
I don\'t remember if I cried when I hear Aendar was Mod-ified, but something touched me deep inside The Day, The Forums... Died.
Oh bye bye to this here Cabali Guy.

We knew that if we stayed the course, the mods would kick us, but of course. The decision then was made, the forums could not be saved.
So then one final post was made, you drove us down, you dug your grave. Cabali Country, Ylaikum is made The Day, The Forums... Died.

The forums started dying way before you became a mod. Most of the oldbies got tired of waiting or got annoyed by all the new guys.
Notice how the most members ever on the forum was almost a year ago?

The Golden Age of Molecular Blue is ended, it\'s been declining little by little for a while now. Fortunately, people continue to slow it\'s pace and even push it back up a bit, if only for a time. Had CB been released during that Golden Age, who knows what would\'ve happened?

Monketh I agree, at his state the community is in right now, when CB comes out only 6 people will be on. I can even see a diff in the community and I have only been here three months.

Its not so much to make fun of, its a constant need to spew out rants or flames. Sure, Savion can do it on his own boards... but that gets old when the same ol cabal members see it over and over.
There is no one to offend, no flamewars, just spam amongst spammers which loses its glamour after a while. It was fun to get people excited and wound up. The amount of controversy the Cabal caused was immesurable... and it was so much fun. Admit it... you liked it secretly.

offcourse we loved it, but you have to find new ways to stay popular, and to cause that controversy, flaming aint everything ( just try to piss someone off using something else. )

And let us not talk of the older, better days...when there were regulars who weren\'t annoying, and Hevrah\'s Bar and Grill...and people would hang out in the gazebo and the walk up to the temple instead of just the temple...People would roleplay in the tavern....yeah, lets not talk about those days...those great, great days...

FESFES, by age we mean how long we have been here, not how old someone actually is ;). The only thing about actual age that matters is maturity, but that doesn\'t come with age.
And anyways, X, Draklar is behind the scenes?? He has over 2,000 posts....
Me and Waylander are about the same age, he\'s a little older :P (not actual age ;)). But let me clarify something, Waylander=Cadoras=Armeen?

By \'behind the door\' i was refering to the fact that he doesn\'t say much latley. Not sure why. Maby he has seen it all before and is refraining from repeating himself. I don\'t know.
He is also one of Monk\'s enemies (or was last I checked.) so I always keep an eye out for him to put a knife in Lhoran, seeing as Monk and I are guild mates.

Who cares about your age? Last time I checked this was a community based forum for discussions, ideas and play but not some contest for uberness ^^
Forum dead? or dieing? No I don\'t see that...because look at the activity going on in this useless thread and others. I think we are doing fine just certain groups of people are disguising their boredom with a dieing forum.

We all are and always will be wide eyed children, watching in amazement at the wonder that is life. Its mysteries forever elusive. We will be no wiser when we take our last bow on this stage than we were when the cutains first went up on the drama of our existences. We will grow old and maybe cynical and we would like to pretend we understand it all but in our hearts we will always be aware of our tremendous ignorance.
But enough crap. In any game there are no Oldbies and no Newbies. However there are people who think that they are \"Oldbies\" and people who think that they are \'Newbies\". And then there are people who know enough to watch the other two and be amused ;) Choose your type as you will...
I have played the game longer than some of you but who is to say if I have played it better? Its not about if you registered in september 2002 or january 1822 or you beat up moses for bugging you about the commandments while you played PS ;). The only thing that matters is what you did while you played it. Be the game my friends and you will be a \"GAMER\" rather than the \"guy who plays PS\". The devs have lent us the tools but it is you who will have to create the game.
Regarding the forums and savions song:
I always said the boy had potential but who listens to old uncle Auran X(. Convinced now ???!!!
And the forums are changing ofcourse. But whether for better or worse who can tell? Who is to say that there wont come a day when the Defenders will once more be fighting the forces of evil under Draklar. The Rangers parrying words with one and all. Evanchild will be peddling gnomes with Mirth guys bugging him now and then. Illlyria encouraging new guilds on every acheivement they made however insignificant. Seperot being himself and not some pretended supervillian. The little moogle being a silly little kitty loved by all :). The AO contingent Xalthar and all busy being stuffy mages. Venge making his rare , much awaited and little understood comments;). Kada being teh sexy innkeeper and grono being the laconic ill tempered matron:P. Everyone wondering if the devs had secretly joined Shadowhand. Heck even old uncle auran might be back hitting on everything female and with annah and draklar going at his throat :P .
The people I know and love : Xordan, Moogla, Monketh, Seppy, Xalthar, Yann , Zephyrus, Druke, Axyrus, Aelya, Annah, Callenlasse, Draklar, Dorbian, Davis, Kada, Eva, Illy, Half pint ....(the list goes on but you get the idea), its barely a year since i saw them all here and who is to say that one fine day they might all just decide to go back to the way things were? Those were the days I loved and I hope that they return but in the meanwhile what keeps us from loving what we have ? :).
So lastly I apologise for making such a long post. inflicting my nostalgia on the unsuspecting forum goer :P. Excuse a poor ex-villian would you...

Do you know what makes Planeshift different than other games? The community! It\'s unique, and everyone should be proud only by the simple fact it is part of it. You just have to go to the \"Guild Forums\", and you\'ll soon be a part of this never ending story, a story so beautiful that can\'t be missed.
But with every new generation, there will always be the ones who will remember their nostalgic times, that will start thinking they\'re old, that will start thinking their generation was the best and that they also had the best times in here. Then they thought at what they did, what they could\'ve done, regrets comes and other things.
Do you think I don\'t want to see Washi leading the Golden Dragon Clan again, to see Binary, Necromancer Zeal and Whitti fighting evil with their Azure Order, or to talk with people like Nu\'sham, Kendaro, Meket or others ... ?
With these, a problem will always come. The fight between so called \"Oldbies\" and \"Newbies\". Everyone that sits an year around here thinks that now he\'s an elite, an oldbie, also being allowed to do anything he wants. I can give an example Seperot, who was a puppy when he 1st came here, now behaving like the owner of every soul he meets. I wish I could talk with the real one in the future.
But no one ever want to think that maybe we\'re all equals like Auran said. Though, we have to understand that among us there also exists, less, aham ... gifted people, that are a pain in the ass, killing us with tons of stupid questions where the answer can be found everywhere and things like these. And sadly, 1/3 of this community is composed by them. Though, this doesn\'t mean everything is dying around here, they always come and go.
What means for ya that the forums \"die\"? It means that people from your generation aren\'t here anymore? It means that people post what you dislike? We all have different tastes. From my point of view, the forums are just evolving, and I can guarantee this, being here from the beginning.
In the end I\'ll just give ya a tip. Yes, past is good. But don\'t live your life thinking at it, because you\'re in danger to lose the present and the future, you\'re in danger to become a waste, a nostalgic freak that will never recover. Try something new, make new friends, \"evolve\". Don\'t waste your life thinking at only one question - \"What IF?\"

Maybe sometime in the future, you\'ll see Planeshift as I see it. I mean, for me, the game is this community, and I really don\'t care if the game will ever be out because we\'ve created ourselves a new world in here.

Good stuff. This should have been said in the beginning. While the forums appear to be dieing for some (for their own personal reasons), they look as normal as ever to me and many others.
In other words, it will die if you let it. Doesn\'t mean other people will not take interest in the forum and move it in the direction they like it to go. And yes it is evolving - so you might find something you like if you are patient and passively (like I am) take part in a few discussions that spark interest. It\'s up to you.

Thanks Lynxy man. I didn\'t know I was much anticipated. I am grateful that you like my speeches but a sizeable segment of the populace is allergic to them and will try to kick my hiney if I tried to offload any on them :P.
And yes I do come around less, thats partly why I gave up active memebership in guilds. I have a terrible medical condition known as \"Employment\" ;). In this condition, perfectly good and lazy guys, like me, suddenly get up at 6 AM in the night and \" go to work\" 8o. Its sad I tell you ;). But I do come around here even if I don\'t post much. Like annah pointed out : Once you are in this community and learn to love it there\'s no going back. :)

No. Change is not good or bad. Change is inevitable. Good or bad is subjective to the individual\'s capability or desire to exploit the change.
BTW Savion is a very good rhymster and in addition the point he puts forward is also pretty valid when you look at it from the intended viewpoint. The closest example i can give you of what situation the song tries to capture is \"Old age\". After you see the ones that you knew and identified with dissappear one by one, taken by the hand of death, and you feel like a stranger in a world you once moulded with your own hands. It is then you feel that your world has died. Replaced by a strange construct which you are not a part of.
Also I don\'t believe savion commits entirely to that view. It is just one of many that he sees and the one he chose to represent in rhyme. So don\'t think he is telling you that the forums have died. It is a perspective that is shown not the absolute truth.

Change cn be bad. Like the sun exploding. Theres no doubt that change is inevitable but it is up to us to make it good or bad. Im sure that the PS community dieing will be a bad thing. All the members here must stay active and vist as much as they can. In the four months I have been here the most people I have seen on is like 15 and that was a while ago. I couldnt belive it when I saw that the forums had 117 people on at once! But, none of us can really say if the forums are dieing/changing untill CB comes. For all we know, everyone will come back and there will always be at least 100 people on. But of course the forums and game could stay the same and over time we could see everyone slowly faade away and leave. Its up to us to keep this place as great as it is and to make it even better :)

I\'ll admit that on more than one occassion in the past I had felt that you were anticipating and preempting my moves. I generally don\'t expect people to understand my ways of working and a very few in PS have any clue about it. On closer examination I came to the conclusion that it could either be your inherent chaos that makes it difficult to manipulate you or you might actually be able to make out patterns in what I did. I went for the worst case scenario in the second theory.
Now i see you doubtful in the analysis of my actions! You have known me better than most and still you wonder?! Do I need to rethink my hypothesis about you?
This is why I like you seppie. You have several facets. Ones that I have seen and others that moogla told me about. I am pleased to have you as my friend :).

Sun. Who needs the sun? The moon is a lot cooler(hehe, get it? :P ) anyways. Now, it would be bad if the sun exploded and destroyed the moon. Then, I would be pretty pissed.

I think that when CB comes out, all the \"old\'\' people you\'ve all grown to \'\'love\" will come back again. And besides, if they don\'t you don\'t have time to grief about it, just make due with what you have in the present, not what you had in the past or will have in the future. Give \'\'noobs\'\' a chance and maybe they will become the \'\' new old friends\'\' you are all talking about. Most people are just fed up with the time it takes to release a more updated version of PS. As for Moogie, she\'s probably busy testing CB, but I don\'t know. :D

Had you been around to know Auran the Corruptor you would have been more appreciative and a tad more apprehensive of Auran studying anything ;). But those days are past. Now I just love the knowledge and not its application .( or so i say some might tell you).

my little idea stemmed from a basis that you knew people love your speachs....thus by making them deprived of the speachs for a extended time you cause a demand for them...then you show up a few times and make your speachs once more the masses flock in joy loving you insted of lothing you... ect
on retrospect it was a fairly watered down idea...or perhaps that what you want me to think....mea im not bothered eaither way corrupt em all just let me watch and im happy :P

Well you know when you are out of work you gotta be polite to people. I have wiped the floor with so many and kicked so many butts so hard and so often that I kinda am full of it for a while:D. There has come the point where i have begun to feel that most people are apprehensive and some positively afraid of me just asmuch as i want them to be.
Yes I know I could wipe out these fragile constructs that players so laboriously create at my whim. Who are these forums populated with? I\'ll tell you who: Fools. Pathetic mortals destined to be pawns in the hands of greater beings. But is it worth my time i ask myself? Why would i spend my time tormenting weak minded, frail creatures? I have nothing to prove to myself and i don\'t care to prove anything to anyone else. Those who can percieve know and nothing in the world can make the blind see. But hark!!...... I appear to be having a relapse into my old ways, enjoyable as they were, they are not mine anymore.
So i will stop here. I think i\'ll be good a while. And i also think that the new guys should pray that that \"while\" be very very long indeed for their own sakes.
But yes Xalth I do think about the way things were and no, i don\'t wish that they were again thus. Not yet anyway.
Plus you never joined the Cabal after those wimps of AO (and yes i am looking at the Drukester) made you quit. Come back and bring Druke with you and i might consider coming back ;).
Also my princess never once said she misses me. What is the requirement for my existence then to speak of my return. I am her servant and if her wish is the end of my identity then so be it.

Can\'t speak for Druke, but no, that\'s not gonna happen :)
Maybe, if the order for some reason doesn\'t turn out to be what I want ingame, but I have closer friends in the AO than in the Cabal.. So there :)
