As I understand it I think I have just came up with a way we can Implement actual Clothing Meshes for Robes, Capes, Dresses, & Armor, stuff that you just can\'t have as just a texture. As I understand Cal3D you can have many different Cal3D Meshes, & you can take a mesh from one Char & stick it onto another (however the result is extremely distorted.) I have also noticed that the \".Cal3D\" file format. I think that it is possible with some programming to turn off a certain mesh contained in the file with it\'s name. So I propose that we model Cloths for each race using the same bones as the Characters & export them as separate Cal3D Meshes. That way if rigged right, You should be able to have the cloth perform the same as the animations & with a little programming able to show up on the Char when they put that item of clothing on & disappear when they take it off.
Do you think this would work?
I think I\'m going to go talk to Venge about it if he is there...

Wow ...that sounds great :D
...oooh, oooh ...a crazy idea: wouldn\'t it be good, if you\'d buy stuff second-hand (=from a player who\'s already worn it) that it would stay that size *imagines a stonebreaker running around in a kran\'s cape :]*? And then you could go to a tailor and have it fit your size for a small fee.
...that, or I\'m talking complete gibberish

Gender and race specific clothing... That\'s good thinking, although I think I\'ve seen it somewhere before. Nevertheless, yes. Good idea, and something I\'d love to see eventually. Then Krans wont be able to wear dwarf armors. However, if a man/woman tried to wear something designed for the other gender, it should be possible to some extent, but give a movement malus, as it\'s not really designed for that gender... Hmm... A male wearing an armor designed for a female. That\'s got to be a hillarious sight. :)

lol, Actually a man would only be able to ware a dress if the female it was originally designed for had the same exact Cal3D Skeleton. otherwise it would probably look very jumbled stretched & distorted...
I hope all the Chars were first rigged with Biped Skeletons but if not it probably would be more trouble to edit the races then to just make separate meshes for each race...
But you can sure count on me changing around some meshes to make my Char look funny when I\'m board lol.... :]

I think that there must be a very huge database of clothes on our computer when we install PS to make a way to watch the difference beetween characters. I think about PristonTale for example : there is a very lot different clothes and there is not a lot of similar characters. But be carefull of letting some old version of cb on the planeshift server because... when the games will be too large and will ask for big powerfull computer somebody wont buy another computer to play to cs.
@hook could you tell me whats tree castle is really and how far is the developpement. mp doesnt work correctly with my account (I don\'t know why...). so if you want to tell that to me send it to ***mr_shit@caramail.com.

I like the idea, but to have requirement that a person need to have the exact same Cal3D is a bit overdone. The limitation should be limit to just race and gender (even some armor wasn\'t gender specific). Also I think the meshes could be modified to contain custom texture design or have a set system to include embroidery (maybe for clans).
