So about this list, are the people gonna PM\'ed, list on the news site, or forums? What\'s the mode of contact for the notification of selectees...?

This is Moogie. People in the Alpha testing have lost their forum rank and, it seems, the ability to post anywhere. Talad is currently working to fix it (at least I hope so).
Alpha testers were sent emails yesterday telling them they\'ve been chosen. If you\'re unsure, check the mail of the account your forum name is registered to. If you have nothing from Talad there, then I\'m afraid you\'re not in phase 1. But there\'s always the other phases, right? :)

oh yah, no don\'t worry I was just wondering. Besides the next phase just a little more than doubles the selected amount for phase 1 anyways, so no worries. :)

In my opinion and I say again in my opinion:
The first phase of the \"most loyal\" were prolly GM\'s and Mods.
I\'m guessing that the next phase will have more popular forum people. I\'m sure in the next phase you\'ll see more of us \"commoners from the forums.\"

Im sure more of us will get in during later stages. Of course the all-powerful mods and GMs are going first.

Just GMs apparently (Grono and Mogura were both. don\'t think you are)...active or not.

Bora, Golmir, Agara and Xenia (maybe more) weren\'t selected. So it\'s not just -all- GMs they\'ve taken. At least not for the first test.

As much as everybody else anticipates, we all want to be in the next phaze right? well look at it this way... let them choose without distraction, the phazes will pass quicker... if you get chosen, nice one, if not don\'t worry, cb will be released to the public anyway! just have to be that bit more patient.. pretend they havent said anyhting yet ;)

actually the ones that were around for awhile have the most patience of all.
To rougly 10 months that\'s:
42 weeks or 300 days or 7200 hours or 432,000 minutes or 25,920,000 seconds.
Oh yeah I\'m bored now cuz there\'s nothing to do now, just a bit of info. haha

Me well im just happy to hear CB is starting even if its not for me YET. ive been waiting for over a year (reguardless of when my profile says i started) been playing so long i can draw this city on a wet napkin in my sleep with a invisable marker and still give you the grand tour.
so if i have waited this long whats another month ....or two...or three...i better stop or ill still be playing MB next year this time.....

I think I have come up with a good system. Each phase of closed testing lasts one day so I can play in three days :D

who cares if you get in a the closed alpha thing,:p i\'ve been waiting from...some time before last christmas, and i always checked the site almost every day, and i\'m just happy that its almost done you really won\'t have to wait more then a month now, its close so if your in or not, you\'ll be able to play it soon ;), just wait some more ;p we are used to it anyway ;)

Congratulations to those who got in, have fun! I\'m just pleased to know that some people will be playing it soon, it can\'t be THAT far off now. As a relatively new player, I know I won\'t be selected for any of these closed alphas, so everyone who is, have fun for me. I have been waiting for a while now, but if CB was out already, I\'d be on it so much and I\'d never get anything done, so I\'m glad in a way.

And I find it disappointing that it is only active forum members. Although I dont post here that much Ive been with the game for over a year now, since june \'03. I was thinking that they would do it this way, considering the game holds no personal information (such as email address).
Ah well. Grono, if I may ask, how big is/was the download?

Well, I\'m not sure I\'m allowed to say the number (NDA stuff... Talad is very strict about all that), however, it took me ~50 minutes with a steady 52.7KB/s. *hint*
That\'s not all of the stuff though. Only the art and engine files, so the download for the first public release is most likely a big bit bigger than that. :)

What she means is, the closed alpha is about 150mb. This doesn\'t include sounds or music, so you\'re looking at maybe a 200+mb download for the first public cb release :)

That\'s a pretty good size, will there be a torrent? I\'d heard a rumour, but is it fact? I hope so. TorrentStorm is my friend.

Because the cb download will get packed and some people like me have fussy internet connections so bit torrents dont work

If the download is going that large (assuming this the windows executable) will there be a fully packed linux binary available for download?

once cb is released to the public, as long as the downlaod works at whatever speed is better then nothing!!

Surely the devs will have some contingency worked out to account for the stream of downloads. I love bit torrent. It\'s great. Naruto is so much easier to download.
