Okay I think it\'s be better that instead of having brewery there would be drink-making. So instead of brewery only making alcohol, drink making would make different drinks like:
Low Experience: Juice, low exp alcohols
Mid Experience: Tea, mid exp alcohols
High Experience: Coffee, high exp alcohols
Advanced Experience: High Exp alcohols
-
Ya, & actually I think they should have different properties like if your an Alchemist then you can make a strange drink with strange effects, however I doubt that you will take a beer out into combat, however it makes fro interesting bar brawls... :D

i disagree that tea is easier to make then coffee

Rather than \'juice\' being just one drink, \'tea\' being just another, and \'coffee\' one more...
There are many, many varieties of juice, teas, and coffees. Each other which is of varying difficulty to make. There are nearly limitless possibilities for juices (such that I won\'t even try to mention \'em), a plethora squared possibility for teas, if you get into detail, and there are sooo many varieties of coffee that even the specialized coffee shops that have 250+ different types of beans aren\'t even coming near covering the whole shebang.
I\'m somewhat indifferent to the idea considering I\'m not the cook/cocktail waitress sort, so I\'ll let you food conossieurs (ah, crap, I\'m not even gonna *try* to spell that right) duke it out. ;)

And then you could combine ingredients in odd ways and have a monopoly on a particular drink.. perhaps bottling and selling it... then industrial spies steal the recipe... oh, the possibilities!

qa monopoly might be interesting as long as it dosent go too far. if i see a starbucks in-game i will go insane

Don\'t like monopolies, eh? Just you try and stop me. :D
-
lol Monopolies are great, they cause suffering and immense profit at the same time!!! :P

Microsoft is a prime example, eh?
Back on topic.
I would find it entertaining to be able to mix drinks with some general guidelines to create certain effects, but with some wild cards.
For instance, substance A creates great healing properties, substance B tends to restore stamina, and substance C helps to clear one\'s body of toxins.
But if you mix substance B and C, suddenly, BAM, you find yourself invisible.
\'Kay, that\'s a tad much, but it got the point across, I\'m sure.
-
Yes and substance A soothes your ange, substance B makes you temporarily extatic and substance C makes you feel like you are floating
Mix the three and you die!
-
Yes... sort of like the proposed magic system, you could \'create your own\'. That would be cool.
(Maybe we could combine pastes with drinks & potions; you can make a healing PASTE with a thickening ingredient or a poison PASTE, etc.)
This would be a very interesting addition to the engine... Like maybe a \'healing tipped\' sword. :D
And we should still be able to buy from the NPCs, just for overpriced and not very complex or potent things.
-
Well, this could sort of take over the Herbalist or Alchemist Job (Whatever it is that makes pots)
I\'m sure my Char wouldn\'t mind drinking pots if they tasted roughly like banana juice or somthing... a thing that tells you what it tastes like would be nice for roleplay, like someone makes a drink for you & your Char drinks it & it says \"You drink the concoction & it tastes like raw heat\" & you say \"It\'s good..\"

I would like to make people aware that (at least on the Planeshift main page) are alchemists, healers, herbalists and brewers jobs; some people don\'t realize that a brewer would not be able to produce a drink that would heal because that would be covered in another job.

P.S. If you don\'t agree see my new sig (it should be changed by the time you read this, if not who cares?).
