Hello all together
I am Mithrendil and am thinking of making a clan
I made the ranks and are making a home page and a forum.
Ranks:
Stage Ranks
Worker--->Worker Chief--->Building Designer & Merchant
Diplomat--->Wizard--->White Wizard
Warrior--->Warrior Chief--->Master Chief
So?
And what do i do next?
Tnx for your cooperation and help.
Please forgive me for my bad writing, i\'m not english.
-
Hmm this belongs on the guild forums, but i suggest you to start with a guildname.
You also need a website on which you state your goals and tell your history.
Good luck with it, but don\'t underestimate the efford needed to make a good working guild. Joining one is much easier. :)
-
I thank you for your will to help, and
my Site is in work ti shall be made by tomorrow and my forum also,
The guild name is the
White Hand
-
No offence, but that sounds *AWEFULLY* LOTR-ish.
And also, you should have a general goal planned out, and alignment.
-
The white hand also sounds like the red hand....irelandness. :P
Either way, don\'t do drugs and keep us up to date on how the guild goes.
-
I SERIOUSLY suggest looking into some other guilds before starting your own. Especially one so obviously based on LOTR. Trust me, I was a guild leader. My guild lasted 6 months, and I\'m guessing I had more going for me than you have for you.
-
this really does belong in the guild forum, however to the point.
You\'re guild really serves no purpose..ps is a bit different from other current mmorpg guilds, where as we actualyl serve purposes both economicly and politicly. You could come with an unused guild idea, like: A theives guild, an adventurer\'s guild, or something to tht nature. start from that idea, and draw outward. However i do advise you to be around, more than just at least 5 days (says you registered in october, and its october 5\'th) and that is a big sign of a \"guild that never made it\"
-
i\'v been present for the last 8 months but when i wanted to register my comp froze, and now i have a new one,OK.
But i was present on other forums.
Hmm... that name was i know bad i just wrote the first thing that came to my mind so i change my guild name to :
SwordCoast Guild or somthing like that what do you say, or builders guild, cose my guild is a guild that would make buildings for othe but still have a some warriors.
P.S
Move this thread to the Guild Forum
-
SwordCoast Guild? Think of something original, and something that has meaning. Builder\'s Guild is better, but it sounds boring and uninventive. You won\'t get very far if you\'re thinking of ideas on-the-fly; writing down \"the first thing that came to mind\" just doesn\'t cut it here, I\'m afraid.
You also need to be aware of the guild\'s history. Were you the founder of this group? How did it start? What are it\'s ideals, why do people want to join you?
And why would a builders guild need warriors? The world of PlaneShift is not utterly hostile, especially to groups of craftsmen, as they are a valuable source of labour for others. People would be hiring you for your skills, not attacking you... and if you were attacked for some reason, you would simply hire the services of the Mercenary Guild, or some other such organisation who are willing to protect the weak.
Anyways, just a few things to think about. It\'s more complicated even than this, but that\'s all I\'m going to type for now. Good luck. ;)
*moves thread to Guilds forum*
-
Give him a break :P. Though Sword Coast really brings some memories of Neverwinter Nights ^^.
I agree with Druke you should go for an Adventurers Guild, since there already is a Thieves Guild (Sword of Silence (http://www.swordofsilence.tk/) in case you\'re wondering).
So, good luck in raising up a guild. I hope you have what it takes.
-
why should he need to create a adventures guild? A builders guild isn\'t a bad idea. You just need to work it out very well.
I also would suggest to do some research before posting guildinformation here on the forum. People tend to reply very negative against not fully worked out ideas ;)
And don\'t worry too much about a catchy name. When your busy with your guilds background story, a nice name will probably popup in no time into your head.
-
Builders guild equals = Bloodclaw Inc.
They have many members and are well founded, you\'d have trouble gaining a foothold... But that makes it more fun.
-
Yes make a builders guild, take the monopoly away from Bloodclaw...
...not that I have anything against bloodclaw.
And have fun writing the guild history...and character bio, and guild goals and so on and so forth. Guildleading isn\'t that easy

My advice... Don\'t
Nothing personal, but these \"I want to make a guild today\" ideas never last. Join an existing guild, its much easier and you will most likely be better off.
-
Hey hey,
don\'t listen to icefalcon and armmen they just aren\'t...smart...no...hmm...bright yes that\'s the word bright, just make a guild have fun and kick some ass.
And that all about---we have lots of members...and...it would be a misstake to open war to my guild...and bla bla bla, you know this game isn\'t eaven made full it isn\'t eaven made mostly, every day did the mercerneries in the Mercenary guild say--just a week to Plain Shift... i think all guild makers should wait that the game is out, i\'v played many omrpgs and the true satisfaction is when you meet someone in the game, in the tavern or on the market and you ask him after a chat if he joins your guild, not like this posting and posting and more posting, this just isn\'t it you know.
As said you all should wait to eaven make guilds and open wars and saying that it was a big misstake to open war to your or someones guild.
Ok i admit it i was stupid to eaven try to make my own guild at this time, and eaven stupider to insult some guilds and wanted to fight them.
But now my rage is gone, and eaven if i shall make my own guild i\'l make it in the game when its out fully and then open war when i shall truly have a reson.
I\'m not really like i was that time and almost all the the time, just keep bloodluth away from me, and i shall be ok.
-
Goodluck with the guild, and I agree with the comments about originality. Your name, is one of Gandalf\'s aliases, and you were going to call the guild the white hand? I had to stop myself from groaning when I saw the words Sword Coast... Black Isle would not like you using that methinks.
You have your work cut out for you buddy.
As for a name, go with something original, yet meaningful. If all else fails, put something mundane in another language, it works for most guilds... heh.
Personally I\'d focus around the word creation, or construction and make sure it sounds fantasy oriented.
Armeen, you don\'t have a hard job, well not that hard. That may be because you have the best guild in the world, the most eccentric too... how many other guilds hold two titles... ooh perverted... there\'s THREE titles in one guild. You gotta\' love us right?
Once more goodluck... I\'ll see you in CB.
PS. If your guild fails, join The Community.
-
Points against waiting to create or join a guild:
1.You can meet new friends now, having a guild helps hold onto them.
2.A guild can be a nice place where everybody knows who you are and vice-versa, whereas you may be relatively unknown in the community-at-large.
3.A guild can be refined bureaucratically in the calm before the storm, and prepared for the storm.
Points against waiting to say \"You can mess with Texas, but don\'t mess with us!\":
1.You know who your enemies are, if they\'re going to threaten you, threaten them.
2.Studying of your enemy\'s practices and policies better prepares you for \"the storm\".
3.You can monitor them more effectively.
4.Creates the same tension and stress with those crazy monkeys as they did with you!
5.Why not? A little rivalry isn\'t too bad.
-
If you\'re still looking for ideas, I\'ve got a good idea for a Druid\'s Guild if you\'re interested.
-
Hey look! Its Slobow! What an unpleasent surprise...
Anyways... Make your guild if you want... Just think EVERYTHING through first, or it will crumble quite quickly.
-
*goes to my pics*
*looks at old Metal Militia logo*
Hmmm.
*nods in agreement with RussianVodka*
*does a little dance*
-
I say the builder\'s guild idea does\'t sound too bad. Bloodclaw are nice but it\'s never wrong with some concurrence to push down the prices a little. :P
Come up with a name that is related to the guild idea in a way like \"The Wandering Hammer\" or the \"Helping Hand\" or something...just dont take an already existing name ;)
-
phaaa
making a guild by posting and by only chating on the forums isn\'t really a guild you know,
*looks at the Merc *
*looks away laughing*
-
So you are the guy that left the mercenary guild to the joy of all its members eh? I\'ve heard a lot about you...
Can\'t wait to hear more expert advice from you
*slaps SloBro in the face
So what you are saying is that your \"union\" is worthless?
-

yeah, I guess if we had the monopoly of building it wouldn\'t prove us good would it? :P
Well, good luck Mithrendil, maybe we can ally or something when your guild is more humm... founded :P If you give up, always consider joining us ;)

Hey look at you, and i\'m the one getting warnings you act as a 10 year old,
This about the guild look how much players is posting
.....1...2...3..4...ok a cuple of hundred, ok but if you would look on the plain shift site that there are registerd
242434, yes 242434 eaven when every user of the forum had 3 acounts, there would still be many many others.
So what i mean to tell that there will be more players later in the game, that there are hier,
and that brings us to the point to admit that it is easyer to make a guild when you are really playing the game, and not \'\'playing the game\'\'
Ok thats what i mean to tell you guys
-
So you say we should wait until the game is truly released before we make our guilds?
I see why you would say that but which would you rather join being a newbie, a guild ull of newbies or a guild full of people who have been with the game for a while?
Besides, best grab the few original ideas while they are there, nobody would join a cabal clone yet many new players would join the cabal.
EDIT: W00t, go redmonk!
-
I second that... Go Redmonk :D
Seeing as he hasn\'t posted back yet, I think its yet another day-long guild idea. Oh, well. I think new non-combat guilds would be great. Davis\' Lumberjack Guild never went through... such a shame.
-
Lumberjack guild, that sounds interesting, but they\'d have to wait until woodcutting was implemented, likewise with the builders.
My advice Mithrendil, pick a deity, and name your guild for that deity. The logic behind this is that they create things, as will your guild.
eg. Talads shining hammer, The Planing Tool of Lanx, (even make up a deity) Creators of Fihra. You could even go with a race, The Kran\'s Nail?
Or as stated previously, if your idea crumbles, join The Community. There\'s a link in my signature.

242434 accounts. How many, I ask you, are active?
I would dare and do dare to say that less than ten per cent are. A conservative estimate says 200 players total stay in, on, and around Planeshift, including the forums. As a matter of fact, I would say there are more on the forums having interesting and useful discussions than there are in-game collecting semi-useless shiny objects.
