DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!! This game looks hella awesome! And it\'s free; now thats the FOsHizzle! I am utterly impressed by the graphics and gameplay. it looks even more promising than everquest. I played the test, and even though it\'s crazy laggy, the environments look gorgeous. If anyone knows what year it might be realeased or when the version with fighting comes out, let me know. I will be waiting to play this game.

We are currently testing the next release ( Crystal Blue ) with a few people from the forums( around a dozen or so ). This is to work out the initial critical bugs. We will then be having a second round with 50 or so people. After that should come the general release so depending on how the second round goes we should be good for a Major Release around the holidays.
Crystal Blue will represent a large leap over the current version ( Molecular Blue ). It will feature newly designed models in a skeleton based system. Entire new RP base character creation system. Entire new GUI system with many more windows. Entire new renderer from the Crystal Space team to use latest and greatest graphics cards. Improved guilding system with windows to customize ranks, permissions and set guild alliances. Will also feature limited combat and dueling as well as magic and hopefully crafting.
Again these systems are in their infancy and will be developed over time but should be a good milestone to see where Planeshift is going in the future.

we dont know for sure yet, but we are getting closer, the testing for CB just started like a week ago, havent you gone to the site?

When I read this I thought it was another joke... guess not. 8o
Planshift will never be finished btw. There will always new patches coming out and stuff.

What in the hell did THAT have to do with anything? o.O

Haha, he did mean the final product.
You have a long time to wait you know. You should really start playing at CB... not wait for the final product.
Trust me, you mean you can\'t wait for CB...
-
Hopefully not that long. I mean they have already these demos with their graphics code and character creation and stuff like that, all thats left is too program in lands and npc\'s and stuff. It shouldn\'t take more than a year for the \"final\" product... right?
-
Remember, it\'s made by ppl on there free time so they aren\'t all spending 16 hours a day working on it. Also commercial studios have more ppl, like I\'m not sure but I\'m guessing about 200 to 500 ppl working on it...
I would say it will be roughly 3 to 5 years before the \"finished product\" comes out. but it depends on allot of stuff...
-
It all depends, again. The devs do this in their free time, and if something more important in their lives gets in the way, their time on Planeshift will be more limited. Also they could run into unexpected problems within the code itself. CB had a release date of December 2003, and look how much more time it\'s taking. Don\'t worry about a \"full\" game. Right now there\'s no point for us players to think about such a concept.

No, ... There won\'t simply be a final release:

And i guess it\'s another 3 or 4 years after the release of CB (the alfa version), that the beta version will be released. Don\'t forget this game is made by people in their free time.

Now my post sounds like a flame
But I would think the time will decrease if we can find more Dev\'s to join the team, if you know anyone you should tell them about PS!

I wouldn\'t bother until after CB is released. They said they aren\'t looking at the apps for devs until then.
