Title: Google search for your name!
Post by: ArcaneFalcon on October 21, 2004, 10:17:27 pm
Ok, so I was curious if there were any other people going by \"ArcaneFalcon\" out there, so I did a google search for it.  The only things that came up were forum posts from here and tauniverse, where I also frequently post.  Then I said to myself, \"Hmm, I wonder what comes up for other people\'s names.\"  So I started doing google searches on random people\'s names.  One person, however, had a plethora of great stuff come up - Moogie!!  Let me just go ahead and point you to some of it (*devious grin):

Moogie Math! (http://www.emanuelsoftware.com/)
With Math Proficiency software made by a teacher for his students, now your  students can benefit too.

A flash video (http://www.mightybook.com/libraries/books/moogie/moogie.html) so terrible I couldn\'t bring myself to watch the whole thing.

Moogie nights (http://www.moogienights.com/) events, are a celebration of the synth in music, past and present, and a salute to the early library music composers.

Apparently Moogie has her own restaurant (http://www.dalehollow.org/moogies/) .

Who knew that Moogie was an avid American football fan (http://moogie.info/football/) ?

Moogie Nation (http://www.infobonaire.com/moogie/)

And my personal favorite (http://www.moogieland.com/).  Book today, avoid disappointment!
Make sure you check out the last link in the nav bar! *falls over laughing

So, what does google bring up for your name?

Post by: Kiern on October 21, 2004, 10:26:20 pm
Not much comes up for me, just some last names.

Of course there\'s BISM (http://bism.tk/)  at the top.

And this poem (http://dunland.elendor.net/res/ressong.html).  I particularly like this:

Quote
\"In name of Kiern we ride for vengeance, all who slight His name will die!\"

This got me interested, apparently I\'m a god in some game.  My followers are called \"Kiernites\". :D

That Moogie link is hilarious.

A fun thing to do no doubt. But remember that many of us use these usernames for many other games. Sometimes someone may have a name on a community they left long ago. They may have left these communities for many reasons, and you may never know truely why. So just be sure not to open any wounds again by posting links that may show this user in another community they may have grown distant from for one reason or another.

**EDIT** here\'s mine ^^

Yikes, an alternate universe where I am a sqeeky 3 inch pixie faced brat. Well maybe it\'s not so different afterall if you get past the part which states I\'m really of male origin X\'D

apparently on the UT forums there\'s a christian punk by the name of \"kixie\" I\'m sueing for copyright infringement and character deformation ;D
http://www.ac6rm.net/mailarchive/html/elecraft-list/2004-05/msg00745.html
See? I told you! X\'D

Ok maybe this is fun, but be sure like I said to be carefull in revealing other\'s dirty little secrets and posting them up for fun. It\'s a matter I don\'t have (go ahead find dirt on me, im clean ^^) but I know many would like to keep past lives behind them.

the post about Moogie is funny, I think the more fun the name sounds the more strange stuff you get..  :D

My Results (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=abemore):
1. A thread in this very forum.
2. a resellerratings review
3. GuildWars fansite forum posts.
4. An emulation website I published years ago called SilkySilkySmooth.com ...I never finished it.
5. Voiceflux.net - a VB program I helped write that allows you to control you PC with your voice like StarTrek.
6. I think my friend used my name in Everquest.
7. an ancient flame war on amdmb.com that still gets my blood boiling.

Post by: Xalthar on October 22, 2004, 10:11:06 am
Well I got Malentor from a AD&D setting called Birthright.. it had a dungeon called Malentor\'s Tower. Malentor being some sort of evil wizard or demon, so it fit my rpg character perfectly :P So no wonder that links to the computer game pop up when googled.

Xalthar I have no idea where I got, I just made that up and others seem to have used it a couple of places, so it just pops up some usernames on forums. Mine most of them.

Well seeing as Moogie is already done... (hilarious btw :D) I decided to look for Mogura references.

I am:

A java game (http://www.info-galaxy.com/Games/Mogura/mogura.html)
A handheld computer (http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Bandai/AttackMogura.htm)
A \'sochu\' restaurant (http://www.fukuoka-now.com/nightlife/index.php?fncode=380059)
A ninja (http://www.usagiyojimbo.com/characters/mogura-ninja.html)
No, seriosly, look... I\'m a ninja (http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/h/e/henegar2/mogura.jpg.html)
An art gallery page (http://www.thomaskrahn.com/Galleryimage.Mogura_2003.htm)

And the last one I\'m not gonna link to. But just to give you an idea, here\'s a direct quote from the page:

\"Mogura asked the question:

Dude, if I were you, I would have come down with a \"sudden case of the flu\", and take her to the nearest love hotel for a spanking.\"

Nothing too exciting for mine:

Shows up in some games as usernames (not mine.. not as unique as I once thought I guess ;))  and shows up for some other forums/games that I\'ve used this username.

Ghostslayer shows up as a weapon/artifact in a few stories... seems to \"enslave the minds of humans, and turns them into demonic drones\" or  \"Instead of claiming the life of its owner, the cursed blade claimed the soul, with each death that it caused.\"  Interesting anyway :D

Some wierd picture (http://www.ccgs.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AC&Product_Code=DT1522&Category_Code=908)

The PS forums and the crystal ranking page.

Googling my pen name gets me...me. I\'m the only person who spells NcNair, McNaire...and I did it because it looked nicer that way :p.

Googling my real name gets me my family, mainly my Dad, who has written some important papers, and someone named Marc, who I believe is a cousin twice removed or something. There aren\'t many people with our last name; we\'re all related back to my Great-Grampy, who emigrated to the US from Poland.

Google for my surname and I get some pretty cool stuff. So yeah, we\'re a peaceful lot :P
