Title: creating guilds - specifically websites and logos.
Post by: xanetia on November 03, 2004, 12:08:04 am: can anyone help me, im trying to make a guild but i dont have a clue where to load my site onto, can anyone recommend a good free website server?

Also can you tell me how to create those cool little icons and logos for your guild, i espescially the type of one the mercenaries have.

Any help would be happy.

Post by: Boldstorm on November 03, 2004, 12:12:12 am: Might want to check out ifreepages.com, had some issues with server dropage every once in a while but I think that had to do with the hurricanes and the upgrading they were doing afterwords. But for free you really get alot of options.

I think they also have templates so if you really have no idea what you are doing it is a good place to start.
I really think your best bet is to learn HTML and hand code everything in a text editor though :P

As far as logos and buttons and stuff, imagination, inspiration and photoshop. :D

Apart from the complexity and novelty of it, frankly i dont like the others, except for their graphics, no offence.

If you want to create a guild, create it, don\'t care if the others tells you not to. It\'s your choice after all. But if you\'ll do it, you should think that it takes a lot of time to create a decent background for it, and also taking care of it. Well, I hope you\'ll find some original ideas (most of them were taken, and Adeli, trust me I know that for sure :P ...). Good Luck!

PS - What is \"The Community\" ? Never heard of it before, though I see you have plenty members and 2 known names to me -> Zeraph & Idofex

Note: Just search for Free Websites, you should find a search website specifically for Free web sites, it shows most of them on there with some really great ones, look around till you find a really good provider...

Seems to me I told him of a place that gives you 100mb, a MySql database with phpMyadmin, email accounts and no pop-ups.
Also how does telling or not telling someone about a supposed free site become \"un business like\". If the site is truely free what\'s the big deal.

To find out about The Community, click the link in my sig... We are a trade guild, only caring about becoming rich. We are neutral. You know Waylander (Armeen) Annah? It\'s his guild. Right now we are not very active, most have their reasons.

Xanetia: \"rpless\" means RP-less, a guild that does not Role Play.

I think theres a free one tha many people use around here but I dont know what its called. There are many things you need to know before you can actually make some of the better stuff you see. Try searching google for an online tutorial of the program you use so you can learn a little about it. The main thing youd want to do is stick in a cool looking picture and make it look cooler. The stuff icefalcon make ,though, I dont think he uses pictures. You should try playing with filters, colors, layers, and text. Icefalcon is really good with making logos though so dont expect to be as good as him any time soon. You could pay him (ps mny) to make you a logo for you, which is probably what I reccomend. If you didnt know he leads a guild (that if you pay) will do almost anything ;) (which would be the mercs.)
