Title: Little Experiment?
Post by: Merdarion on November 09, 2004, 09:04:23 pm
What would you think about a P&P RPG Round on this forum where anyone could join anytime and anyone can be DM. That sounds confusiong, doesn\'t it? So I will explain it further: Someone give a very short begining like with a two posibilities to do, for instance\"It\'s a rainy and you are standing on a road. On the left side it leads into a forest and on the other into a city. which way do you take\" and anyone who likes to writes what he would do. Every day mayority decides which path will be taken, and anybody who feels to could make the next step.

Many things have changed so here the rules:
1. You don\'t have to wait for any majority, just post your addition.
2.  Don\'t write something like (\"You get there, There is someone, do you talk\"), give details to the world, I want to write it into a story after it\'s finished (No fear if that ever happens, a Episode II will come out, and after that Episode III, ......) and will really have problems to do that if there were no details.
3. Please do not post any nonsense.
4. henchmen: Just an story addition, but try to build them in.
At current state there are:
-> Tinara the meridian healeress (smitten with Jalko, wields two Katars)
 -> Dirion the meridian battlemage (best friend of Jalko, strong elemantarist, often drunk {at least in cities :-)}
 -> Jebeddo (Former it was Boddynock but a certain person had a problem with that name) the lemuran explorer {leads the party towards Hydlaa}

5. The Inventory: Copy it into the bottom of your post. It isn\'t too bad if you forget, but try not to. Please write it into your story addition if you add something into inventory.

recommended Structure of post:

OOC-Part (cursive)

Story addition ( Speeches cursive)

choice (Can be more than two, but shouldn\'t be more than five)

inventory

optional Post Scriptum OOC

If I understand you correctly,

You wake up in a grassy (very tall grass) plane with no memories of who you are or what you are doing here. There is some kaked blood on your head and you feel woozy as you stand up. There is someone talking somewhere in the far grass and someone else coming taward you from other side. Do you proceed toward the talking or wait till the other person comes in the clear?
Title:
Post by: DepthBlade on November 10, 2004, 03:00:19 am
Well heh im not sure if im suppose to wait for a majority vote tommorow or can i just continue, either way it sounded fun and i wanted to continue it! MY TURN!

You hesitate to move toward the voice but the foot steps closing in make you unsure of your safety.  The voice begins to lure you in with the soft tone which seems safer then the hard footsteps. So you begin to jog over to the talking as you begin to quicken your pace the footsteps behind you follow up with growing speed. You begin to run at full force hoping to find this person but no matter how far you run towards it, you get no closer. Your beginning to get tired, do you turn around and confront the stalker? or Take the path into the dark forest, hoping to lose whoever is chasing you?
Title:

MMMhh, good idea! So this is MY TURN!

You turn around and put your hand on your sword. But there\'s nothing. Just a cold wind flowing over the plains and the grass waves. Suddenly the voice from behind you is coming towards you! Will you turn around searching for the speaking person, or do look closely searching for source of the footsteps?

Once again you turn around, this time more quickly, hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever seems to be playing with you and finally you see something. In the distance you can discern a humanoid creature, running, but you cannot tell if it is heading in your direction or running away from you. As you prepare to take out your sword you notice a small pouch attached to your belt. Do you pull out the sword or open the pouch, hoping to find something interesting?
Title:
Post by: Enter_the_Xero on November 10, 2004, 11:32:58 pm
Curious to see what lies in the pouch you open it. Green powder falls to the floor from the opened pouch. You feel a warm breath close to your neck and spin around. You see a face withou a mouth or a nose and with six black eyes. You ump bakc and take a good look at the creature. It has a huge muscular human body with an extra pait of arms and is holding two daggers. \"WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT IN THE OPEN BROTHER??! THEY HATE OUR KIND IN THEIR TERRITORRY!!\" it asks.
Should you run away or try to talk to it?
Title:
Post by: Adeli on November 11, 2004, 04:18:30 am
Startled by this bizarre creature, you stumble back and fall none too gently on the ground. Momentarily dazed, you observe the bizarre creature approaching you. Seeing no other option you scrape a handful of dirt and fling it in the thing\'s face. Caught off-guard, the creature ceases its approach and you clamber to your feet. You set off at a rapid pace towards the sanctuary of the forest. You hear a dull thud behind you but pay it no heed. As you approach the outer reaches of the forest, you turn to see if you are being followed. As you turn, you spy your sword lying in its scabbard on the ground. The sheath has fallen from your belt!
Do you go back for your weapon and risk being caught or continue into the forest?

OT: Please take the utmost care with your posts, try and keep the as legible and grammatically correct as possible, there are few things as annoying as a story with poor grammar.
Title:
Post by: Merdarion on November 11, 2004, 08:36:45 pm
I\'ll try hard to keep that as grammatically correct as I can, but I\'m an Austrian (Not Australian! NO Kanagaroos!) and I\'m not used to the English tounge. But now its MY TURN.

Sweating of fear you turn around once more and continue running into the forest. After a while, you turn around once more. No sign of that creature. Suddenly you hear a loud noice behind you. You turn around and see a group of elves, with their swords drawn. \"Ahh, another one!\", the leader of the group says and dirrects his men to enchain you. Do you try to run away or try to talk to the elves?
Title:
Post by: Enter_the_Xero on November 11, 2004, 11:33:19 pm
Confused and scared you run away into the nearby forest. As you run you hear hundreds of angry elfin cries behind you coming closer and closer. The power is slowly leaking out of your body. You hear an incredible roar shaking the ground itself and turn completely around to see who that was. A blue crystall-like snake reaching into the clouds appears and all the elfes run away terrified. Yet they make not far becouse the snake smashes them all with its tail. All powerleaves your body...

You wake up in a bed underground in a beutifull cave full of sparkling minerals. The cave is decorated and is full of crystall furniture. There is a note lying on a table next to the bed you are place in. Do you read the note or get up and explore this magnificent place?
Title:
Post by: Adeli on November 12, 2004, 02:57:19 am
You groggily roll over onto your side to examine the note, as you do you see a pile of clothes on the floor beside the bed along with a pair of boots.
You pick up a pair of black leggings and pull them on, they are of a soft material and fit nicely. Next you pull a grey tunic over your head. You are pleasantly surprised at the warmth of this thin garment. Finally you pull the black boots onto your feet. They are a little tight at first, but once your feet are inside them they fit perfectly.
As if they were made for you.
Reaching across, you pull the note towards you to get a better look at it. As it unfolds, a small pouch falls to the ground. You briefly put down the note to retrieve the pouch. It clinks as you pick it up, and you assume that it contains coins of some description. Upon untieing the pouch, you see it does indeed contain coins, a large amount of trias. you turn your attention back to the note.
The writing is barely discernible... the scribe has an unusual scrawl. Putting all of your concentration into the note, the message becomes clearer.
\"Wait here, I shall return at nightfall. The order do not know of you yet, this is a good thing.
You will be safe here, none but I know of your location. Please, help yourself to whatever you wish.
I have left a pouch containing 250 tria, it should help you.
Your eternal friend,
Valyx Gheen
\"
Friend? Who can this be? Is it a trick?
You rack your brains, trying to find some hint of recognition, but nothing.

Do you wait for him? Or do you try and leave.

Thinking that the best choice would be staying, you make yourself comfortable. When you sit up you look into a mirror and see that you\'re looking like the creature on the plain. Horryfied you lay back down. Suddenly the door crushes open and a guy simmilar to you steps in.

Do you ask him who he is? Or wait \'till he says something

Post by: DepthBlade on November 16, 2004, 05:54:49 am
As the creature closes the door and begins making his way towards you, unable to contain your curiousity you begin to question..

Who are you? What are you? Where am I?

With a calm but deep voice the creature responds..
You my friend are nothing more then a \"Meridian\", as am I. Do not look so ashamed of yourself, we once were lords of these lands until those elves you saw decided to expand into our regions. He turns around groaning as if the words he has spoken still bear pain to wounds within his heart. The heart that has longed to regain control of what pride their people once had.

You still have not given me your name, or have told me where I am? Perhaps even explaining what happened in that forest..

My name is Valyx Gheen and right now I cannot tell you anymore then I already have, for I must depart immediately. He turns around facing our character and pulls out the sword that was once lost. This my friend is yours, hold onto it and next time use it on those elves...for they deserve much more then death, but for now death shall do. Valyx begins walking out the door but suddenly remembers something important to tell our character. I almost forgot, there is a map on my dresser of the country side and the hidden path to our city..I suggest going there, perhaps we will shall meet again there. He leaves.

Still in a state of confusion you debate whether to take the advice of traveling to the city or follow Valyx Gheen to see what is so important.

Thinking that following him could make him angry, you choose tho follow his advice. After picking up the map and your sword, you go trough that secret passage. The cave\'s dark and slippy. AFter some time you step out into the Meridian\'s City. Taking a deep breath, you\'re going in maybe the most marvelous place you\'ve ever seen.

Do you do some Shopping? Or do you look for a Tavern?

-> Note: At this point I think some kind of Inventory should be added. (Just copy it into your reply and change it if it\'s needed to)

Inventory:
250 Trias
Steel short sword
decent clothing

You head towards a large building with a sign depicting an elfin head with an arrow through it, obviously a tavern or pub. You\'re about to step through the door when A short stubby Meridian leaps out from behind the tavern door.

\"How ya been? I hav\'nt senn yoo in yonks\" He says in a very drunken manner.

\"Do I know you?\" You say, beginning to feel embarassed and uncomfterble.

\"Me? I\'m your buddy!! How could you forget me?\"

Do you continue into the tavern or chat with this possible lost acquintance?

\"Who are you?\"  You respond

Why Jalko what has gotten into you? Did you take a fall to the head?\"

\"I dont know anything. I awoke in a field, and everything since has been a blur.\" You respond

\"Whats gotten into you, comon i\'ll buy you a drink.\" He says.

Do you follow him into the tavern or excuse him and continue to explore the city?

Title:
Post by: Merdarion on November 21, 2004, 12:22:45 pm
Thinking the idea of a drink wasn\'t too bad, you follow him into the tavern.
\"Seems like ya had a big fall on your head! You say ya awoke in the plaines? Stupid idea to go outta there! All these elves, Jalko ,  You must have had a big drunk!\"
Suddenly, a Meridian runs in shouting.
 \"Elves! Elves got in here!\"
Do you take your sword and fight against those elves, or hide behind the bar?

P.S.: If someone has the knowlege he should really try to draw a Meridian.
Title:
Post by: glenduil on November 21, 2004, 02:22:28 pm
Knowing that the elves had almost killed you, you want revenge and you draw your sword. You run outside the building just to see some elves and a terrifying monster.

Do you fight the elves or do you try to hide from the monster?
Title:

---
I would like to stress my insistance on grammar please.
\"You must have had a very big drunk\"? This makes no sense.
I think you mean \"hide from the monster\".
A story needs to flow.
Also where did we get 250 tria? Did I miss that part?
---

Looking around you, the city is in chaos.
You weigh your options and decide there is only one choice. Letting loose a war cry you charge towards the elven attackers.
Seeing a challenge, a small group of elves make their way towards you. They fan out to surround you and your chances look dim.
You lunge towards the closet elf, who is taken offguard by your attack and you smile with grim satisfaction as your blade slides cleanly through his abdomen. His lifeblood pills to the floor as you quickly withdraw your blade.
Turning to dispatch your foes, you notice they are now extremely cautious and are no longer advancing on you.
As you engage the next opponent, you begin a high low, high low combo. The elf deftly parries each blow and thinking you have fallen into a rhythm raises his blade to deflect yours. He realises his error too late as your rising blade slices him open from hip to shoulder.
These elves are no match for you and both you and they know it. He slumps to the ground in a pool of blood.
As you catch your breath, you notice the creature the elfs brought has cornered a young Meridian couple and their child. They are unarmed and have no hope of survival without your aid. But is it wise to leave four armed elves alive behind you?

Do you attempt to save the Meridians or do you kill the remaining elves?
Title:
Post by: smoak on November 22, 2004, 04:28:35 am
Breaking into a run towards the creature you catch one of the elves off guard and manage to deal a fatal blow while you run. You reach the creature and cut an arm length wound into its leg causing it to bellow in pain and turn its attention on you. Suprised by the speed of its turn it knocks you to the ground with its arm and you drop your sword.
Meanwhile you can see your drunk friend fighting the three elves you were battling earlier.  You see your sword just out of arms reach and look back to see the creature getting ready to charge you.

Do you continue to fight the creature or try to lose it and help your friend?

(ooc) btw merdarion had a good idea the inventory is good as for why does he have 250 trias before he was somehow knocked out and lost his memory he may have had a life, and, hence, money.(ooc)

You charge towards the large creature and leap onto it\'s neck, and drive your blade through it\'s eye and into it\'s brain. It lets out a low moan and slumps to the ground.

You then procede to run through the remaining elves.

\"Hey nice work out there!\" Says a tall blonde meridian woman.

\"Heh what can I say\"

Do you chat this woman up or go and check on your friend?

Turning around you see that your friend is in real trouble. He is surronded by five elves, and in his drunk he isn\'t really capable of holding a sword. Furthermore you see a group of elves streaming into the town\'s hall.

Do you raise to your friend\'s help or do you try to secure the town hall?

You yell to the woman to get some people to defend the town hall before rushing off to help your friend, you take out three of the elves attacking him while the others flee and a few elves that charged at you. The woman left a while ago and noone has arrived.

Do you get your friend to a place of safety, run after the woman or head for the town hall.

You run toward the town hall taking your friend with you, knowing that the safest place for him is on your side.
When you arrive you see the complete chaos. But at the moment you want to join the battle you see the woman at the end of the street with some men running towards you. The only thing is that some elfs have blocked there path.
Do you help defending the townhall or do you try to help the woman with the reinforcements?
Title:
Post by: Cyberchu on November 22, 2004, 06:45:04 pm
I imediatly drop my friend behind a bush and go to help get the reinforcements, after slaying the elves I go into a weaponsmith and take a bow and a quiver full of arrows before charging at the town hall with the reinforcements. After clearing the entrance of elves I go outside and notice that there are elves near the bush my friend is hidden behind and there are elven reinfocements approaching.

What would you do, save your friend, recue the town hall or deal with the reinforcements

inventory

250 trias
steel short sword
Shortbow
quiver with 40 arrows
decent cloathes
creatures tusk

You drop back behind a corner, pull out your bow as with a low whistle of the arrow you pierce your friends captor in the eye with precision and force you didn\'t know you had. You then rush into the fray, grasp your friends wrist and climb up a ladder onto the roof. There is a large pile of fire wood.
You hurl a few logs into the frenzied fighting and knock out several elves.
They realise know that you are a foe to be feared and retreat into the tunnels. On the ground you spy a small medallion depicting a coin and a lightning bolt. You rush down and grab it.
\"Thanks. By the way you\'ve lost your mem\'ry \'av\'n\'t ya? Well my names Grash and yours my old friend is Jalko.\"
After checking his and Grash\'s wounds, Jalko wandered around the streets checking fallen elves for money and valuables. After doing his rounds he had 365 trias and 479 more from cashing their clothes at the clothier and bought himself a set of steel armour for 450 tria and swapped his sword and 200 trias for a long broad sword made from a dark metal unknown to him. As he headed towards Grash\'s house a small wrinkled man offered to buy the creatures tusk for 5000 tria.
Do you sell the tusk and make a killing or save it and head towards your mates house. (you see the blonde woman off in the distance)

Inventory:

444 trias
Broad Sword
Shortbow
Quiver with 23 arrows
Decent clothes
Creatures tusk

BTW if you don\'t agree with the names I chose feel free to suggest something different. I thought the main character finally needed a name already :).

Thinking that the deal seems fair Jalko wants to sell the creatures tusk when the woman rushes towards him.

\"Don\'t be stupid, You can sell it for more than that?\", she says.

\"Shut Up! The deal is a real good for you!\", The Shopkeeper jeals.

Does he listen to the woman, save the tusk, and go to his friends place? Or does he sell it?
Title:
Post by: Cyberchu on November 23, 2004, 06:56:29 pm
He keeps the tusk, knowing he has enough money for the present and he realy should find a little more out about the tusk before he sells it. He explains this to the shopkeeper and asks for the adress of the nearest library. With aword of thanks he leaves the shop and out into the plaza. Out of the corner of his eye he spots serveral elves sneaking away from the town.

Does he go after an interogate the elves, go to his friends house or head to the library
Title:

Thinking that the elves could try to steal something or bring tactical infos to their brethren, Jalko sneaks up to them. They\'re five. He draws his sword and kills all of them. Searching their posessions he finds a letter, and an amulet with a strange engravement, an eye looking trough a clock.

Do you head to the library, or go to your friends house, or do you have a closer look on the letter.

Shortbow
Quiver with 23 arrows

I don\'t like the idea of things just appearing in our inventory. Nobody ever wrote that we had acquired 250 trias... they just appeared. No one wrote that a tusk was cut off the creature... it just appeared. The tusk is not up to me to fix, I just realised we never actually were given decent clothing either, where did that come from? I\'ll add the money and the clothes into the post where we read the note. LondonWalker, can you please edit your post to include cutting off a tusk?
Cyberchu... in three different posts, you changed your style, from \"you\", to \"I\", to \"he\". This was started as \"you\" so let\'s keep it that way.
I don\'t mind him being called Jalko, but don\'t refer to him as such unless you are being addressed by someone. By using \"you\" we are placing the reader(s) in the role of the protagonist. His name should only be used by other characters, not by us.
Please, let\'s keep it consistent.
Oh and just so I know... is this armor a breastplate (I think it should be) or is it half/full plate? A Cuirass maybe?
Also Merdarion, it was not a shopkeeper that offered to buy the tusk, it was a small, wrinkled man in the street.
I derived \"scryers of time\" from the eye \'scrying\' and the clock \'time\'. Clocks don\'t fit medieval... I\'ll take it as a sundial. Any problems, just ask me and I\'ll change it. Umm we are in Yliakum right?
---

You reach down among the remains of the elves and retrieve the amulet. You examine it for quite some time. The odd engravement seems eerily familiar to you, yet you can not recall why. Deciding to examine it closer when you have time, you hang the amulet around your neck and look once more to the ground.
You retrieve the letter from the dead elf.
It is sealed with wax embossed with the logo from the amulet, it is obvious the two are related. You carefully peel off the seel and unfold the parchment. You begin to read.
\"You have served me well in the past Berallion, yet I have need of you once more.
The Meridians have long been a thorn in our side, one more than most. You know who it is I speak of.
It was my understanding that this particular barb had been removed, but I now learn it has returned. The one responsible for misleading me has been destroyed.
Your contact will be in Anath\' Cyren. Remember the phrase \"
Throughout the ages, the eye is ever watchful.\" Without this phrase, one will not keep their head.
Go to the inn known as
Talad\'s Gift, ask for the observer.
The eye is eternal,
The Scryers of Time\"
Finally you can put a name to the seal, but there is no name to go with the one who wrote this letter. It is clear that the author was known to this \'Berallion\'.
The sound of hurried footsteps approaching drives all thought of the seal from your mind.
\"Jalko, I never thought I\'d see you again.\"
This man clearly knows you.
\"The Captain wishes to see you. We will escort you.\"
Looking around you see you are surrounded by Meridians in matching armor, all with sharpened steel pointed in your direction.
This is clearly not an invitation.

Do you go along willingly, or tell them of your need to get to Anath\' Cyren?
Title:

Hey Adeli i don\'t mean to, but i\'m gonna have to speak crudely.
Shut up!
\"I don\'t like the idea of things just appearing in our inventory. Nobody ever wrote that we had acquired 250 trias... they just appeared. No one wrote that a tusk was cut off the creature... it just appeared. The tusk is not up to me to fix, I just realised we never actually were given decent clothing either, where did that come from?\"

Starting at the top of this sentance. I said a while back that maybe this guy was wearing clothes before he appeared in this field? Or are you implying that he was left there entirely naked in the fields. That\'s a bit sick... Do you want me to write for example:
\'Your standing in a town. Your wearing pants\'

In closing so what if I didn\'t write that he cut off the tusk. Who cares? Bad grammar and spelling I don\'t like but the rest isn\'t really annoying at all so I repeat, Shut up!

(ooc adeli we had the money and the tusk before the story started, It was just when they added the inventory that it was noticable.)

You decide to go along willingly knowing you have done nothing wrong and later ask them about how to get to Anath\'Crven. The Captin Informs of a raid into the elves territory.

Do you raid the elves teritory, go to Anath\' Cyren or go see your friend

Ahh LondonWalker, height of maturity there.
There was no need to be rude. You know the saying: nothing nice to say, say nothing?
Oh and if you \"don\'t mean\" to say something, don\'t.

Find a book, constructed in this manner.
I would wager a large some of money that if you read it, it would annoy you greatly, it is unlikely you would ever finish it.
Take out the OOC, and the inventory notices, copy each post and paste it into a single story. You\'ll see what I mean.

You may not find it annoying, but I am sure I am not the only one, perhaps you never read? Or limit yourself to childrens\' books, I have no idea.

I saved everyone the trouble and did it myself. I left a line between each person\'s post, though some posts had gaps anyway. I will post it somewhere as soon as I can.
Title:
Post by: glenduil on November 24, 2004, 07:02:18 pm
to get back to the story

Because Anath\' Cyren wo\'nt walk away and you are in a desperate need for answers you decide to go to your friend. You tell the captain you need to do some things first and you have no time for him.
When you arrive at your friends house you see the woman too. You also notice that your friend isn\'t drunk anymore.
They offer you something to eat and then you realise you are very hungry. You didn\'t noticed it before in all the commotion.

Do you eat first or do you ask your questions first?

(I think we should name the woman but I can\'t think of a good name)
Title:
Post by: Merdarion on November 24, 2004, 07:37:00 pm
Partially I think you\'re right Adeli. It really should be mentioned if you get something, I was very confused when there stood Creature\'s tusk. But this shouldn\'t be story in first instance, but a P&P Roleplaying-round, so the inventory and OOC Conversation is needed. AFter It\'s finsihed I will write a remake.
-->You may not find it annoying, but I am sure I am not the only one, perhaps you never read? Or limit yourself to childrens\' books, I have no idea. <--
That one really hurt :( . I read the whole LOTR, The Hobbit, The SIlmarillion (in my Mother-Language German), and the Journey to center of the earth and Harry Potter 5 (in english) and I\'m really offended by that, because I really like reading.
And because of the clothing and the money --> Jalko had a live before he awoke in the plains. I personally prefered an axe for him, but a sword has been taken so I took the sword. Where the bow comes from is a Riddle for me!

London Walker, talk like civilized people! Adeli just tries to give more or less constructive critics.

And Please don\'t make some \"You get there, There is that guy, what do you do?\" things, I will pack it into a story after that, and (just for n00bs) read trough it all.

I will start with Adelis one, because I didn\'t get the point of Cyberchu\'s.

Knowing that you did nothing wrong, you go with them. They leas you into the town hall. It\'s marvelos. You where there once before during the fight, but you were to concentrated on it to see the beauty of this place. Cristals, which are shining in the colors of the rainbow, are decorating the walls of light blue and dark red stone. The black floor acts is so polished that it is like a mirror. Decent music is playing in the background and in the middle of the hall is a fountain out of mamor. After entering that marvelous place, The guards vanish behind a door, and the meridian that gave you the map and showed you the path to the Meridian\'s city comes towards you.
Hello friend. I, Jesko, am grateful to welcome you in Utopia the City of the Meridians. Once our race spread over the whole cave system, creating great wonders even before the first Lemur arrived in Yliakum. I really wonder about your great work while the Elves attack. You slayed a Quetzal with a normal sword. A Quetzal! A creature that could survive a fight with twenty brave men! It\'s tusk is worth more than thousands of golden Circles. A good craftsman could shape a armor, which is harder then the hardest Steel, and as light as normal clothing. But the only ones who could do that are the dwarves. *he laughs* My Daugther, Tinara, has a crush on you. If the prophecy is right you could be the chosen one. And even if not you could do wonders with Vod?l\'s claw. But enough of this. First of all you should visit my old friend Brin Thir, he is a dwarven mastersmith. You\'ll have to get trough the elven territory. For a fighter like you that shouldn\'t be a problem. Take your friend, Dirion, with you. If he isn\'t drunk he is a awesome Battlemage. Also my daughter wish to come with you. She is a trained healer and can handle her Katars. * He whistles *, a small meridian runs towards you and give you a large two handed curved sword, made of red transparent crystal. This one shall do it\'s job. Also you\'ll prefer leather armor, instead of Steel, The way trough the swamps is dificult, even without heavy armor. The boy hands over a suit of leather armor. It\'s best to leave at once, so you can reach hydlaa, before the winter. When you arrive there look for a tavern called \"Kran and Sand\".
The elves in hydlaa are decent and won\'t attack you.

Do you mention the amulet or do look for Dirion and Tinara and set off?

Henchmen: On the journey to Hydlaa, you can let Henchmen join Jelko. A thief, and some kind of expolrer would be awesome

Thankyou Merdarion, allow me to apologise. That was not meant for you, and not meant to offend anyone. It was intended for LondonWalker. I am sincerely sorry for offending you. I am impressed that despite German being your first language, you read Order of the Phoenix  in Enlgish, by no means a small or easy book.
This is the sort of continuation I was hoping for, thankyou.
---

You take out the strange amulet and show it to Jesko, hoping he may have some clue as to its cause. You explain that it was among the raiding elves\' belongings.
Upon viewing the engraving, he gasps and quickly pushes the amulet back inside your tunic.
\"The Scryers!\" He cries, then looks around carefully, he appears to be quite shaken.
You place a hand on his left shoulder to comfort him, he slowly regains his composure and continues.
\"You should not have this, it is an ill omen. This amulet would mean death for you if you showed this to anyone other than myself.\"
\"Why? \" You ask.
\"It is the symbol of a cult, a most vile cult that relish in sacrifice. Possession of this marks you as a member, and membership marks you as a fiend in these lands. Do not show this amulet until you know it\'s safe, keep it hidden.\"
Jesko seems visibly shaken by the amulet, could it truly be this dangerous?

Do you continue to the swamps or inform Jesko of the letter and the contact in Anath\' Cyren?

(ooc) Umm...

I\'m really sorry Adeli, I was just having a bad day and was pretty stupid in that post. I agree with a lot of what you say and by the way your a pretty good writer. I think a medallion and an amulet in the same scene is a bit over the top though. And also Jalko and then Jesko?
No hard feelings though ok? Oh and I do read thank you very much. Dune, Lotr, Raymond Feist and Harry Potter series aren\'t childrens books. Back to the story. (ooc)
________________________

You think it would be wiser to inform Jesko of Anath\' Cyren and then continue on to the swamps as there is no hurry.

You read out the letter to Jesko.

He gasps and falls slowly back into a chair.

\"So they\'re back... This is not a good sign. The scryers of time were an ancient organisation of highly trained elfin assassins, who had the ability to see the future and past. They also had the power to fire highly propelled poison darts through time at their opponents.
That the scryers havereformed is not good news...
I suggest you continue immediately to the swamps. We will need the strongest armed forces possible and that dwarf can help you be part of that force.\"

Do you go to the swamps or stock up on supplies?

I went along with names other people chose. Oh and London, I am confused, your post follows perfectly from mine. Where\'s the problem? You read Feist, you do have good taste in books. I wasn\'t serious about the childrens book thing (by children\'s books, I meant something along the lines of See Spot Run!). I never brought in either the amulet or the medallion, so I can\'t be blamed there.

[OOC] Sorry for being so easily touched by your post, later I understood that you were not offending, but I\'m jsut fourteen and had a bad day (very bad!) and I didn\'t want to be rude so..., but well no need to apologise.

Some Infos to Newcomers: You\'re free to post on this thread, but give as many Details as possible look at Adeli or LondonWalker and Don\'t make some stupid and not fitting things like
\"There is a woman, you go up to her and start **************** her\" This will not mentioned, and I will ask moogie or gronomist to remove  that trash.
And read trough all of it.
And don\'t use bad language.
Last but not least do only use Short Language (like u, AFAIK, etc.) in your OutOfCharacter Messages.
Just make your story addition and make some choices (can be more than 2)

Request:
Title of this Story: What could it be?
The Meridian: What is this race like?
Arts: If someone is gifted and wants to draw something about the story: Weapons, Rooms, Plans of Buildings, Monuments, Buildings and Monsters (for instance the QUETZAL).
Names: The Names aren\'t all the best (At least the ones from me), so if you have any better idea say it.

Bestiary: (little explanation about the monsters used in the story)
Quetzal: A Quetzal is a snake-like beast. It has very large eyes which can cycle around 180? (Looking straight back), and a bit over them something like finns(They swim very swift), they do breathe under water.
{IF you have any addition post it in your OOC part}

I was the one who brought in the amulet (In the part with the elves sneaking of.)

P.S.: If you have any addition to gameplay add it in OOC Part

You pick up your things, get Dirion and Tinara and set off. You leave the city trough on a little boat trough a river. Sunlight. It\'s nearly burning out your eyes. You csme out in a forest. You hear birds singing, and leaves falling, it is Autumn. It is beautiful, after being in a dark place like the meridians city, which also was beautiful in an other way. Your just under a brige when a person falls off that brige and lands in your boat. Your sword drawn you see that it\'s not an elf it\'s a Lemur.
Damm elves! Not like the ones in Hydlaa. Oh sorry I didn\'t want to interrupt you. I just have had problems with the elves.
First you ask him where he comes from and then what he does here.
[/I]Oh I\'m Jebeddo. I come from Hydlaa, a beautiful city. I do a little of this and a little of that, ya know.\"

Do you ask him to lead you to Hydlaa, or do you land your boat and urge him to leave?

Because you don\'t know the way you decide to let boddynock stay. He tells you he is an explorer and he was currently busy with a job. An alchemist wanted him to go and get him some strange flowers for a potion.
Just before you met him he had found them and he doesnt mind travelling with you back to Hydlaa.
After a couple of hours the landscape changes. The trees are growing closer to eachother, blocking most of the sunlight. Also the river ends in a vast area of dark and shallow water. You have arrived in the swamp.
When you go deeper in the swamp it gets darker, then boddynock tels you to get out of the boat. According to him the swamp is a dangerous place with unknown monsters in the water. He says he will lead you over the little bits of dry land out of the swamp. because you are unfamiliar with the area you decide to follow his advice.
It gets late and you decide to rest for the night.
But then you get the feeling someone or something is watching you. You don\'t want to scare the others but they can tell there is something wrong by watching you.
It is cold and everyone would like a fire so they can eat an hot meal. Thinking of food you realise you are starving. But the shining of the flames will blind you so you won\'t be able to see anything unless it is close by. What is your choise?

I don\'t mind, your story was better anyway Merdarion

Remebering that you are in a swamp, you enlighten a fire. After some meat, you and your Party sits around the campfire, telling stories. Jebeddo just wants to tell you about the goverment in hydlaa, when you hear a noice from behind. Jumping on your feets, you see a large group of elves heading towards you.

Do you try to flee in the swamp, knowing that you aren\'t really fit for a fight, or do fight the elves, knowing that decending into the swamps without knowing the path, would lead lead you into a deathtrap?

You know you have only a change when you fight them. Otherwise you will get lost in the swamp and probably drown.
You draw your sword and start defending yourself. In this fight you get the opportunity to see how the others fight as well. Especially Dirion shows what he can do when he isn\'t drunk. He freezes the water the elves are standing in, making them an easy target for you and the others. The few elves that aren\'t stuck get discouraged and flee.
Do you go after the fleeing elves to be sure they won\'t come back or do you let them go?

Knowing that it would be suicide to follow them and that they probably get stuck, you let them go.
Jebeddo comes up to you
Well fought. I haven\'t seen someone bash these damm elves as fast as you.
During the rest of the night, nothing happens. You get up early in the morning. Anyone elese\'s sleeping. You just want to make breakfast, when you hear a whistling noice.

Do look what it is, or do stay here knowing that you might get stuck in the swamps

Well, maybe we should wait a bit. Nobody knows what comes out.
I\'m learning C programming, and know that I\'m not good enough for that, as long as it is different from a text adventure (which even I can make). If we had an average programmer we would need at least half a year for a 2D game, and far more than five years for a 3D game.

We could make a own RPG setting, with own rules, etc.
Or ask a developer to include this in final PS (Don\'t belive they\'d do it but would be great.)

Knowing that you could get stuck you wait until the others get up.
pheww! Ahh, breakfast.
Dirion takes some bread, and takes a bit of hip flask.
I love the taste of schnaps in the morning

After anyone got up you start processing trough the swamps. At Evning you finally get out of the swamps.
tommorow we will be in hydlaa, the biggest and most beautiful city under the cristalline sun. And after that I finally can get to that dwarven alchemist at Kran and sand... very suprised Tinara intteripts Jebeddo
A dwarf at Kran and Sand, Jalko aren\'t we supposed to go to a dwarf in that tavern., she asks
Yes but he\'s supposed to be a smi....!, you answer
He actually is a smith and an alchemist.

Do you ask him more about that dwarf or do you travel on?

P.S.: I suggest we stop thinking about what could be and focus on the story!
Title:
Post by: Cyberchu on November 28, 2004, 09:31:22 pm
Anxious to be getting on you ask them to tell you about the dwarf on the way, you here that the dwarf is one the best alchemist/smiths in the land, meaning he can construct incredibly strong and lightweight weapons and armor. The subject changes to the matter of the elves that fled the battle, you and Dirion believe that they must have got lost and died, whereas Tinara and Jebeddo believe that they found their way back to their camp to get reinforcements.

There is a forest between you and Hydlaa, do you enter although there is the possibility of an ambush or do you skirt the edge although this will be a longer journey?

Looking forward to your visit in Hydlaa you choose the path trough the forest. It\'s a very beautiful forest and you get on very fast. You nearly reached the end of the forest, when you hear a elvish voice
Strange!...
Suddenly a small party of elves pop out a bush.
Ha! We got them! In the name of the scryers!

Do you stay to fight the small elf-gang or do you rush out of the forest knowing that more could come?

You are tired of fighting them and you want to end it now forever, so you draw your sword.
At the beginning it is looking good for you but then an other group appears from behind attacking you by surprise. Before you can react one of the elves hits Dirion. Before he can strike again for the finishing blow Tinara casts a protective shield around Dirion while at the same time you cut the elf in half with a magnificent blow of your sword from his middle to his shoulder.
You manage to retreat a little bit so you won\'t have to fight them at two sides.
Jebeddo manage to kill some too by summoning two wolves. While he and you try to hold them of Tinara heals Dirion with a healing spell so they can help again.
But they are with to many and although many of them have found dead already you are losing.
At that moment four elves go down, when you look at them you see arrows sticking out of them. Then a couple of humans in soldiers clothes come rushing toward you and start fighting the elves. The elves now outnumbered try to run but the men chase them to hunt them down.
Meanwhile their leader comes to you and tells you they are guards assigned to keep an eye on the woods. One of them had heard a noise and had seen the fight so he warned the others and they came as quick as they could.
He turns out to be a friend of Jebeddo so he knew you where the good guys. Then the guards come back with one of the elves.
They escort you to the end of the forest giving you the prisoner to deliver him at the jail in Hydlaa. Just before you get out of the forest you here the same strange whistling noise as you heard in the swamp.
Do you ignore it again or do you go further to Hydlaa?

( I\'m a cool newby now :) )

OOC: Well congratulations, good reply, nice to have ya here  :OOC

You turn round, looking for that whistling noice, but you can\'t see it.
You damm Meridian scum! We will root you out! HA, we will remove your degenarated race from this world. The SCRYERS are awake! They will GET you!
It goes on a while, and you forget about the noice. After reaching Hydlaa, you\'re really dissapointed. The city of which Jebeddo has spoken, is nothing equal to the Meridian\'s city. While in the city of which you come from the street was made of black marbel, in Hydlaa it\'s just grey in grey. But then you see the templ of Talad. And the only thing you think is, Gosh.
You must know that the temple isn\'t made by man, Talad, the god who created the Kran, has shaped it himself. Suddenly you hear that noice again and you finally you see where it comes from. A majestic falcon lands on your arm. You see that there is letter on his foot. Curios what it says you pluck it off. Suddenly the bird vanishes.
\'Dear Jalko!
You probalbly don\'t know me, but you\'re a friend of mine. As you read this letter the time runs quickly, too quickly. You have to hurry up and reach the tavern before dusk, because the scryers plan the murder of Erendas, the dwarven master smith/alchemist of legends. And when they arrive he will need any help possible.
sincerly,

You hurry toward the tavern. On your way you give the prisoner to a guard so he can bring him to the jail. You decide to question him later.
While you are running you alarm some guards that there is going to be a fight at the tavern, but when you arrive everything is quiet. When you ask where Erendas is they tell you he is walking trough the city, something he often does.
The guards seeing that there is nothing wrong think it\'s a bad joke and want to leave.
Do you try to stop them or do you go and look for Erendas?

Knowing that an argument with the guards will lead exactly nowhere. You start looking for Erendas. After hours you give up. Exhausted and desperated you go back to that tavern. You just want to drink something.
Suddenly a dwarf in a grey robe storms into the tavern and he baricades the door with a table.
Damm scryers! Annoying scum!
Oh! A Meridian! Did Jesko send you from Meridia? Well at first we should get of that crazy elves!\"

The door crushes open and you take your ruby blade. Finally you can see what Jebeddo can. Rapidly he jumps from chair to chair cutting the elves troaths. At first you get control of the fight, but then you see a scryer knockin down Tinara. Hasting to her help you don\'t recognise the elf behind you. You feel something heavy crushing on your head and fall on the floor.
Ha! My master will be pleased!
You see that elf grinning then he takes his sword and ...

The end of a sword pierces trough the elves head. A small Enkidukai stands before you.

Afer the fight the Enkidukai introduces himself.
I am Reven. Hm my job? I\'m a, ... how would you call it ..., a thief you know, pleased to meet you!

You deduce that talking to Erendas and finding secure shelter is more pressing. You, Erendas and Reven head quickly out of the tavern and towards the outer alleys and backstreets.

\"Jelko, we are going to my workshop. No one but me has ever seen it, and you are very lucky indeed for me to be forging you a weapon.
We will have to purchase horses, it\'s quite a ways out of town.\"

After getting three small mountain horses you hasten towards the rocky outcrops of outer Hydlaa.

Only an hour or so passes before you hear the slightest rustle in the scrub.

\"Duck!!\" Yells Erendas as a poisoned throwing knife glides over where your head was but a moment before.
The assassin leaps lightly onto your horse and drags you backwards. A bright white flash sears your eyes and penetrates into your skull.

\"Jelko?\"

\"Are you alright?\"

Faces. Your vision is wavering and all you can see is two blurred faces. Unfamiliar but... You remember. You were in the tavern, Erendas and Reven came after the elves. You purchased horses and rode until...

\"Why... they were assassinating me? The scryers? This is getting serious...\" You mutter as you remember the white flash.

\"I used a stunning spell, I\'m quite sorry I would have directed it at the elf but I was startled. Yes, it seems you are becoming part of a conspiracy... Anyway give me a look at that tusk..\" Says Erendas.

You hand it over and he strokes it, examining the almost stone, almost

wood like texture of the tusk. He walks slowly over to his work bench and starts scraping off slivers of the tusk.

\"I will be quite a while, You have access to everything in my workshop except my gold plated tools and my bedroom. I suggest you explore the cliffside out the front of my house. If you like you can collect me some Populite, a whitish stone with silver flecks. I need some to finish your weapon and armour. Take Reven with you.\"

OOC: Well I just thought it would be better within Yliakum. But if I think about it you\'re right! It would be more original. Maybe don\'t place it directly in Hydlaa. But in another part of that cave.

You think you can look for these crystals while looking for animals. After some time, you have enough Populite, but not even one animal crossed your path.
That\'s so unfair! It\'s the first time I get out of Quacom for long and there\'s nothing. Neither Deer nor rabbits. Reven seems to be in a really bad mood.
Suddenly you hear a shaking noice in a nearby bush. Reven wants to shoot an arrow but you have a feelying that you should examine it. Silently you sneak to the bush, and grab the thing in it.
Suprised you look into Tinara\'s face.
I, errm, ... ,  I thought there was Populite in this, err, ..., plant.

What do you do?

OOC: It has been a bit quiet lately.

Well, Ok I\'m not gonna say something about this.
You bring back the stones and ask Erendas about what the stone exactly is.
Oh, they have funny alchemic attributes, and if used right they can meld with other, organic, substances! I\'m going to use it to make your Quetzal armor harder, and I will make a nice weapon for you with the rest. Now let me work!

Out of that cave you and the others team up and wait.

You decide to test your new weapon and armor to calm your thoughts for a moment. After a while you come to the conclusion the weapon and the suit are true masterpieces.
But then you can\'t delay it longer, you have to go to Tinara.

You go in seeing Tinara standing, you know that you ...
Jebeddo saved you once, but I want to know it, look, I take a no as answer, but I just want to know it
Well I, I, ... ..., you want to say something but nothing passes your lips

Damn, If you don\'t love me Tell It TO ME! Don\'T keep it only because you feel PITY for me!, she started shouting in anger, she was shockingly beautiful.

Shh, .. my dear, I do love you[/I]

OOC: I thought it was time to bring this story back to live :).

The next days are one of the best in your live. Tinara is recovering fast and the things around you are calming down a bit. You often take Tinara for a walk through the woods with you.
But after a while you get the feeling you have to move on. You know the enemy won\'t be sitting still and you get restless. On one of your walks with Tinara you tell her: -We should go further, i cant\'t just wait till the enemy takes his next step.-
Tinara: -Maybe they will leave us alone. we are not doing anything to them and they won\'t do anything to us-
You decide to leave it with that but you know the enemy will always see you as a possible danger and your rest won\'t last long. This evening you will ask the others about there opinion.
Then you get the feeling something is wrong. You cant figure out what. Tinara: -it is so peacefull and quit here-
And then you know it, it is too quit. There are no sounds of animals or birds, only the wind through the trees....

OOC:
made a new thread, with different plot (This time based on Yliakum)
http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/edit.php?threadid=13375&boardid=15&sid=c906f08af56584cb60ab80ffce6d9638&postid=153452

A blinding lightning. You feel that something hits you on your head.
You awake, still lying in Erendas home, there is noone else Erendas himself there. The furniture is smashed. the instruments are broken, a large puddle of oil mixed with water on the ground.

Its a devasting sight. the whole apparati of Erenda broken.

They have taken all the others with them. I really dont know why they left us two here, but it surely isnt for good.

You start looking around.

Suddenly you hear Tinaras voice in a room near you,
you haste there, but you dont seem to get nearer.
