Title: PS forum rule 1.

1. Register on the board with a fantasy or medieval name; can be the name of your future character on PlaneShift.

I\'m a party wrecker.  But seriously, either that rule needs to be modified/revoked or enforced, it\'s pointless to have it the way it is if no one is doing anything about it.  I see a trend especially among players who have joined in the last month or so (though there were many going back more than a year ago) to make up a name full of numbers, or some other name that is quite obviously not medieval or RP-like.  What\'s gonna be done about it?

Those of us who want to keep the planeshift community friendly and authentic should put some serious thought to this.  For one thing, it\'ll weed out a lot of people who are so mind-bogglingly stupid that they can\'t comprehend the rule.  We don\'t need \'em here.

This is another thing i could go on and on about; in fact, I probably should, but to be honest with ya, I\'m just too lazy.  I\'m a whistle-blower, not a speach writer.


EDIT: I re-read that post and realized it was no where near as bad as it looked like I tried to make it sound.  o.o

Well the only people who can enforce that rule are the devs and they don\'t have the time to sift through lists of new players to find which ones have rp oriented names.

Oh?  I had no idea.  Can\'t the mods ban players?  Maybe a namelock function should be added for moderaters, when the right devs have enough time.

Ohh, and this is kinda off topic, but how does one go about pronouncing your surname?

Is it really that important? It\'s not like someone makes a name of numbers to be a bad boy/girl. Or are you just trying to suck up or something? This rule is probally going to be enforced when the game takes off.

It\'s just a forum dude, for nothing more than posting messages, no matter how you see it. In game is a different story but here I don\'t think it really matters.

This should be enforced as soon as possable.  Many people are nice people, good rpers, ect. But then you see that their name is*chough icefalcon, depthblade, arcanefalcon, FESFES, edooo, and of course _xXSSJGogeto63409Xx_ cough* anyways, it will become too big of a problem to contain if we dont do it now.

Some of you desperately need a hobby of some kind. You shouldn\'t start worrying unless people with funny names appear regularly ingame, and even then, you shouldn\'t worry. They will be taken care of.
