Title: WoW Beta: Did you make it?

Who here got into WoW Open Beta?
I did, and had 67% on the downloader and when I woke up the computer was at a bluescreen!
I hate Windows sometimes.
THen I found out it was my brother\'s fault, he was downloading a 2.5GB file to a drive with around 1.6 gig left on it. He\'s such an idiot somedays.
Both he and I got reg. keys... so we have accounts and I\'m currently getting the file from Fileplanet. Blizzard\'s downloader was so slow.

So, did anyone else get in?

Yeah I am in.
I actually had someone send me the Blizzard Installer almost 2 weeks ago so I was able to download the game in advance and just had to download the patches.

Blizzard is using Bit Torrent to download the 2.5gig file and there has been a ton of complaints about it. While I was downloading it, which wasn\'t even during a peek time like when OPEN beta hit, i was downloading at a max of 48kb/s but I was uploading as high as 96kb/s.

By the time the whole download was done I has uploaded almost twice what I downloaded. Tell me how that makes sense.

But besides that I love the game :D

i think since its an OPEN beta... everyone who wants to get in gets in... but me no... I have no desire to play WoW... basically on the fact that my computer will kill me if I tried to make it work that hard

Actually Blizzard did say that they are limiting the number of keys they are giving out for Open Beta and it is a first come first serve basis.
Basically once they have the desired number of people signed up then you won\'t be able to get in anymore.

It closed pretty quickly...
48? You had it lucky...
Peak time, the maximum I saw was 20... average was 6...
Fileplanet is giving me 58!

Also I think it helped I was downloading in the middle of the stress test and not when everyone else was so I wasn\'t as bogged down with slow connections.
Took me about 8 hours to download in total which seemed to be about a third what it took everyone else.

It ended up taking me 13 hours from Fileplanet yesterday.
It\'s fun and great though, so it was worth it.
Install took a while too.

Yep.. And it\'s almost just as boring as all the other mmorpg\'s out there pay to play or not.(at least the ones I\'ve tried :P )

I like WoW.
I especially like how the jobs are actually enjoyable and rewarding.

its really annoying to get chain stuff when your characters class cant equip it

Get to know a Warrior or someone who can wear chain and trade them if you aren\'t getting Soulbound stuff. I get good leather stuff all the time that I trade with my Shammy and Rogue buddies. ;)

This is actually a quite enjoyable game :)
Too bad I won\'t be able to play it as much when PS gets out..
But then again.. How can that be a bad thing :D
