Title: Greetings to all!
Post by: Meketh on November 12, 2004, 02:42:35 pm
Hello,
After watching and browsing the forum and the progression of the \"roleplaying environment\" PS for about a year now, I finally want to say \"Hello\" to everybody who is putting so much effort into the project. In my opinion the developers and the community are doing an excellent job and seem to build \"something uncompared\".
To at least contribute a bit to this common effort I would also like to offer (if needed after CB release) doing translations into german or french (manual/game texts for possible \"localized\" clients).

Keep up the good work and the humour associated!

Meketh

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And You must follow, if You can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say

Welcome to PlaneShift!

Yes welcome.

If your in world, in mb,  look me up. I\'m the same here as on the forums.

Have you beta tested other rpgs as well?  Seems most are waiting for cb to come to it\'s first release.

a years a long time to hang out..

Too bad Crystal Blue already has a german language file, but there isn\'t a french one yet ;) If you want to do a translation to french you can look at the CVS and the language files there.

?brigens: Herzlich willkommen bei PlaneShift :))

It has german stringfile but it is really not complete at all. Another problem (not just related to german) is that only a certain part of all strings is actually pushed through the translation code now.

Thanks for the hearty welcome!!!

To answer the question about beta testing/playing other games.
Well (knowing that I will be the odd one out after telling this....) I played the game that shall not be named for about 4.5 years (being a senior guide there) till March 2004. Furthermore I tested several of the \"mmorpg`s\" out there through beta or played them for a bit (AO, DAoC, Eve, SWG, CoH, lately WoW beta).
But as I am coming from pen and paper rpg`s and still enjoy those, I was always a bit disappointed by the \"r\"-part of those \"mmorpg`s\".
Watching the community here for a while now gives me the impression I could finally find a \"home\".... ;)

We try hard and that I\'m liking the idea of other german members. Asking him what his Character will be and what he\'ll be called. Saying that mine will be Am Sheagar (ARX FATALIS) - Illusionist - Battlemage or -Illusionist-Thief.

I usually model my characters having a paladin in mind who is some sort of \"loner typ\". He tries to be there for whomever needs his services and else lives in recluse studying, praying and trying to figure out the \"deeper sense\" behing the world`s schemes ( bit ascetic I know, but usually fun to play).

Sound Interresting, but it\'s nothing for me (I like more philosophic charaters [sitting in a tavern -> having good wine -> Starting to philosoph about the world and its meanin\'] so I often take Mages, but I also like playing tricks on *nasty* guys so an Illusionist is my decision.
