Title: Morphing
Post by: Example on November 16, 2004, 03:46:21 am
Searched but no results i could find.  I would like to morph into some weird creatures.
Griffin, Dragon, Tiger, Bear, Wolf, stuff like that.
suggestions

oh and the whole search thing where you people get all pissy about someone posting a thread that has been created.
if you know its been duplicated why waste your time and tell someone to search? dont read the duplicate
common sense

Well that sorta takes out the role of a animal trainer now dont it, tho morph is in alot of games and i find it retarted but hey  i dont make the choice  if its in the game or not i just can state my thought on the matter.

If it was implemented it should only be used by druids and the likes. But thats ***if*** they implement it. Which i highly doubt.

Well Myrtl, you don\'t choose character classes in PS, so anyone would be able to use it if they knew how. ;)

I have nothing against the idea, but I doubt you\'ll be able to morph into creatures of Earth origin.

Or people could just not post duplicate topics in the first place and then we wont need to ignore the thread will we, as you say its just common sense isn\'t it?

Ah, so you can morph into a 3 legged bird which specializes in diving? In a way I am kind of curious to see what type of morhps can occur if implemented.

Looking at it from an RP point of view. Morphing can be very useful especially in parties, imagine a beast tamer is traveling with something that looks like his pet. In actuality it\'s a morphed player.

Ok then maybe a special skill lets you morph but you have to know other spells too that are required. ... spells that are like druid spells  :D

Exactly. Furthermore, I\'ll give you an impression of what the forums would look like if we would not tell ppl. off...

As for the transformation, I think it\'s a rather common feature, so it may just as well be in PS. Maybe one could morph into other players and impersonate them (only for the looks, not the name, of course, to prevent abuse)?

There should be some spell to check if it is a morphed player or not, well what would happen if you saw two monsters fighting? And one of them was a morphed player. This also raises many possibiliteis for spying aswell.

Yeah...sounds interesting. I pretty much hardly ever seen this in MMORPGS, so I don\'t know what Isolis is talking about, and believe me, I\'ve been in a whoooooole lot of MMORPGS. Like in...WHOOOOOOOOOOOOLE LOT OF.

But the realization would give troubles. Ofcourse, if the people creating this have time to implement it, to make creatures and a script to morph, it would get interesting :))

Shapeshifting would add more depth to magic, wether it is implemented as a separate skill or as a part of the six ways of magic. Followers of the Azure way could maybe transform into flying creatures for transportation? (Should require great skill, though, so that people will continue to use pterosaurs.) And followers of the Brown way might transform into fast running animals, and followers of the Blue way morph into great swimmers. Powerful fighting creatures are also a possibility, but then, all you need is magic. Melee combat should require melee skills.

Not to mention the immense fun of altering your shape. :)

I suppose this can\'t be a high priority feature, however... :(
