Title: Guild?!
Post by: Owl on November 23, 2004, 06:58:38 pm
I have the following question: if i create a guild ingame does this name/guild move on to the upgrades/final version of the (playable) game?

I believe i\'ve read that it does but i find that somewhat strange since we\'ll have to pick other/double name(s) for our character.

Since the guildname is linked to the \"leader\" i am wondering how this will work.

Thank you! :)

Guilds created in MB will be wiped along with everything else. As the whole guild structure is different in CB anyway, you\'ll have to re-create it there.

Updates to CB will not require you to rebuild anything. However, any completely new versions that may be built in the future probably will require it.

Not sure what you mean about picking \"other/double name(s) for our character\". But whatever that means, I\'m sure you won\'t have to do it. :)

I think he means that characters now will need both a first and a last name, and if a guild is under the lead of John now, how will the transfer work when the leader gets a new name...I think :D

The first/last names will go in your account as one of your characters, it won\'t actually be the account name.

Sicne you will have to recreate the guild in CB, it doesn\'t matter what your name is now... (except for reserving the guild name).

Hide from him all you want, if he won\'t slaughter you, i will.

And waylander, as i can remember they are building a system so you can \"pre register\" names otherwise cabal like people will pick names of high valued players and guilds in the game.

but because you thought bout it, i\'ll have to kill and/or torture you.

Armeen only mentioned it to rile Sep.
It worked, so he\'s undoubtedly happy.
On fire and in agony, but happy!

I dont think you were... ban, ban! Hahaha J/K.

I dont even see why we have to reserve guild names for CB. Everyone knows about our guilds and they have been advertised. Can someone please explain to me why we have to reserve guild names?

For a \"knight\" you\'re awfully, how shall i put it bright?! ;)

One more question remains though: when you create your guild ingame, does it show after your player name?

In my case that would be somewhat troubling since the guild itself is a secret \"organisation\"!

Can anyone explain please?

Two things firstly do not insult us (j/k)
Secondly I can not realy see the need for a secret service, but if you sell inteligence then you will not have a concept that is that bad.

There will be a command for secret guilds too. So you will be able to lead it in the shadows, don\'t worry ;)

-First, if you see that as an insult well ....... none of us would be able to post a little ironic remark now would we!

-Second it is no secret service, i find that term so unadventure like, since this is a fantasy setting.
And no we do not sell information.

Our goals are less selfish than what you propose. ;)

And thank you Red Monk! :)
By the way, or in a forrest for that matter love \"your\" site!

So how we going to go about getting Guild houses in CB?

I mean its a good idea to sort out if we get a plot allocated to build on, that would be a start eh?  And then from that do we pay the dev\'s a contracters crystal fee to build the thing...If thats gonna be the case I best get collecting gems, I wonder if they can be faked?!?!?

Like most other guilds Im thinking of a really big guild house...REALLY BIG!!!

The selling of information can also be looked at as safe guarding that which keeps the balance of things...

You might think its selfish to say you do it, but if you think about it getting a drink bought you and sharing information is the same thing...You\'re still receiving something for that which you know.

Besides its a quick and easy way to earn money for your guild.  You dont have to do just that, just have a group of people who do it for you...that way its out of your hands and \'I have no idea what you are talking about\' can then be used to cover up any monetary gains you achieve.

:)

\"Like most other guilds Im thinking of a really big guild house...REALLY BIG!!!\"-Bardialus

with a pool and a gym and a big double bed in the master bedroom. :D  j/k

i dont even know if the gems we have in MB will be transfered into CB???

plus with the whole Guild Renaming thing it would be a good idea for them to have a list of guilds and their leaders entered into the game before its open to the public.
Or would that be too much to organise???

Maybe even several wings attatched to it, who knows what might happen?!?!

Ive heard conflicting rumours about the whole gem issue...some have said yes they will whilst others say that we\'re going to have to start collecting again!?

If thats the case then those of you who have been on for months...I feel really sorry for you, :(

Why do the guilds have to be re-namde?  surely we stick to the ones we chose in the first place...Thats why they\'re our guild names s)

I dont think it should be that difficult to oragnise a current list of guilds...surely the dev\'s only have to look at the guild listings on PS itself!?

Yw :)

Its just a different view on things,
a wise man once said \'from that which you feel disadvantaged, there is always a way to profit\'

It also means; that is if  you decide to to do that kind of thing, that you may be able to set up a system of information that keeps you and those in your guild up to date with what is happening on other parts of PS!

I\'m pretty sure that they transfer the gems you collected in MB into the currency they have made in CB. I think they\'re trias, and circles and stuff like that?

PS: Haha, doesn\'t that sound weird? When you put PS at the end of your message you don\'t know if you\'re adding an extra part to it, or saying PlaneShift! :)
Sorry, I\'m a little googled up today.
